Well, I can't open a gate to another world until I've recovered, and we can't control the destination of yours. We can continue into the dungeon to try to find a natural exit, or camp out here until then.

Like I said, dead people need special circumstances to even stay in our world, either that or they're reborn. So, Noct here probably pissed off the Goddess and the Goddess punished him to roam as an familiar for the foreseeable future. It's not like he can't get another body, it's just really hard to make one.
