I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

Josephine Randolph Prendick

Life finds a way, but if it can not I will

Full Name: Dr. Josephine Randolph Prendick
Nickname(s): Dr. Snake
Gender: Female
Age: 40

Species: Human?
About Species: Josephine has made so many surgical modifications to herself that even she admits that the nature of her humanity is up for debate. She is stronger and heartier than a woman her age should be, with extremely well honed eyesight and reflexes. Her skin oddly cold to the touch, which she states is a result of more efficient heat regulation and blood flow.

Weapon(s): As handy with a knife as she is with any scalpel, she keeps two on her hips for personal protection when traveling. Her pack contains an assortment of cures, antivenoms, and seditives that can be made lethal in the right dosages. Finally, there's her bird. Phoenix is a specially modified peacock capable of generating antibiotics within its body with the right feed. Each snake head represents a separate one, capable of injecting it like it would venom, and all together these five head are capable of curing the three most common diseases in the world, with the other two heads set aside to inject sedatives and pain killers.

Abilities: Josephine may just be the greatest Doctor in all the land, capable of creating miracles with nothing more than sheer skill. She can re-attach heads, combine two beasts into one, discover the cure to even the most virulent of plagues, and perform surgery on herself. All with hands so fast and precise that she could stab a man through the eyelid during a blink and not damage his eye.

Reason: Professional Pride.

Brief Personality && Biography Description: A cold woman from a distant land, driven out of academia for so called mad theories. She fell in with a group of fanatical scholars looking to see how far they could push medicine. On the cold, dark Isle de Monde they carried out numerous and horrible experiments upon the local wildlife and one another. After a few years of this the remaining doctors went their separate ways, scattering to the four winds to practice medicine out in the wider world. It was a relief to Josephine, who felt that her skills were being wasted on the island when she could be saving lives.

She wandered the world after that, solving problem. She saved the city of Rivenbrook from the mutagens that tainted its river. She cured the Vipsanian plague. For the Kings of Nanto she repaired the shattered fists of their crown prince. For the people of the Ifrities river she shaped men from elephants. But for the first time, here in Naviance, she's tasted the bite of defeat. Though called upon to do so she could not cure the King.

Additional Information:

  • She keeps in touch with the other members of her old cabal. They send letters to areas of plague and warzones on the chance that one of them will be passing through there. There are eight of them, including her.
  • Pheonix's father was Josephines longest companion, a sacred bird said to ward off evil spirits and bring good fortune, and paymeant for her service from the Nanto Kings.
  • The fee for Josephine's service is "Whatever I wish to take from the largest room in your home." Depending on the client this can range from priceless treasures to a single breath of air.

Firebrand took beat his wings once or twice as he dived, his attention diverted by the bolts of energy that suddenly flew around around him and his decent speed slowed. Viral's sudden attack took him complexly by surprise, the impact catching him under the jaw and throwing his head and himself backwards. He quietly panicked, before quickly righting himself to get back into the fight. Only to find that the battle lines had been redrawn.

The Necromancer was locked in a stare-down with the blue haired woman, by his words the one that had shot at Firebrand during his dive. He wondered what game she was playing at? Did she sudden'y want to protect the beastsman? He didn't have time to contemplate that as Viral shouted his challenge and laeped into combat. Firebrand beat his wings fiercely, carrying himself upward narrowly out of the way of Viral's grasping fingers and letting the beastman sail under him before dropping down and placing himself back to back with Damien. "It would be my honor, Viral. But I worry about whether we'll be allowed." He said, jerking his thumb over his shoulder at the necromancer. "I told our young friend here I'd protect him as best I could. Were he to find himself in danger from the other elements still active on this battlefield I would have no choice but to abandon the battle to aide him. An oath from the Demon Firebrand, freely given, is not something so casually cast aside. Not to mention the chance for Blue Hair or the Rat to interfere on your behalf like before."

To make his point he tapped Damien on the shoulder without turning around and mumbled. "If you're still doing something to him, do me the kindness of dispelling it." He said, pulling another talisman out from around his neck. This one had the shape of a suit of armor, and as it activated he felt the magic fortify him for the coming battle. The beastmans next attack would not send his head spinning like the last one. "I'll fight Viral." He called out to the battlefield, eagerness apparent in his voice. He was almost shaking with anticipation. "All of you can control your grudges until after we've settled this like warriors. If you can't, speak now."
I could go for some generic adventure.
Ashley Chalk stood in one place and tried not to vibrate with excitement. The grey circle of fine powder slowly collecting at her feet was a monument to her failure. She'd known she wouldn't be able to control herself in the face of so many heroes, which is why she'd gotten here early and resolved to stay right here, in this one spot near the back of the crowd, so she didn't get ash all over everything. She was wearing a turtleneck, a big heavy coat, even had her hair tucked up inside one of her dads motorcycle helmets, but it didn't matter. The stuff would find a way out and she didn't plan to make things any harder on anybody else by dirtying them up on their first day.

