1. Would living at the orphanage what?

2. I mean, potentially? There is none. She could have every bird on the planet parked on her doorstep with enough misery. Practically, it would never get to that point. They show up gradually, a few more every day, and her mood would probably change before you'd get a birdemic.

3. When she's comfortable, a couple dozen at most. Living in bliss could drop that number down into single digits.

4. You know, kids stuff. Moving into a new home, getting in trouble, having a fight with a friend, knowing you've done something wrong, being lonely. Dogs, being around dogs freaks her out now.

5. Nah. They can tell what is and isn't dangerous.
@Gentlemanvaultboy Birds? That's a new one. What's the limitation?

Honestly? I imagine if she stayed in one place long enough, under enough stress, you would get a carpeting of birds expanding beyond the horizon. But that would take a long time, and a lot of stress.

The longer she stays in one place, the more birds show up until they cap out. The more stress she's under, the higher that cap becomes. Big birds only show up as a direct response to her life being in danger unless the cap is really high, at which point they'll start showing up like regular birds.
Name: Alfreda Caw
Age: 9
Power: She attracts birds.

Appearance: A small girl with short blond hair, usually wrapped up in a coat that's much to big for her and a kitted wool cap she's had since she was a baby.

Bio: Betty was discovered three years ago sharing an abandoned building with a large flock of mixed birds. That was odd, but nothing to be concerned about until they showed up at the orphanage she was placed in. In large number. With quite a few identifiably exotic species. The birds watched her, brought gifts to her, and gave the stink eye to anyone that messed with her, and every day there seemed to be more of them. The final straw was the day that an angry dog somehow got onto the grounds. It targeted little Betty, at which point a cassowary bounded around the corner of the building and kicked the thing to death before running into a bathroom and promptly vanishing.

Deciding that they were not at all equipped to deal with that particular brand of insanity the administrators regretfully passed Betty into the care of the mysterious Benefactor.

The birds dutifully followed.
Zack picked up the torn remains of his hat and grimaced. "Yeeesh. Glad I didn't throw the sunblock. That would have been terrible for you." Deciding that it was a total loss, he happily let it drop into the surf to be carried off somewhere before crouching down on his haunches to have a face to face. "Where'd you come from anyway, big guy? I work with lots of strange metas..." he started, then felt a s%@bing !)ain in his h&@d. He laid one hand on his temple and tried to concentrate. He knew he worked with monstrous metas, but the why just wasn't coming to him. What was@#@#_)@*&)(* "...but I've never met a talking dog before." He finished, as though nothing had happened.

We'll all be around the burning jungle soon enough anyway lolol

Like the aliens that designed this world would make it so a forest fire was possible.
Where's Zachary exactly? Shore or in the bay?

Woah... I didn't reckon everyone would post that fast.

Oh no, that's Max in the water. And he's got one of those lifeguard floater things, the bright red ones. Zack is on the shore trying to play fetch.

Zachery wiped the slobber from his face, gathering his thoughts about what had just happened. "Holy shit, a talking animal." he said, pushing himself up and grabbing his hat while looking on as the dog serched for something else to do. Looking closer, he wondered if he'd seen that dog somewhere befo-*#^&*&@^$*&^!*^$*&@^(%$!&%($*^%(!%$@%-he'd never met a dog so rambunctious, at least not around him. Animals always seemed afraid of him for some reason he couldn't quite place. If this one wasn't going to tuck in its tail and whimper off to the corner in his presence then he had an unprecedented opportunity.

"Hey buddy, you want something to chase?" He called to the dog, twirling the hat in his hands. He took it in one hand and gave it a throw, sending it spinning down the beach like a frisbee.
I still have no clue what to do with Jake. I actually had the same idea as GVM in that this place might revert him to his human form but I don't want to just copy Owlman (I kind of inadvertently copied him when I made Jake) Plus I kinda want him to stay a dog. He's more fun that way. Maybe I can explain it away by saying that he actually prefers being a dog...?

I assumed that's how it worked for Light. She's just so comfortable being a toon that taking that away would actually add to her distress. Owlman would be more comfortable not being the Owlman, so that's what he got. So it depends on what he's more comfortable being.

Also you didn't copy me. You are a dog who is a man, I am a man who is an owl. We're totally different.
@Raijinslayer

Max sighted his first problem almost instantly. Three kids drifting out to sea on a rubber crocodile, clearly struggling. He took his sunglasses off, grabbed his float, and jumped out of the tower. Racing down to the water and diving into the sweet, sweet surf he paddled out to them.

Only when he got close did he realize he knew these people. Well, one of them. Jackson was one of the guys that...something about shelter or...training or something...he knew him, that's all that mattered. He paddled up smiling. "Hey Jackson, and these must be the brothers I've heard so much about. You boys seem to be in a spot of troooouble. But, not as much as you seem to think. You got a solid floatation device here." He reached out and petted the croc on its big goofy noggin in emphasis. "If you all calm down, and get on one side, you should be able to kick back to shore."

They were, after all, training this kid. May as well take any opportunity to teach him something new. Give a man a fish and he's fed for a day, teach a man to fish and yadda yadda yadda.

Can't see the picture.

It's just a particular part of Final Fantasy 7. It keeps turning on and off for me to.
