So I know ff13 gets a lot of crtique backlash in the same way that something like 7 gets hype backlash. It seems enough time has passed that people have started saying ff13 is 'not that bad' or even 'pretty good'. This is because people have returned to the series with fresh eyes and have an immediate desire to go against the popular opinion especially in a series as old and well known as FF.
I'm sort of cheating here because I dont have the energy to detail all the problems with ff13 in one post. But I came across this video series critiquing every element of the game and if you are interested in this debate and dont mind long-form videos then maybe have a look.

So close-ish to realistic, based on being fine with a chi blocker you mean the character themselves and not the setting? I came up with a relatively low powered setting where people are tasked with fighting monsters that secretly invade earth. They use spiritual magic but he's not in tuned, still in training, so basically just fights like a normal human with some weak telekinetic bursts like a simple shove if he concentrates super hard. They use special weapons able to take them out but no more powerful against humans than normal swords and whatnot.
This sounds fine, look forward to seeing your sheet, your opponent is ready.

Yep Canon is okay, but they will need tweaking depending on the round to fit the tier.