It was actually kind of intimidating. Sure, she'd seen a lot of these kids parents over the years coming and going at CHALK Labs. Sure, she'd begged and pleaded once she'd heard they were letting anyone in this year until her parents had made some phone calls and gotten her in. Actually standing here, though, she was struck with the idea that she didn't actually deserve to be. She was about to fangirl out at any moment, but a consequence of that was that she couldn't help but see these people on a whole other level then her. She felt like a intruder in their world, a roadie who'd wandered onto the stage by mistake.

She glanced around and saw another guy looking around, sticking to the back the same as her. She would have waved, but that would have resulted in a cloud. "Hey." she called out to him. "Are you new too?" She asked, trying to shake the nerves from her voice. Maybe she would be able to find some solidarity here. "I'm Ashley."
@Absolis
Getting shot at is not stopping Firebrand, he is taking Viral to the ground if he can.
@Wraithblade6@supertinyking@Absolis@Nightknight@thewizardguy

Firebrand flapped off as the beam shot off, piercing red light punching a hole in the dark, swirling clouds that blanketed the sky. He watched the armor stumble, fall to its knees, and topple back under the combined assault. It rested against a building, like a monument to fallen warriors everywhere. Firebrand tensed himself for what was next. A shaft of sunlight shined down through the hole it had created, lighting the last act of this evil little drama like a spotlight. Then the armor opened up and its occupied staggered out.

It was a surprise. Firebrand had expected someone much bigger. He'd imagined the armor peeling off and a giant emerging. He at least expected someone half as large as that armor, but he wasn't even that. He was bite sized compared to it. It was disheartening. He could see the young brave fool, stripped of all his armor, readily draw his blade and charge headlong into the jaws of death and the sight brought a smile to his face. That is, until he saw where the fool was headed. That was no good, Firebrand had promised that young man his protection. He reared back and dived.

He didn't beat his wings, but shot down like an arrow. His shadow fell across Viral's back. It was probably the devil may care attitude of a man convinced he was about to die, or perhaps some hunters instinct, that caused the beastman to leap through the air at his prey with the demon around. As he fell upon Viral all of Firebrands limbs lashed out, even his tail, to lock the beastman limbs and drive him into the dirt before he had a chance to complete his leap and strike Damien.
@Gentlemanvaultboy@Lurkerlurks@Lazy Rocktime@Lugubrious@Kafka Komedy@Pandapaw23@CaptainCaptcha So, uh, anyone else want to post again? Or is this just... down and out, as it were?

What @Lugubrious said. I'd love to keep going, bur even the GM seems to have quit on this.

It's a shame, but it's what always happens. Jojo RP come about so rarely, too.
Name: Ashley Chalk
Age: 16
Appearance: Tall and athletic with long, literally dirty blonde hair. Her body is constantly covered in a layer of a white, ash like substance, so she wears goggles to keep it from getting into her eyes as she moves. She also wears large jackets all the time.

Bio: Ashley is the child of a pair of prominent scientists specialized in developing weapons, gadgetry, and countermeasures for the heroic set. One day their laboratory came under attack and a fire quickly spread through the facility. Ashley, left alone in the lab and surrounded by roaring flames, set off an experimental fire extinguishing bomb in desperation. The experimental compound within the bomb put out the fire, but Ashley was not only covered in the stuff but inhaled a large quantity of it. The side effects of the bomb left her in her current state.

Ability: Ashley is covered, head to toe inside and out, in a self-perpetuating ash like substance. This substance is impervious to all manner of heat. If placed atop burning coals someone would be able to walk across them with no danger of being burned. If someone dived into molten rock they'd drown, but wouldn't have to worry about burning. Ashley can consciously generate large quantities of this substance and expel it from her skin, sometimes at high speeds. Ashley can not stop the ash from self perpetuation. Even if washed off completely her skin will be covered again withing a few minutes.

Child of a villain or a hero: Neither, but her parents have connections.

"If you want to know whether someone is trying to brainwash you pay attention to how much you're being fed. You're more malleable when your hungry and tired, so a brainwasher will try and keep you in that state." Charlie said, looking down at her own schedule. She frowned at the very last item on the list. Sparring? She'd have to fight other people, and it was mandatory? She wasn't exactly to thrilled at the prospect. She had a weak constitution and bruised really easily, but that wasn't what worried her. What if she enjoyed it? Like, a little too much? She'd read about it over and over again, once you made a mental connection between pleasure and hurting people you were done. May as well but a hockey mast and build a torture shack out in the middle of the desert because you'd just bought a one way ticket to slasher land.

She needed something to distract herself from that thought. "I'm sure it's just so mystical mumbo-jumbo though. Sitting under waterfalls and finding inner peace and all that jazz. If you ever get really scared that this is some kind of cult thing, try to quit. If they just let you leave it's safe. If they try to shame you into staying, or keep you anyway, it's probably a cult MK Ultra sort of thing."
