"I woke up on the street too long ago - have no idea if it was a day or an hour or a few minutes - fought a monster, went to sleep now I'm a fuckin' cruise ship. So no, I don't know what's going on, but do you like want to get some actual clothes, heh?"
Zoey

“I’m working on it,” Caelea rubbed their head as they tried to digest Zoey’s explanation, glancing down at themselves and what was essentially pyjamas. Yeah, she should definitely get some actual clothes. “Can’t say I was expected to wake up in a cold as fuck ship rather than a warm apartment. But I guess we all feel that way... ”

She turned to the newcomer, who Zoey greeted as Stacey, and gave him a nod. She didn’t bother to properly introduce herself - not because she didn’t want to but because she had a feeling he wouldn’t be the only stranger she’d meet today. Best to keep the amount of introductions to a minimum.

“Test, test?” It was soon followed by a “Hell yeah!”
Penny

“Penny?” Caelea raised an eyebrow as she looked up towards the speaker. She snorted slightly as Penny continued and a smile played on the corners of her lips. Some things sure didn’t change. It was nice to hear another familiar voice being just as snarky as always. She could almost forget she’d been basically teleported onto a ship in the middle of nowhere. “I agree, let’s get going before she actually does put on the trash.”

Caelea followed Zoey in the direction of deck B, looking around as they reached what she assumed was more of a “communal” area of the ship. She narrowed her eyes as she spotted signs pointing towards all sorts of things; including shops.

“Keep going, I’ll catch up, I’m gonna get some new clothes,” she gave a nod to Zoey and Stacey before jogging off in the direction of the shop sign. She went into the first clothes shop she found and started rummaging through the clothes racks. Of course they didn’t have anything quite her size. Typical. She grabbed a pair of too long jeans and swapped out of her shorts into them, rolling up the ends so that she wouldn’t trip over them. She could pretend it was a fashion statement. Then she grabbed a grey sweater and denim jacket, both oversized and baggy, to help against the cold. A pair of trainers over her sock covered feet finished it off.

She looked at herself in one of the full length shop mirror’s with a sigh. Honestly she looked like someone who’d borrowed her boyfriend’s clothes after sleeping over - what with the way it all was oversized. But it was much warmer than before so she didn’t really care. With clothes sorted she set off back in the direction of the bridge.

Caelea smirked as she reached the door of the bridge, noting the way the door had been completely destroyed. It did take away her plan to make a dramatic entrance by kicking the door in with a little bit of help from some powerful air. Alas, she’d just have to step in.

“Hey Penny, it’s been a while!” She stepped through the hole in the door like it was nothing, grinning as if this was some kind of reunion instead of a very shitty situation she’d rather not been in. “Fancy meeting you here, how’ve you been? Can't believe we're-”

Caelea cut herself off as she noticed another person she’d never seen before. She turned to the other girl, who was shockingly the same height as her, with a faltering smile. For all that she could deal with the people she already knew (part of one of the only group of people she trusted), strangers were a lot harder. And that was just two in one day. Was this her punishment for all the time she spent travelling alone and avoiding others?

“Uh, hey there, I didn’t see you,” she almost made a comment on the girl’s height but realised that could massively backfire because she was just as short. “Guess there’s quite a few of us stuck in this situation, huh?”

Maya frowned slightly as her phone buzzed in her pocket, shifting herself where she sat so she could pull it out and check it. She almost choked, letting out a spluttering cough, as she unlocked it and saw the screen it had been left on. BIG TREV sat boldly in the middle of the screen as the contact name and she smiled once she got over her bemusement. Certainly saved her from adding his number from the sticky note. And she was definitely asking him about this later. But for now, she had to check the message she’d just gotten.

Ah… a text from Nina asking about the meeting. She chewed on her bottom lip as she tried to figure out how to respond to it. She liked Nina and she really, really didn’t want to worry her with everything that had happened. At least not over text. Still, the younger girl would find out one way or another about the FBI raid.

To Nina: A lot happened at the meeting, most of it not good - I think there’ll be a lot of changes now. I’ll call you later to explain.

