Ammy's eyes narrowed as she leaned forward and gave the man another sniff. His explanation held up at least a little. Blood was inherently filthy on a spiritual level. Men were crazed by blood. Swords were given their own malevolent will by blood. To work with blood was to stain your very soul, but he'd have to have waded through gallons of the stuff to get even a tenth of this smell and there was still that horrid scent buried underneath. She supposed he might actually be telling the truth, that he wasn't something wearing human skin waiting for the most opportune moment to play its hand, but the last time she'd assumed that a good women had died. There had been no other way, but that didn't mean it had ever sat right with her. If she'd seen through the damned foxes disguise sooner she might have found another way. She wouldn't be driven into a corner like that again. She would be watching this man.
It was then that Freeman wandered over. He wasn't hard to recognize, the gods shared stories among themselves of daring heroics and the adventures of mortals. Ammy had half listened to most of these stories while dozing, but the tale of the One Free Man had seeped into her head simply through simple repetition. It was a particularly attractive tale because it did not, as of yet, have an ending and the story of the Free Man was continually retold and analysed in anticipation of the glorious conclusion which everyone felt sure was just over the horizon.
He inquired as to her nature in that language shared by silent protagonists everywhere, and that set her tail to wagging. There was nothing quite as nice as meeting someone that spoke your language in a strange land. "...," she nodded her head and replied, introducing herself as Amaterasu, God of the Sun, and indicating her surprise that he could see her. She'd heard tell that his home was more on the technological side of the spectrum, and didn't expect anyone from such a world to be able to view her as she was.
She took a quick glance over at the man and black and found that the other legend in the room had struck up a conversation with him. She decided that it was probably safe for now. No one would be foolish enough to try anything with Samus Aran right there, not to mention the others in the room. If he was in some sort of disguise then it was because he needed it.
@Serious Face "What?" he said, looking up from his conversation with the spirit. "Oh yes, no, I'm fine down here. Are you all right?" He asked, rolling over onto his back and conspiratorially pointing to his heart before rubbing his hands in front of his face and blowing on them as though trying to warm them up on a cold day.
Can I just say I've been waiting for this sort of shonen as hell "split up and fight all the dudes" set up since, literally, I first started roleplaying?
"Oh, you're one of those perverts." v2 said, landing heavily before him in what looked like a parking lot. "I though you were just a luddite. Now this feels kind of dirty."
v2 looked him over. He didn't seem really hurt, which was worrying, and despite having yet to display any sort of ability like the others v2 didn't doubt that this guy knew how to take apart a robot. Really, this was the logically the worst possible opponent he could have picked out for himself. He wasn't thinking with his head right now, though. This was his heart, or at least the lines of code in his head that anticipated what the heart might feel, and his heart was telling him to deck this guy like the good little shonen protagonist that he was. Damn this heroic programming of his.
"It's really going to feel good beating him, though, so enjoy it."
Another aberrant thought, but also not a one he could honestly deny. v2 walked with an affixed swagger toward the guy, keyblade resting comfortably on his shoulder. "How could you tell I'm a robot anyway? Billions has been spent on making sure people don't think I'm a robot. Literally. Billions. I'd love to see the look on the old guys faces when they learn I have a tell."
Ammy's attention was diverted from the man in black by the pale corpulent creature beside her. At first she was led, mostly by the exposed and gently swaying tongue, that some sort of monster had waylaid that poor cloud creature who had delivered the message and had slipped in that way but one quick sniff dispelled that notion. Such a creature would stink of corruption and this one didn't even register a whiff of the stuff, especially when compared to the veritable walking miasma sitting opposite her across the table. At most there was vague hint of swamp water and, camouflaged almost completely by the surrounding spreads of lavish food, the scent of meals prepared in times long past.
Still, no matter how harmless it seemed, it wasn't getting this ham. She was all for feeding the hungry of the world, but that thing didn't seem as though it had gone hungry a day in its life. Besides which, you didn't just take offerings to the gods for yourself especially if those offerings were already in the gods mouth. In response she slowly sank her teeth deeper and deeper into the ham. Until the man in black spoke, causing her jaw to pop open in and forsake any claim on the ham.
She stared across the way at the man in black, narrowing her eyes. The mans senses were obviously very sharp. No one else had commented on the red markings running across her body, though she had no way of knowing whether that meant they just saw a normal wolf when they looked at her or if they had simply been inundated by so much strangeness over the course of some far-flung adventure that they had become numb to it. It was safe to assume that any random mortal wouldn't be able to see her as she was, or even any random legendary hero, but then she had already sensed that this one wasn't any random mortal. She gave him a knowing look, leaning in and giving the air in front of him a few sniffs before barking at him questioningly, as though asking why his form was so thoroughly hidden.
