Do any of you have sigils or heraldry for your provinces? Preferably something circular and about 100x100 pixels, or at least something which can be easily scaled down to that size.

As an example, the Laurensi use the 'Golden Branches' as their sigil. A tree bending over with heavy golden branches and whose roots are red with... well, let's just say "opportunity" and leave it at that.

A Queen wouldn't want to just have random commoners in her court they know next to nothing about the larger world around them, often times the merchants and craftsmen were chosen in their position because they were the closest.

That would depend on the nature of the provinces from which they came. If one of them were a coalition of free farmers, then their representative would be the farmer who would best represent their ideals in the council. On the other hand, if they were a bunch of marsh dwelling fishermen, they'd probably have a lowborn fish tickler as their representative.

It's not necessarily about who would be best for the Queen, more who would be best for their province.

Trixie was only a hacker in the sense that she hacked apart machines to get at the good bits inside. Her focus was on mechanical engineering and crafting, but with Aiden's genius in that field compared to her self taught tinkering she'd be a little outclassed.

At this point I'm not too invested in the character to not step aside if someone else wants to take on a similar role though, and so far we don't have a doctor who could prove useful to the team once the story gets going. Also, I'm quiet good at coming up with concepots quickly so getting a replacement for Trixie shouldn't be a problem.

Happy and outgoing, even under the more dire of conditions, Juliet is a consumate professional when it comes to medical care. Always striving to improve the moods of those around her the young medical technician always tries to lighten the mood, sometimes even when she should be accepting the gravity of a situation instead.

Appearance:

Almost always seen in her medical jumpsuit, which she considers lucky due to the number of lives she's helped save while wearing it, Juliet rarely wears it in its intended fashion, instead preferring to let the top half hang down around her waist. Her hai9r is usually held back out of her face in a ponytail style, and her prosthetic arms always kept clean and polished whenever possible.

Abilities/Weapons:

» Field Sugery Backpack - Designed as a tool of last resort, the FSB is fitted with manipulator arms equipped with auto-suture manipulators as well as anesthetic injectors. Along with this the main module houses a proteective field generator capable of projecting an energy field upto three meters around Juliet. The field can then be flooded with medical nanobots, which can sterilise the area in seconds, preventing secondary infections for her patients as Juliet treats them, as well as protecting them both from enemy action while treatment is enacted.
» Medical Prosthetic Limb - After losing her right arm defending a group of critical patients several years ago, Juliet has been outfitted with a specialized prosthetic fitted with medical scanning technology designed to help diagnose illness and injury while in combat. The tactile response of the limb is so precise it allow Juliet to perform most minor surgeries in the field with only the support of her Field Surgeon Backpack.
» Stronger Than She Looks - Juliet prefers to avoid getting into direct combat herself, instead remaining unengaged in order to provide medical support when needed. However she's highly skilled in both standard issue firearms and the use of her backpack servolimbs as close combat weapons, and when called on to fight can usually defend herself and her patients admirably.

Background:

Juliet's early life was a troubled one, growing up in a wartorn country whose abundant supply of otherwise rare minerals made it a prize which had been fought over for generations often with very little food to eat and only dirty water to drink.

Her mother was a military officer, but due to the unstable political climate of her country she was seen at various timnes as a brave defender of the state, an evil terrorist hellbent on the downfall of the nation, a noble protector of the innocent and a vicious freedom fighter, sometimes all on the same day. Her father, a well respected medical practitioner, did what he could to keep his wife and daughter safe through the troubles, and luckily his skills were so much in demand he was easily able to barter them in exchange for a relatively comfortable standard of living for them all.

Unfortunately life in her country was never safe for long, and when a new government took power after a bloody uprising Juliet's family hospital was attacked by the new army. Fighting to their last, both of her parents were killed, but luckily Juliet managed to survive, protecting several critically injured patients in the process, but at the cost of her arm.

