I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Somebody had to vote for these people, right?
I think the problem is that nowadays if you're voting for a president who supports guns, you're also probably voting for a homophobic, racist asshole.
Wouldn't it be great to vote for someone who is neither an asshole nor an idiot? Problem is when a conduit for the people's will starts to think their own will is the will of the people, and decides to impose it against obvious opposition, they tend to become known as both.

See I think I'm quite fortunate to not have the availability of those kind of things - I was a very unstable child and it might not have gone so well one way or another, at least I don't think i'd still be around. I guess on one side it shows a huge amount of 'national maturity' in a way. I think if the UK had that kind of access it wouldn't go well at all - but I suppose that'd lead on to the kind of debates we are avoiding.
You seem pretty afraid of yourself, Consider safe gun-handling like safe car ownership. It takes literally like... 6 months to get over guns. You fasten your seatbelt. You check your blindspot and try your damndest to keep yourself aware of any vehicles riding up alongside and about a sneeze away from trading its paint-job for yours. You don't drive your car on the sidewalk to get around slow people. Nor do you run people over -repeatedly- just because they flip you the bird while standing on the crosswalk. You don't lock yourself in your car, in the garage, start the engine, and fall asleep while listening to your favorite music one last time. In America, the idea of needing a 'legitimate need' as defined by someone else with a gun seems kinda communist as needing the mayor's consent to own and then a separate consent to actually drive a car out of your own town (that need as defined by someone who more than likely does not have that limit imposed upon themselves). You want a GTO Firebird and move to a different state? Go buy one and drive. -Do you *NEED* a GTO to do that? No, but you want one and it'll work fine without spontaneously exploding on the highway. What is the problem? When government says you can't have something you want because they don't see you "needing" it badly enough to let you have it, what's to stop them from saying you don't "Need" other things you want? Like a new place to live? Or a new president? -America's answer: Guns, a lot of them. And not a single one in the hands of the Army. The concept touted on why gun control fails is the same reason why encountering a deserter from the military is an omen for a very terribad day. Granted, when kids are young and immature, they get behind the wheel and make "Vroom-vroom" noises, but that's just them pretending an action without a destination.

More modern. Also a clip from the narrator.
I'd go right and lean pretty hard on that 4th wall. Maybe even break it.
I would fallow the narrators choice, to the right leads to a grinder.
But the important thing is I won't die, right? *Foster acquires an angle-grinder and begins building a pyramid I should stop before the int-check gets moved to the free-RP section for beginning to have a side-RP within itself.

True, but I liked when Ren did. Especially when he broke the 4th wall. I find it to be a metaphor: Ren loses his voice because a great man is silent forever.
That or he gets kidnapped, or takes a football to the groin so they can attempt to explain a new voice-actor. Or he gets hurt, badly and gets rendered mostly-mute, Nora will have to adjust.
Haloo.

The idea I like best is to have Lie Ren have an accident that renders him mute.
He never really had a chance to talk much, did he?