"By the blood, what have I gotten myself into?" he muttered to himself.
She followed his eyes over to the pale thing, looked back at him, and shook her head in silent solidarity. It was slightly comforting to know that, no matter what the two of them truly were, neither of them were quite...that.
Level 1 Day 1 Shinshu Fields, Nippon - Tetris Castle Reception Hall Interaction:@SuddenSardines
Lakitu was having problems. A messenger typically encountered many problems in the fulfillment of their duties from horrible weather to hostile natives, but those weren't the problems in this case. The weather was fine. Better than fine. The sun shone brightly in the lovingly painted skies of Nippon, a gentle breeze carrying the sweet cherry blossoms from the nearby tree in a twirling dance across the field. The native wasn't hostile either, from what he could tell. It was just young and stupid. It was young, stupid, and it had the letter.
Lakitu floated hastily after the little white ball of fur that bounded across the field, letter flapping in its mouth. Occasionally it would stop and look back to make sure the messenger was still following and that the game was still on, slowing down to keep his interest if its lead had gotten too great, then dart off quickly in a new direction. This wasn't Lakitu's fault. Lakitu's job had been to delver the letter to the white wolf with the red markings. The little guy was a white wolf with red markings. It was the only one he had seen. This was the fault, he decided, of the one who hadn't considered whether or not the wolf would be able to read.
The little wolf came to a stop near the big cherry blossom tree in the middle of the field, bouncing back and forth as Lakitu closed in before sprinting out of his reach around the back. Then there was a sudden thud, and a short, high-pitched yelp. Lakitu's eyes widened as panic flooded into his brain, and he reached into his cloud and hefted a red spiky ball over his head. Having problems with the recipient was one thing, but there was no way he was going to ruin his reputation by a letting some monster get hold of that letter! His professional pride at stake he charged valiantly around the tree, throwing arm primed to dispense spiny justice.
What he found, though, wasn't a monster. A wolf sat there, much lie the one he had been chasing for the better part of thirty minutes, its paw planted firmly on the back of its small counterpart. The little one wriggled furiously as the big one stared down at the open latter in front of it. It looked up after a moment at the messenger, turning its head quizzically. Lakitu cleared his throat and let the spiny drop from his hand back into the cloud as casually as possible. The big wolf made a contented little sound before looking back down and continuing to read amid the whines of the little one. When it finished it stepped back from the letter, letting the little one up in the process. It wriggled, leaped back up, and ran over beside the big one.
There was as odd moment, some strange sensation of lost time, and when Lakitu next looked at the letter in the moment before it arranged itself into a portal the YES had been circled in dark ink. The big wolf knelt down, lovingly nuzzled the little one, then stepped forward into the light...
Amaterasu appeared in the foyer of a vast western style castle amid many strangers from many lands, and was immediately hit with the stink. The foulness bored itself into her nose, blood and death and spiritual decay, and deep under all that something unnatural. The closest thing she could compare it to was the miasma given off by Yami and his despicable spawn. At first she thought this had been some sort of trap, the whole letter a ruse to bring her to some fetid place where she could be finished off, but as she tensely looked around the room she realized that the smell wasn't seeping out of walls. She laid her eyes upon a single black garbed man mixed in with the others. Had some sort of monster disguised itself and hidden among them? It wouldn't be the first time.
When the strange little creature had appeared, making its strange little sounds, she followed after it through the teleporter to a room laden with food. The scent here was almost enough to mask the smell of the man in black, and despite her worry she felt her mouth begin to water. She was never one to turn down food, and even though that guy was potentially dangerous and it was her duty since none of the others had noticed to look into it, she was also unexpectedly hungry. It was lucky for her then that the man in black had good taste so that she could do both. Ammy trotted up beside him to the table, ducking underneath and rising up on the other side. Placing her forepaws on table opposite him she started digging into a whole roasted ham while watching him warily.
Kingdom: A small forsaken land called Clover in the Capcom Kingdom
Written Description: A larger than average wolf with fiery eyes and fur that shines as white as the driven snow, only those with great spiritual awareness or particularly open minds can see the distinctive red markings and divine instrument resting on her back. Fewer still can look totally past the mortal shell to glimpse the beautiful young goddess within.
Personality: A combination of good natured generosity and boredom ensure that Ammy never wants for something to do. She will help anyone in need, including taking the time to feed wild animals, and take any challenge presented to her. This charity comes from a place of deep love, both of humans and the natural world, but it's hard to deny that the resulting praise and adoration doesn't play at least some part in it. She is a God after all, and faith is her lifeblood. To this end she can step back and use a subtle paw when dealing with earthly problems, but prefers a brute force approach befitting her more brawn than brains nature. She's the sort who rushes into danger without hesitation, putting herself forward as a matter of course whenever a monster needs slaying or a source of spiritual corruption needs stamping out. These things are her responsibility as a divine being.
