Bio

The years behind me grow and become brighter whilst the years ahead shrink and become dimmer, providing me an excellent opportunity to use the word 'whilst'. Now I'm tired and can't think of anything else funny to say. Let's see, classy info dump should do. I am FlitterFaux this time around, I tend to get horribly busy (still am) and leave the guild sometimes for years at a time but I just can't stay away forever. I'm not awesome enough for advanced but fast paced one lining does not work for me either so casual is juuusst right. I'm a lady, possibly past 29 but don't ask which 29th birthday I'm at, I like rainbows which is good because they're hard to escape in Hawaii, I like fantasy and sci fi with liberal sprinklings of horror and drama, and I'm tired again. I'll finish the rest later. Edit: Whoa, whoa, whoa, hold the phone. I can start a private conversation... with myself!? Epic. Truly epic.

I mean, you need some 'darkness' for it to still possess the capability to enact violence, right? You could swing it like that.

Precisely.
Somehow I feel like that would be a bit more than just gradually kill the Grimm. Seems like it would be more immediate.

I was thinking the same. But the purification could be be stopped just shy of the last 'drop' of darkness. That would achieve the desired effect. She would definitely prefer to just kill a Grimm, but I also think there would be those that insist she use the 'turning' ability as much as possible.
The 'enslavement' route would be my preferred way to go. The purity thing is deep into her origin story, a major issue the CS only touches on. Essentially this would work like ripping the very darkness/evil out of a Grimm (applicable to evil people as well except their aura greatly protects them from the ability) If a part of the darkness is taken the Grimm is weakened. If a significant amount of darkness is taken a Grimm may be unable to harm a Hunter at all, but could still defend or flee. If every bit is taken the once evil creature is now pure. it will obey Skye and even willingly act to the benefit of humans. However, a purified Grimm would begin to die, gradually. Grimm that were more powerful or excessively evil would even deteriorate quite rapidly. So Skye could not purify and build an army for humanity out of Grimm. Also the limitations on how many she could purify, how quickly, and for how long would make this only useful for skirmishes, and ideally against weaker Grimm.

More importantly this power scares the ever-living SHIT out of Skye. Besides background reasons think about it: where does that darkness drawn out during purification go? But now I'm kind of exited to take things in this direction.

I think that has some interesting potential. A powerful semblance that only targets Grimm? That would go a long way to helping explain why Beacon would take in such a ragged and troubled girl to train.
Perhaps she could even temporarily take over and manipulate Grimm, able to make them fight for her. And then destroy them when she releases them.

Or she could be inheritly dangerous to them, her semblance could weaken Grimm that stay around her or cause them to become fearful and flee.

Lots of possibilities here.

Personally, I rather like the first one.

Too true.

Well, I could try to mix up DW completely and explore the purity/impurity aspect of the character. But that could get very complicated. But... well I guess it is kind of a unique thing with Skye. Tentatively the first thing I think of is something along the lines of purification. It could weaken Grimm or even turn them in extreme cases, or just kill them as Grimm kind of thrive on darkness and evil... eh, what do you guys think?
<Snipped quote by FlitterFaux>

Lemme explain, since these guys are not making a bit of sense, as usual. (:P)

Dragonslayers are from an anime named Fairy Tail, they gather a particularly bad stigma in RP and Fanfics because they are ridiculously overpowered, require little to no thought because their backstory has include certain overarcing details, and on top of all that, they are extremely cool. So, everyone wants one. Lots of low talent or just plain undesirables tend to gravitate to them, hence the negative stigma. Its so bad, GMs of Fairy Tail RPs have to put severe limits on the number of them allowed. Otherwise they will be overrun with edgy look-a-likes.

@Abillioncats's feeble attempt at a joke was refencing these facts.

Ooooh. Crap, do not want that... Skye isn't like that, right? Good god have I made her too edgy?!
Hmm, why don't I just simplify DW down to a power boost that drains aura faster? Seems the easy way out. Despite my careless use of the word unlimited, I'd prefer Skye not be too OP. On that note considering what she has done to herself what are reasonable limits on her everyday boosted strength, speed, durability, senses, etc., just a ballpark idea to reference during combat? Note: Probably changing DW to temporarily boost already powerful physical stuff. Also if she ever does feel masochistic and death wishy she could also eat more Dust, meaning another significant boost. (Later is at least a very very unlikely scenario)
Dragon slayer? Not familiar.
Ah, so no aura, no semblance. Makes sense now that I'm awake and chatting with peeps that know what they're talking about. I swear, I'm like that bumbling constable in the murder mystery game...

Honestly, I should probably change how Divine Wind is activated if not recreate it entirely. But first, coffee.

@Crimson Raven

Really though I'm just getting a kick out of Crimmy's reaction to UNLIMITED POWER
Lovin the feedback :3 And yeah, I knew Divine Wind was going to need lots of adjustment. As is painfully obvious at this point my understanding of the finer points of aura, semblance and how they work is limited. Admittedly I was also pretty tired by the time I got to semblance so I may have just been throwing a lot of random ideas in as they occurred to me... So it's a hot mess and the help means a lot to me. The core concept inspiring the hell that is Divine Wind in as follows: Skye had very little save all that Dust and evading Grimm was not always an option. Time and again she was pushed to her limits and beyond. Having always been a very determined person it seemed fitting to aim for a semblance that played off the idea of a last resort second wind. Something that represented an indomitable will to fight and survive, especially when things were at their worst. I am open to any suggestions on making this semblance.... less terrible. I also was under the impression that semblance and aura were not entirely dependent on one another? But I just don't know. And if it is the case I think my brain was imagining: 'semblance is its own power/thing? Maybe it could create a brief, temporary artificial/reserve aura? Could be neat....' <.< or it could be an embarrassing mess, Flitter.

I tossed in the variation that she could gift Divine Wind to others on the off chance the whole thing was underpowered, so taking that option right out is just fine. Being underpowered is not its problem.... And I kinda like the idea of the Dust in her body slowly being consumed over time. It would force her to refresh all those tattoos and sew more crystals into her flesh. Then again I am kinda sadistic concerning my chars so maybe I'm just happy to have another excuse to further wreck Skye's life....

Further suggestions welcome :3 I will be either be making some serious adjustments or recreating Divine Wind into a prettier, more cohesive picture. Ah, sounds like there are not too many other issues with the sheet?

Now then... ~goes to look up Oswald and gives thumbs up to Crimmy~

Unlimited.

(Hey! When did we get buttons?) ~goes button crazy trying to hit all of them at once~
@Crimson Raven@Crimmy@HereComesTheSnow@Abillioncats
Awesome this took all day and its still very rough (please, don't stare too deeply into the personality section...) So, now we can get on with the feedback and I can begin my heroic journey to fix all my mistakes.

The first mistake: forgot to put the CS in a hider. Smooth...

Waaait. Faunus can have both ears and a tail? I thought it was one or the other. Shoot. A set of ears to go with the tail would feel much more balanced. Done.