She then turned her attention back to what was being said. Kayla was demanding to know exactly what had happened and honestly Maya was in no mood to explain the entire thing properly. She’d leave that to someone else.

“No objections here,” she shrugged as Kayla stepped up to be leader. She was probably one of the best options for that job and honestly… as long as it wasn’t one of the people she actively disliked. She rolled her eyes as Elise went on to denounce her explanation of what had happened and gave part of what had actually happened before going into some self hating rant that Maya couldn’t care less about. And also spoke against Kayla as leader.

“You cut a deal or something?”
Jess

“Yes, we did,” Maya turned to look at Jess with a shrug. “Well, Lyss did. A deal with a whole bunch of terms to stop them from outright killing us.”

Once again she didn’t actually give the terms - someone else could explain them instead.

She was flying.

All around her hung soft, white clouds and a deep blue expanse. The wind whipped through her loose hair as she felt herself swoop down. This was what it was like to feel free with nothing but the silent sky around her. She smiled, elated, as she reached forward towards a cloud.

Only to have it slip from her grasp as it all began to fade…

Caelea groaned into the soft, white pillow her face was pressed against as she tried to chase the remnants of a dream even as she was pulled out of sleep. Fuck, this bed was so comfortable that she could just stay there all day and nap. She didn’t think she’d ever felt so cosy and warm in her life. Just a few more minutes…

She sat bolt upright as it hit her just how comfortable the bed was. She’d fallen asleep on her brothers couch, since it was all he’d had in his apartment for her and her visit had been unexpected. Not a bed and certainly not one as nice as this. The light attacked her suddenly opened, pale eyes as she squinted to look around the room. No, this certainly wasn’t where she’d fallen asleep. She tilted her head as she looked out the window only to see the ocean spreading out for miles on end.

Okay, what the hell? Was she on a… cruise ship? How had that happened. She knew for a fact it wasn’t some kind of prank by her brother because, for a start, he was far too serious for that and they couldn’t afford cruises. So this must be something weird. Caelea groaned and ran a hand through near white hair as she forced herself out of the bed. At least she’d gone to sleep wearing a tank top and some shorts.

Something she regretted as soon as took off the covers and found that air around her frigid cold. She shivered and went over to the wardrobe in the room, thankful to find one of those dressing gowns that hotels normally provided. It didn’t exactly look good but it would help against the cold until she found her way out, or a jacket.

“Yooooooo! Anybody here?”

A strangely familiar voice shouted from outside and Caelea frowned, approaching the door and pushing it open. She cautiously stepped out to find rows of doors… seemingly endless. This just kept getting fucking weirder. Then she turned around to see Zoey. Her mouth fell open as she felt like she’d been transported back to when all that shit had happened. Maybe she was still dreaming.

“Zoey?” Caelea’s eyes narrowed in confusion before she folded her arms and forced a smile. “Is this some kinda reunion I didn’t know about and got kidnapped for? Can’t say a cruise ship is ideal…” She shook her head as she trailed off. “But seriously, do you have any idea what the fuck is going on?”

Honestly the other girl didn’t look like she knew what was going on as well. Caelea was just glad she wasn’t alone on this weird ship.

“I hope there’s an easy way out of this place.”

Maya remained silent as Lyss spoke, while bending over to pick out a few crystal shards still stuck in her legs. Fuck. She hadn’t even had a chance to consider that fact that she had a bunch of cuts on her legs that had been sluggishly bleeding for a while… She was going to look like a mummy after she covered them up at home. Note to self: don’t shatter crystals nearby again.

Her previous gusto from when she’d approached the group was gone as the tiredness and sheer enormity of the events hit her. Not to mention that almost every body part seemed to be in pain. She just wanted to go home and let herself break. Stop pretending that what had happened hadn’t hit (literally) so close to her fears.

But still, she nodded her agreement to everything Lyss said. The other girl was right - as much as Maya disliked some of the people here they were still a group and they weren’t getting anywhere. She didn’t want to be so close to possible death again. The feeling of being powerless, not to mention all the violence, brought back too many bad memories. She shuddered.