Less divine (depending on who you ask) are her short attention span, generally disrespectful attitude, fondness for both treasure and voluptuous young women, and disapproval at any of these flaws being pointed out. While she enjoys hanging around and listening to people someone going on for too long at her will just put her to sleep unless it's something of dire importance, and sometimes even then. Despite being a wolf Ammy is pretty easy to read and readily displays whatever she's feeling at the moment.
Game: Okami
Current Story: While content to let her son/present incarnation on Earth (god stuff, complicated) deal with the last crisis, this Mugen situation is dangerous enough to warrant her personal intervention. To this end she has re-assumed a mortal form to answer the capital's call for heroes, leaving the kid to look after Nippon, though she's discovered that having two mortal incarnations running around at the same time has left her greatly diminished.
Weapon(s):Divine Retribution - A green reflector wreathed in bright red flames resting on Amaterasu's back, the weakest of all reflector class Divine Instruments. A functional and balanced weapon, excelling in neither speed nor power, Ammy is capable of lashing out with the reflector at close range. When used as a sub-weapon the reflector can be used as a shield to block frontal attacks. With the proper timing the enemy can even be knocked off balance by this, setting them up for the devastating Izuna Otoshi piledriver should Ammy sink her teeth into them during this time.
Lv 1Sunrise - Amaterasu's default Celestial Brush ability. By drawing a fully enclosed circle in the sky Ammy causes the sun to appear, changing night into day.

Strengths
Beasthood - Ammy is a wolf, with the strength, speed, natural weapons, and keen senses that entails. Even without her divine empowerment she is able to go at the enemy with tooth and claw, her senses are sharp enough to lead her to long buried treasure, her agility is great enough to let her thrust herself though the air and leap off walls to reach greater heights, and she's strong enough to run at full speed with a grown man on her back.
Godhood - Amaterasu is a divine being. Flowers spring up in her wake and form under her to cushion her falls. He nature give her the ability to resist curses and corruption of sufficient strength to turn normal people to stone outright, if only for a short while. Her spiritual senses are as sharp as her animal ones, allowing her to perceive things beyond the scope of ordinary mortals such as ghosts and hidden monsters. She is also immortal and if "killed" can return to life at a later date, though this would take many, many, many years.
Good Doghood - Ammy is a big wolf that strangers not only allow to hang around, sometimes in their homes or with their children, but interact and talk with as though she were a family pet. Even people that can't perceive her true nature seem to unburden themselves on this strange animal, sharing of their problems and worries. This doesn't apply to all people, but enough find her trustworthy for it to be odd.
Celestial Brush - A brush capable of manipulating the fabric of local reality to cause various effects should the user know the proper brush strokes. When the brush is in use time halts until either the user is done or runs out of ink, the effects of the brush going off once time is resumed. Can be used without specific strokes to doodle on things, cover them in ink, and create shooting stars in the night sky. People can even be circled in order to get their attention. Actually Ammy's tail.
Weaknesses Ammy can't fly, can't get good traction on ice, and while capable of swimming can't keep it up too long or dive under the water. Her celestial brush can't be used in places that are heavily cursed or corrupted, and each effect she causes takes up a certain amount of her celestial ink. Though it regenerates by itself if she uses up her entire supply she loses her divine powers and becomes an ordinary wolf for a short period of time. Most importantly, Ammy is incapable of speech so even if she figured out the entire plot at the very beginning of the adventure she wouldn't be able to share her insights with anyone.
v2's weapon flashed into his hand the moment he heard voices in the hallway. He took one last look at the two kids, mentally cursed Seth for dragging the fleet into his wild goose chase, and strode out of the room. He slammed the door shut behind him and tapped his blade against the doorway. A satisfying click echoed down the hall as the door locked behind him. He took the measure of the three people at the opposite end of the hallway and felt a smirk that was completely beyond his control grow across his face. He had to smile when fighting villains. It was in his programming.
Then the hallway exploded, and with it went the grin. He reached out and grabbed Ryteb by the shoulder. "This is a hospital, you can't just throw around attacks like that." He looked down the hallway, his scanners cutting through the dust to pick out the shapes of the opponents. He locked on the big guy. The one that had made those disparaging comments about robots. "Divide and conquer, and for heaven sake take it outside." With that his rocket feet flared to life and he shot off through the debris like a guided missile, aiming to hit his target and carry him out through the window at the end of the hall before he even knew what was happening.
