Her power was split. Her resources were split. A lot of intangibles were just split, between two people. She had identity issues in the past involving being a machine that she’d largely overcome, but this resurfaced those feelings and then some. And I’m sure it’s the same ore maybe even worse for the other half.

You know how they spread their Amaranthine stuff to people to corrupt and convert them? He caught Kat in a scenario where she was weakened by the circumstances, and instead of corrupting her outright, he split her into an alternate version of herself that’s Amaranthine. Forcibly.
