The Academy of Solomon

Li looked James over, fixing her gaze on his face in time to pick up on his discomfort when talking about being a Witch Hunter. She filed it under the interesting things to question him on later. Satisfied for the moment, Li nodded at him once he finished speaking and spoke herself. "Yes, I'm a Demon Hunter... Or at least, I'm training to become one."

"As for bragging about it, you could if you wanted to. I don't mind." Li shrugged. Once he looked away from James, she realized they had almost reached their hall. "I'm sorry for cutting the conversation short, James Ferron, but I have to get settled." She said with a polite smile as she wiggled her pack and backpack. A moment later she had vanished into her room and closed the door.

Nobody was there.

Li let out a sigh of relief and set down her stuff. This place was far more crowded and noisy than she was used to and it had been taking a toll on her. She began to unpack her things and get ready for her stay at the Academy.

I'm thinking there's a circular hall and rooms are just there. Each room houses two students and the entire hall houses the team. Have you ever played Skyrim? I'm thinking about the rooms in the School of Magic far north.

"Hm." Li nodded and followed James, bowing slightly once he introduced himself. "I'm Li Lane. It's nice to meet you too, James Ferron. Are you perh-"

The commotion at the entrance distracted her. Figures, it was Edge. Why was it that she could never meet normal people on trains? They always had to be either violent or antisocial! Li stared at Edge as he walked past and gave her the directions. Once he vanished, Li turned to James and gave him an awkward smile. "I met him on the train."

'Sure you met him on the train, I made you sit next to him, Li.'

"Anyway, let's go." She said as she started walking again toward their hall with James. A moment later she picked the conversation up again. "Which Hunter school are you going to be a part of? You don't look like a Van Helsing or a Pendragon, that's for sure."

'Not a fan of Leyline.'

"Well, you're going to have to get used to it." Li muttered to herself. She was carrying a medium size baggage pack and a big backpack and wearing a medium length black dress over a pair of leggings as well as a pair of knee-height black converse. Black made her feel protected and warm.

The Academy was... Interesting, to say the least. Surely there was more to it than a huge mansion. Probably a couple underground chambers or the like. A lot of the seniors were entering the mansion already and Li figured that asking one of them what she was supposed to do would be the best course of action, yet there were a couple others who stood out to her. They certainly looked as young as Edge, so they were probably new students like herself.

There was a girl and a boy. Naturally, she walked toward the boy (James).

"Hello. Where are new students supposed to go?"

He's kind, warm and very close-minded, which is admittedly not a very useful trait when a war is going on. Over the years and after committing numerous mistakes, he's become wise. He shares this wisdom whenever possible, but knows not to lend advice unless absolutely necessary or asked. He'll be seen wearing casual clothing in the form of a pair of brown dress pants, a pair of worn leather shoes and a simple light blue plaid shirt. Li doesn't know who her biological parents are. She's never known them, and the first memory she has of life is the smiling face of Lucas Lane. He may have been her adoptive father, but he also was her real father. From what he told her, he brought her in from a life of poverty and pain and took care of her for years out of the purity of his heart.

She knew those were lies.

That was merely the Demon of Pride inside of her father speaking, gushing with pleasure at the thought that he, along with his human host and friend, saved a poor orphan from the streets and raised her as their own daughter.

But she worried about it as little as others in the Family did. Everyone lived with a Demon inside of them. Demons of Pride, Gluttony, Sloth, Lust... Of course, the exception had been Li herself. Being adopted, the Family wasn't able to prepare her for the Pact as quickly as other children. While others obtained their demons at the age of five, she obtained hers at the age of ten.

By that time, she had been training in Martial Arts and the Naginata for five years, so when the day to make the Pact with a Demon came, the Demon who sought her out was a follower of the ways of Lust. From that day until the present, Li had trained endlessly to become better and better at her martial prowess and controlling the Demon's powers.

When her 15th birthday hit, Li obtained the Black Belt in the Lane's Naginata Style and her lust shifted to something else: becoming a Demon Hunter like her father.

It took some time to convince him to let her attend an academy for it, as he was too prideful to admit an academy would be a better place to learn than the Lane household, but he eventually gave in after Li escaped the household to track a demonic cult and nearly got killed.

Her father is still really mad at her for being so reckless but that's just his broken pride speaking.