"He likes you. Use that to your advantage. Flirt with him. I know you think he's cute too. Maybe you can get him to slip up if you're cute with him."
Lyss

“Alright,” Maya broke her silent agreement to speak when she was directly addressed. She smiled slightly - as if she hadn’t already planned to flirt with him anyway. Maybe today hadn’t been all that bad. “I don’t think it’ll be hard seeing as he already slipped up around his superiors. I’ll get some information out of him…” She then shot Riley a glare and muttered, “As if he’d even look at you.”

She went back to silence as Claudette addressed some of what Lyss had said and again inclined her head slightly in agreement. She had less that she wanted to gain from the coven herself, outside of companionship and possible revenge, but working together made sense. And then Babylon spoke… And everything she said was right, to Maya’s surprise. Because if the FBI had wanted them dead they would’ve been. Maya, and Lyss, knew that better than anyone from their discussion with the leader.

"Fine. You do that. All of you just fucking do that. Because I am done with this shitshow. When I joined this group I thought we'd just be exploring the Extra-Normal and understanding magic better. Not getting on the FBI's nerves, or becoming some gang to shake down someone's fucking vampire problem!"
Agatha

Maya physically flinched back when Agatha’s head snapped in her direction, eyes widening momentarily in fear when Agatha absolutely went off in her direction. She clenched a fist in her jumper and forced back down the anger that began to return, thankfully for once that she truly was too tired to argue back. What was the point in arguing with someone who was walking out the door anyway? Someone who was completely right with everything she’d said.

She sat, slightly stunned, as the group that had gone to face the dead dog or whatever came back. They looked just as roughed up as most of them… so it must not have gone well. She didn’t even look up when Madison shouted - it wasn’t like she’d been there to help or anything. On the other hand, she completely snapped out of it when Emily opened her stupid mouth and spouted a bunch of lies.

“Quit with your bullshit, Emily. All she did was run away and get a taser to the ass,” Maya looked at Emily with an incredibly fake smile. Two could play at that game. “What actually happened was that I fought them off. I blasted all of them away and knocked off the leader’s mask so he had to get rid of the tear gas. Then I fought all of them but he was pretty tough… That’s when Lyss shot him with a taser and swung the battle in my favour. I was about to win but then one of the Agents looked at me with this adorable, pleading face and I hesitated. While I was distracted the two outside came in and took me by surprise. That’s how I almost saved the coven.”

After a bit of time recovering from the pure shock of being thrown out of an FBI van, Maya and Lyss managed to figure out how to get out of the sticky handcuff situation. Really, it was more Lyss - who had said she could unlock the cuffs with a bobby pin after Maya had started spouting off nonsensical ideas to help the situation.

But Maya had provided the bobby pin, even if it was a bit awkward as Lyss used her teeth to pull it out of Maya’s hair and drop it into her hand. She held back a wince at the tugging of her hair - it was nothing compared to the rest of the day. And anything to get out of these handcuffs.

She let out a sigh of relief when the handcuffs were finally removed, moving her hands to infront of her to rub her wrists with a hiss. She turned her head to look at Lyss. “I never, ever want to meet that bitch again.”

Immediately after speaking she pushed herself up onto her knees, then her feet with a wince. She was going to be fucking sore tomorrow. Totally worth it to send those Agents flying. After taking a moment to get adjusted to having free hands and being on her feet again she stumbled back towards the casino, in time to hear talking and then a bunch of shouting.

“We can explain what the FBI wanted.”

Maya stood in the door with a semi-dramatic pose even though she looked like an absolute mess. Her face was red from those fucking slaps, which still hurt like hell, and her eyes were puffed and red from the tear gas. Her hair was incredibly disheveled and she was now soaked through thanks to the fact that it had started raining because, of course. Not to mention the sticky note in the middle of her forehead - a little wet now, but still readable.

“They had a few conditions for not throwing all of us in jail.”

She walked over to the table with a confident smile, even as it was more of a limp than anything. Act as if she hadn't just been put through one of the worst lectures in her life with the threat of death and past memories hanging over her. She was totally fine and definitely wasn't feeling all the realness of the situation rush to her now that her anger had subsided. But she ignored this, and instead removed the sticky note from her forehead and slapped it down on the table. “First off me, Lyss and Riley are on probation… there’s contact info on that note I think. Second… Well I don’t really remember, Lyss can explain it.”

