This hypocritical 'everyone is beautiful, but my partners are more beautiful than yours' just undermines body confidence.

Also the whole "good looking dude slums it with fat chick for one night stand" thing is already such a gross frat-boy stereotype, I don't know why they'd play into it even more. I'm all for casual sex if that's your thing, but stop bragging about getting random dick thrown at you like it's a validation of your intrinsic beauty and sexual self-worth when it's really just a sign that you have a vagina and you're on the internet.

The male is expected to approach the female with an expression of interest. All the risk of rejection, embarrassment and inadequacy is therefore on the male. And don't forget to account for her hypergamy - she is of course entitled to 'have it all'.

It's not that personality doesn't matter. It's that you didn't meet her looks threshold, only after meeting that (which normally means being 6+) personality matters. Think about it, if you met a cute girl through fb, talked to her for 2 weeks and she liked everything you like to: fedoras, atheism, comics books, mountain dew, being a cuck etc. And all along you thought she was cute and liked her personality but then she sent you a pic saying "sorry, this is the truth, I'm 250lbs, spotty and NEET, but I think we have so much in common and that love will get us through, fuck appearances and being shallow!"

Would you still talk to the girl? No. You get loads of ugly people with great personalities but these are the girls and guys we avoid and keep in friendzone.
