Ashana (age 25) hails from the arrid and dry deserts of Ahkshriba in the far west, a land of thieves, cutthroats, and mercenaries. She was abandoned at an early age when her father, a soldier of the Sultan Khomeni II, died in the Great War of the Mercenary Kings and her mothet died giving birth to her. For a majority of her childhood, she was taken care of by her mother's sister, a cruel and careless woman, who during Ashana's twelfth year, sold her into slavery.
Luckily, Ashana managed to escape the slavers before they sold her off. She ran away from her home in the capitol of Ahkshriba soon after and fled to the port town of Farro. Farro was notorious for being a den of thieves, and street rats like Ashana fit right in. For years, she lived off the streets by stealing whatever she could get her hands on, food, clothing, etc. Twas more out of survival, yes, but larceny gave her such a rush. Eventually, she grew into robbing people in the dead of night, holding up travelers and traiding caravans on the roads, and swindling people out of their hard earned coin.
Thus the infamous Black Rose was born.
She used her beauty to lure men, and even women, into a false security before making off with their valuables, and what she could not take by wit and charm, she took by blade and blood.
An agile combatant and a silver tongue, Ashana wields her two favorite daggers, Love and Hate, a sword on her back, and carries an assortment of throwing knives and/or smoke bombs on her at all times. In cities, she tends to dress normally in simple peasant clothes or in ways to accentuate her natural beauty. On the roads and at night however, she dons sleek, black leather attire, complete with a hooded shawl to cover her face. She's a smooth talker, often using her charm to con her victims, but sometimes her words can fail her and she has to result to more...drastic measures.
In combat, Ashana prefers three things, speed, mobility, and the element of surprise. She's a master of stealth and hit and run tactics, plus wearing little to no armor and wielding light weapons, she can move across the battlefield quickly and strike even moreso. However, her lack of protection puts her at a disadvantage if she does not land the first blow, and if outnumbered, she's pretty much dead.
For Ashana, personal gain is her only goal. She will only aid others if she is offered something in return, and when it comes to pursuing her own lust for wealth, she'll sink to the lowest rung to get what she wants. She is not above betraying others if it is a means to an end, and often she'll use seduction to lower her victim's guard before robbing them blind. That is not to say she doesn't have her caring side though. Ashana still has a heart. It's just been hardened by all she has endured in her life. There are sparse moments that she shows love or compassion for anyone and anything besides money.