She then heavily leaned against the table, turning to face Emily and all her (not entirely unfounded) rage towards Agatha as if she’d just noticed her.

"Hey Emily, how's your ass? And that’s a nice pair of handcuffs you got there. Why don’t you shut the fuck up and stop pretending you didn’t try to run away as soon as shit hit the fan? As if you’re not a self serving bitch who’d rather run than help the rest of us?"

She turned her gaze to Agatha. “Not that she’s entirely wrong. What were you doing during this entire thing? What’s the point in having a leader who’s just going to freak out as soon as it gets dangerous? I’m not saying we’re going to look for it,” though they totally would, “but if we’re on the feds radar… that means we’re on other people’s too.”

She paused as she pulled herself up to sit on the table, since she couldn’t see any chairs nearby and fuck her legs were beginning to hurt. She thought about her words for a moment - how to explain things in a way that didn’t make it seem that they hadn’t been backed up against a wall and only saved by that cute agent stepping in to ask their superior to let it all slide.

“That’s why I think it’s about time we pick a new leader. My vote’s for Lyss who, like I said, can explain all the conditions of the deal she got to stop the feds from wiping us off the map.”

"You're kinda cute, y' know?"
Trevor

“So are you,” Maya replied with a wink, even as she let out a huff of annoyance. She was entirely unsurprised to be slapped in handcuffs, what with the whole attacking them thing, but she’d hoped she would at least be left inside while Lyss took on the role of being the Coven’s leader. Being hauled off to meet their leader with a long title was exactly not what she wanted to do. She just wanted to sit down, because her ears were still filled with an irritating background ringing and her legs hurt from the crystals that had shattered beneath them.

She rolled her eyes when Trevor said some bullshit about her being under his spell and was so very tempted to try anyway. It was soooo tempting to do the exact opposite of what she was told to but for once she decided against it. She might as well make the most of having to face this Supervisory Special Agent - and losing her hearing would just be a pain right now. Still, she responded to his words with a slight smirk and said, “You’re going to show me something funny, Agent! That’s so nice of you!”

She didn’t drop the smirk even as she was dragged outside to Riley going absolutely wild and honestly, Maya had to give the girl some credit for actually having the balls to fight back (unlike most of the others). She secretly hoped the girl would pull something out of her sleeve to beat the bad guy but she doubted it. Not that she’d get to see it, since they were hauled off into what she assumed was their command vehicle.

It was kinda cute how Trevor completely stumbled over explaining the situation and she would’ve given him a thumbs up for his efforts if she wasn’t, well, handcuffed. Still she looked entirely shameless for the fact that she’d decided to attack them.

The only thing that stopped Maya nearly falling over, being the weakass that she was, when slapped was the fact that Trevor was holding her. She still stumbled, head twisting to the side and knees half buckling under her. Fuck, that women could pack a punch. She was pretty sure that was the hardest she’d been back handed… and it had happened quite a lot. She forced herself to straighten back up and meet Meifeng’s stare with a confidence she shouldn’t really have.

“Isn’t it illegal to hit defenceless prisoners?” Maya asked coyly, one eyebrow raised as she ignored her stinging face. Then, quieter, she added, “I thought that only happened in porn. Are we actually in the middle of a porno...”

“And technically I never laid a hand on your Agents I just hit them with the force of some very powerful sound waves. Really, it was all in self defence because they attacked first before giving us some bullshit orders to-” she cut herself off once she realised it was the most idiotic idea to argue with someone who had just threatened to kill her, and would probably see through with it. Someone who had just backhanded her with no hesitation. Still she hadn't been able to stop herself… so she tried to do damage control as best as possible. “It won’t happen again.”

Then Maya smiled prettily (as pretty as you could get after tear gas) and turned her head towards Lyss. “I’ll let our illustrious leader convince you to not kill us all.”

Tbh Elise is one of the ones who doesn't deserve a hard time... At least she tried to get others out while some idiots fought the feds

Also id like to think they'd be as entertained as they are confused