Just saw this on my Facebook feed and it almost made me cry. Just thought I'd share it with you all.
I'll admit it, that did make me cry. This entire thing is hitting me so much harder than I expected it to. Maybe it's not just the loss of one incredible man; maybe it's what it represents. I don't know, but every time I think I'm okay I get torn up again. Is anyone else getting hit harder than they thought they would?
Um, hey... remember that rumor that they were going to get around to killing one of the characters from RWBY... Hoping they do a minor re-write to that... a RL death and a portion of a death to that person's creation would seem a bit too hard a kick to the feels... Monty's work was his life. -Ideas are bulletproof. RT-staff picked up like.. 5 people to supplement Monty's workload. (hoping they can keep up) But even if they do, at some point it will begin to diverge. What if: Ruby sacrifices her scythe to save someone, and had to build a new weapon? -Made more sense to me at work after watching the podcast. The moral of the story: /Marshall-plan
For group RPs it takes patience and perseverance. -Some people only log-in once a week, and pray they don't get writer's block or need anything clarified.
Name: Cheng Quiad Age: 23 Gender: Male Ethnicity/Nationality: Chinese, City Urban Administrative and Law Enforcement Bureau, Zunyi Prefecture Physical Description:
Passes for a short-statured human male with a lean build and a short nose. Typically with short dark hair and a somewhat pale complexion than is typical for someone from his region.
Skillset:
Trained in highly choreographed small-unit raids to apprehend suspects, often with or without the assistance of military-grade hardware. Also quite good at following paper-trails to uncover money-laundering operations.
History
Following a lead on an anti-corruption case, Cheng had assembled a team to raid a wealthy businessman's mountainside-estate. Mid-raid, the team was descended upon by an unknown entity that proceeded to pursue them and their target (then under protective custody) alike. From their new informant, they quickly learned the scope of their problem and set-up a hasty perimeter in hopes of holding them off until dawn. However it wasn't long before these measures were proven quite futile; only serving to delay and aggravate their assailants. Thankfully time was in their favor and enough of his team remained intact enough to bring the man in. Things didn't go so well the next night, however. As their witness died gruesomely while in his cell, and many of his team either quickly went 'missing' or recanted their story on how he'd gone insane and started gunning-down his own team. Then, alone on the following night. There was an intruder inside his home. Although it only looked and behaved like just some punk kid with a grudge; he should have known better when he tried to draw a gun on him, only to see it and his hand crushed into a mangled mess of flesh, steel, and bone. His kneecaps went next. He was still in disbelief that it could possibly end this way, even as he was swiftly dragged out of his home, and lectured on his true place in the food-chain. He was then doused in kerosene and set on fire. They wanted to watch him burn. Luckily there was a nearby koi pond which he managed to roll into. The vampire quickly rushed after him, only to find himself impaled through the heart by a submerged log. Vigil had gotten word of the unit, but by the time they arrived Cheng was the only surviving member that wasn't re-aligned with the blood-suckers.
Psychological Profile:
Cheng is one that is often observant, quietly cataloguing anything and everything that could be used either against him, or against anyone that wishes harm upon him. Others would often dismiss this as paranoia whenever he'd point-out any of the less-likely means of his team's demise. So on one hand he tries to be crazy-prepared for everything, on the other hand he tries to be crazy-prepared for everything. Pointing out any overlooked flaws in his preparations usually results in him scrambling to correct that flaw before proceeding onwards with his mission.
Modifications:
  • Communications suite
  • Toxin filters
  • Eye/ear augmentation
  • Joint-reconstruction (legs, arms, spine, neck) allowing him to bend with greater speed and agility, and less likely to get permanently dislocated
  • 'Wired' reflexes. When coupled with his improved joints and better perception, it was deemed worthwhile to improve his ability to make use of these things in hopes of keeping-up with the vampires
  • Dermal armor and memetic viz-mods. As most of his original skin had been burned-off and normal skin-grafts being as they are, they decided to opt for a skin that can change tone as well as provide better protection from cuts and gunfire.
  • Robot-hand (right). To replace his pulpy stump, they gave him a modular hand that socketed to his arm. In theory he can socket an entire robotic arm onto his arm, but most people think that would be a bit weird.
Equipment:
  • Mimetic Camouflage (Predator) coat
  • Modular, caseless assault rifle/carbine (MCAC) with 25mm grenade launcher. Often slung under coat. His also came with a bayonet.
  • Grenades, mostly 25mm with a thumb-activated manual detonator.
  • Monofilament garrote. For quick and nearly-silent decapitations. Someone had the idea to put a spool of this up his right middle finger.
  • A compound bow. Largely under the presumption that wooden stakes are still better than bullets. the upside of course is that it has a rangefinder and can ballisticly calculate exactly where the arrow will go and can be 'doped mentally to account for windage and less than conventional projectiles.
  • Machete, because durability is more important than elegance when fighting something that can bench-press a tank.
  • Sunglasses, largely because a side-effect of his visual augmentations is that he can see the UV disco-balls just as painfully as the vampires do.
