I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Probably a shooter that is less linear trench-slogging with quicktime-events that were thrown-in to make sure the buttons you normally don't press still work... and more... well.. I was thinking something that was more "final objective oriented with no care how you get there or how badly you screw-up in the process so long as you can fix it" with several random events set into motion that could totally force you to fail and need to be expertly manipulated without any hand-holding to line-up with the final climatic showdown... Kinda like trying to manage kharma in Fallout to get good/bad endings, but instead it will constantly change to something you don't want it to be without constant upkeep, like letting your reputation fade into obscurity and your deeds suffer from constant entropy (and having some missions that REQUIRE you to lie-low, to LET your kingdom crumble around you in order to undo a simple mistake, to act in secret). That tiny little realization that even though your deeds will be your legacy, that legacy can and likely will begin to fade the very second it fizzles out. So you act. You move. You give your world something to talk about. You also create your own difficulty spikes by how you prioritize your mission-objectives, path-finding ability (Portal/Mirror's edge?), and time-management to deal with random events that could fatally bog your character down if you take too many risks too often (leading to players horrified of the idea of running behind their own pace). Example: it could be possible for any NPC to forget who your character is (without scripting), which may or may not be a good thing. Especially if you're on a time-sensitive mission that required their cooperation. Sure, you could earn and hold onto a keepsake to remind that NPC you've earned their trust (or the trust of another NPC they trust) but that takes up inventory and itself will be fragile.

Foster's case told as a parable. To be fair, I've been deaf on my left side for about as long as I can remember. People say this has made my life harder. Harder than what? To what other life that I have lived can I directly compare it to? I'll admit it creates a dissimilar playing-field, but no different than picking a 1 against 3 fight against some kids with re-bar stuffed inside metal broom-handles. I've done plenty well enough alone. Does this mean I have to try harder than others to get the same results? Maybe, but if I use the effort needed to achieve a given result as my personal baseline for effort expected of me, then how am I to tell if I am having more difficulty than others? BTW, Vortexx, emotionally isolating yourself is a common coping-mechanism for stress. Biologically, it's the equivalent of the words DON'T PANIC in friendly pink letters on the cover of the Hitch-hiker's guide to the galaxy as a survival-mechanism. NOT being able to go emotionally numb in a crisis is the other end of the spectrum, to be emo 24/7. Once whatever stress-trigger is gone long enough (incl. dietary issues), the emotion will probably hit you like a brick wall of dicks.

From what I understand, the Huntersses ARE Vale's military.

Yes, but it;s also a major festival. Lots of civilians from around Remnant, people's guard is lowered because they're busy with the festival itself. Think of how much of a propaganda coup it would be to have a major infiltration of the city by Grimm, during what is one of the biggest festivals of the year, in the full view of the world. What does that say about the Vale government and it's ability to defend itself as well as protect it's citizens? Basically, even if they had been defeated, it would have been a massive blow to the reputation of Beacon (For a real life example, look at the Sochi Olympics and the Volgograd Bombings), and it gives them legitimacy and public awareness. And fear.
I was thinking more like the Iranian Embassy raid or flight 8969, since the tunnel ended literally at the doorstep of what amounted to whatever training facility the SAS uses, rather than a certain heavy-handed regular army garrison.

Unless they planned to 'delay' or detain pretty much all the senior students out on missions, wouldn't waiting until the Vytal Festival also mean *ALL* the students would have been there at the time? Even after their revised plan is completed, I don't think we'll fully understand the original plan at all.

You raise a valid point, however I'm sure Mr Torchwick will make the current lack of remote-access to the robots a moot yet still quite valid point.

Why can't it do both, Flamelord?
I've been struggling with this a lot since I was a kid and it's not even a nervous habit anymore--it's just something that I do. Luckily, I'm a little more conscious of it than some, and I never bite too low or close to the skin. That said, it's still a bad habit and one that I can't seem to stop. So, does anyone have any advice on how to go about stop biting my nails?
Chew on a pencil and try to look sexy while doing so.
-Eventually that will get old. We'll be sure to let you know when. Alternately, invent a motion to indicate "I'm idle/bored/thinking". -Tapping a dubstep-beat on your cheekbones can work (strumming a desk is a bad idea)... Or, clean your ears before biting nails. A fingerload of ear-wax is a pretty good deterrent. -(or not, if your obsessive of keeping the underside of your nails clean)