Several months later a research team from The Village passed through Juliet's hometown, loooking to make contact with people who could assist in obtaining some of the rare materials they needed for an ongoing secret project they assured would be able to help the people once completed. Using her father's contacts Juliet managed to acquire the needed samples, and in thanks the research team invited her to join them.

Juliet now lives in The Village, using the innovative me3dical techniques seh learnt from her father to keep her new friends healthy and battle ready.

Average height, average build, average everything. Susie goes to great trouble to make sure she stays that way. If it weren't for her recognisable red hair and green eyes you'd never be able to spot her in a crowd. Just the way she likes it.

Having raised herself on the streets, Susie has a hardworn charm and singleminded devotion to those she considers her friends. She also has little patience for those who stand in her way, although she's more likely to try and find ways to circumvent them rather than cause a scene which may attract the 'wrong sort' of attention her way.

During her early life Susie lived in a middle income district. The daughter of war veterans who'd found comfortable employment with Blacklight she enjoyed a comfortable life where fun and games were always an arm's reach away. However in 2182 her life was shattered when her parents were killed during the night. Following the training her father had given her 9-year-old Susie ran for the streets, hiding herself off the grid and breaking all lines of communication with her former life.

For the first year she struggled to survive, but soon found that a favour here and an act of kindness there were the best ways to secure loyal and trustworthy friends. Drifting into low level crime, teenaged Susie acquired hacking cybernetics from street level associates of some powerful corporations and began running small jobs for the various gangs, never staying with any one long enough to draw the ire of any other.

Slowly building up a name for herself as someone who could be entrusted to get things done Susie began taking on more dangerous jobs, only to run afoul of corporate security. Caught in an ambush during a data hack heist Susie found herself in the middle of a gunfight she was sorely ill-equipped for. Using her street smarts and athletic skill managed to evade capture, but not without losing an eye in the process.

Having learnt her lesson, Susie made use of her criminal contacts to get herself some weapons for self defence, as well as the basic training required in using and maintaining her new firearms. Her contacts also put her in contact with a trusted cyberneticist to repair the damage she'd taken and Susie soon found herself with a high-grade prosthetic eye to replace the one she'd lost.

As the Shock Glove works through metal plates embedded in her fingertips Susie has no fingerprints on her left hand.

Susie's right eye has been replaced by a high-grade synthetic replacement, following the events of her early career. This allows for limited low-light visability and identification of electromagnetic conduits through most civilian building materials.

She carries a datatab on a chain around her neck supposedly designed to be able to access Eva through any compatible dataport. » Even though Susie lives on the streets, squatting in whatever unoccupied structure she can find until someone makes it safer to move along, somehow in times of extreme need or distress useful items seem to fall into her lap, for instance her high-grade cybernetic eye being delivered to the back alley surgeon mere hours before Susie arrived seeking just that thing. Although this has happened enough times to draw Susie's attention, it isn't something she's come to rely on, or bothered to investigate too closely for fear of scaring off her guardian angel.

If we're getting another mechanical expert with scanning technology and enhanced strength that kinda rules out all three of my possible characters. He's also the son of Village scientists which matches Trixie's background too.

Perhaps I should switch out to play as a medical specialist, such as a field medic who can help patch up the team if they get injured? She would have come from outside the Village, a survivor who had been rescued from an enemy attack after having been part of a small group of wandering refugees and had learnt her medical knowledge through trial and error field experience under the guidance of an old mentor.

To be fair, those armors are extremely protective, but a fast and agile enemy would literally be impossible to keep track of. It'd be hard to move, even harder to see, hard to hear... it's fantastic protection, but those helmets are so solid that seeing out of them would be difficult af.

That's presumiung there's only one guy wearing the armour. You get a hundred people wearing suits like that, moving across the battlefield slicing at anyone who gets close enough with their giant sword and it's a different story.

Putting aside all the differences and squabbles our characters will have, the young queen should really feel lucky. She is getting advisors in almost every field she needs coming to help her. Gonna be a good queen.

You could always play as the lord from a province close to the Crownlands, which traditionally provided the head of the Queen's guard, in the same way as the King's Guard works in Game of Thrones.
