Can we complain about ourselves and our terrible habits? I think I’m going to do that.

I’m really sick and tired of being in this sort of role-playing purgatory where my creative passion lingers in a dead zone. I’ve never been a better writer than I am now and here I am not actively feeling the same bite I did back a few years ago (let’s say 2007 to like 2010). I mean I’ve tried all the tricks in the book to be inspired consistently and Pach full well knows my inspiration has been flaky in recent years. But every single time it disappears it is for this short ass time. I mean I think 2013 was the most active I’ve been in years for role-playing prose.

I’m also sick and tired of me subconsciously sabotaging and destroying my own role-plays by either activity, arguing, or what-have-you. I love GMing, and as much as I prefer to be a player sometimes it’s not viable. Why can’t I keep anything afloat after I finished the one role-play (saga) I finished a few years ago? It’s like I finally completed a role-play without excessive time-skips and what happens after? Everything fails. Speaking of, I have an apologetic PM to send to two people.

I’m also not sick of “anime” (could you guys find a more trite thing to generalize and complain about, really?) role-plays, I’m sick of one’s that are inconsistent or ridden with plotholes as well as quality drops.

As for less self-focused points: I don’t like the way drama always rears its head and ends up killing a role-play through reputation or just squeezing the OOC to an awkward point. But yeah, most of this was in casual role-plays. I had once a guy argue with me that my race restrictions were not appreciated by the “furry community” because I wouldn’t let him write a gary stuish fire-bending dragon in a post-apocalyptic low magic universe! The nerve of me!

I’d also like people to stick to role-plays for longer than a month on end, I know this is a very minority issue as there are months/years old projects in all three of the main role-playing sections. But some of the nice casual role-plays I liked vanished too fast for my own taste.

I’m sick of writing CS’s, but I understand why I need to.

If Guardians fight in smaller groups or alone, then they'd be better at one-on-one fights.This argument is pointless. Spies with bows, poison and daggers make armour useless. :D

Suburban Roleplay - Pretend you're Sims

"Slice of Life" role-plays tend to be either very short-lived or never get off the ground in my experience and whilst I have been "writing" Sims stories since I was like twelve, I've never really been in a role-play of that nature that lasted very long. Maybe I'm picky but quality writing has always been a problem of mine when it comes to the genre as well. Though yeah, this isn't the first interest check I've responded to.

Could be a nice distraction, I don't know.

I dislike when people fail to understand that people come here to rp for fun, as a hobby to enjoy the company of others as opposed to some so harsh that it makes this place seem like a job or chore.There is a level of intellect required to write in general but that is what the community is for, to help people learn and grow... not hinder.

I have fun when I do what you call "work", I like crafting an enjoyable experience that isn't one-dimensional or ridden with inconsistencies. I mean first drafts of anything are always a mess, but even since I was like 13 or 14 I've seen fun in caring about my hobby beyond a fleeting distraction.

You character has been rangering in the Valarian wilderness, right? Raven and Rali have already expressed interest in Vespar, so that would give me four players there. Veitmyke and Headphones are both currently alone in Ferros, with Veitmyke's character in the middle of an ambush and Headphone's character recieving a mission from the Ferronian Archmage.

Being a ranger from Valaria, you'd be a useful travel companion for Skye (headphones) who is essentially being sent to hunt and bring in a dangerous Feral mage in Valaria. Since Veitmyke's character is a mercenary, he could also be useful as a disposable, hired sword. I would like to try to get your characters together.

Valarian/Valealian countryside, it's nearby forests (mountains?) and such yeah. Mostly sticking to villages, hamlets, and outposts over cities and what not.

Bolded sounds wonderful, assuming they are also down with the idea.

I suppose I’m ready to get involved in whatever, whenever – I guess. My CS is up-to-date and seems I’m approved to post ICly, though I’m not sure how I’m going to get the engine running per ce. I think you suggested a “dedicated post” or something for people to springboard off of? I guess I’d like to figure out what other characters I’ll likely be running into and how best to communicate with those players? I don’t know. Maybe I will figure something out.

But with all of that said, I hope the new profile is up to spunk and all that.
