Sorry if my posts have been a bit subpar lately.
Carrie couldn't stop her smirk from growing at Lin's comment on her lack of parents, before quickly reforming it into a sympathetic smile. "Well, Miss Lin, I'm deeply sorry to hear that. I'll be the first to admit that I've never been the biggest fan of my parents, but we did have...good times, and I don't think anyone deserves to be robbed of that." she said, before continuing to answer the girl's question. "I was born in New Jersey, but I've been moving around lately."

In the short time that Souls spent relaxing alone in her new room, laying in her comfortable new bed, she felt her negative emotions start to mellow down a bit, signifying that the old holy fucker had evened the playing field a little. The headache was still a bitch though. But after those few minutes of listening to the muffled noises of voices outside her room, drifting off into a meditative sleep, she heard her door creak open.
"Would you mind if I r-roomed with you?" she heard a soft voice call out to her. After a moment, Souls pushed herself into a semi-sitting, semi-laying position, her elbows propping her upper body up, to see who was addressing her. There, in her doorway, she saw a timid looking little girl with short brown hair.
"Shit, kid, are ya sure?" she asked skeptically. "I mean, seriously, after the giant ball of ass fuckery I pulled this morning? Do ya really have no better options?" And after a few moments of hesitation, Souls added, "Whelp, if you really want, sure, come on in. Make yourself at home." With that, Souls's elbows lowered her back into a laying position
