| HISTORY: |
Wonder Woman has been in a constant flux, her memories telling her so many stories of who she is and what she represents. She’s been told she’s the daughter of Zeus, a warrior princess of the Amazons, a student of the martial arts, an elite operative for the agency known as SHIELD, and a herald of justice. She isn’t one of these things— she is all of them. Born Diana Prince in Gateway City, the girl that became Wonder Woman had three lifetimes worth of trials.

From her beginnings in Team 7, a black ops unit operating under authority from the agency known as SHIELD, to her awakening as an amazon and demi-goddess Wonder Woman has found herself tested by many as injustice plagued the planet. Challenged by gods, warlords, corrupt governments, gangs, corporations, mystics, and monsters Diana has refused to back down where evil overshadows good and she refuses to let it go unpunished. Her values have had many people unite behind her as they coined her a “superheroine” alongside many others of her ilk. But few of them have shown themselves to stand with her when things looked the most bleak… at least for a time.

In 2012, Diana returned to Gateway City and to America and began fighting injustice as she had in Eastern Europe, but it was here that she became in full-view of the media and the public as she defeated a sea monster summoned by Circe to destroy the pacific seaboard. She was coined “Wonder Woman” and the rest becomes history. Following this event she would go on to fight many who aligned themselves with evil and sin such as Silver Swan and Cheetah. As time would pass she would come to side with Superman and Charles Xavier on the Mutant Rights issue, assertively opposing assertions of a law that would bring more suffering and injustice. Nobody listened. When Magneto attacked the White House Diana aided in defense, but did not do it out of sympathy for President Kelly.

Declining Luthor’s JLA initiative, Diana has fought independently, continuing to spread her ideals. However these ideals have marked Diana in a bad light as conservative media paints her a ruthless intolerant extremist; and after her most recent encounter with business savant and medical expert, Cylvia Cyber, more people are starting to be wary of Diana and her brand of justice. As things turn up… SHIELD Director Amanda Waller looks to Diana with familiarity, confusion, and dread.

2016 is going to be hell.

Other Friends & Allies
Steven Trevor - Former lead operative of SHIELD’s Team 7 and Diana’s former comrade. Given he is a special agent directly under Amanda Waller, Diana’s relationship with Steve is often times complicated and Diana doesn’t feel like she can entirely trust him.

Edward Indelicato - Lead Detective on Gateway City Police Department’s Special Cases Squad and oddly an ally Diana has come to trust.

Enemies & Rivals
Circe - Diana’s nemesis. Similar to Thor’s nemesis, Loki, Circe taunts Diana with countless schemes for apparently no reason. She’s completely hard to predict and much more difficult to deal with. Diana fears the day when Circe and Loki work together.

Amanda Waller - The current Director of SHIELD, and the former Commanding Officer of Team 7. Diana has a checkered relationship with Waller whom she believes in completely untrustworthy given her support to unjust laws and actions. Often times Diana does see her as a mirror of herself; the individual who is as ruthless and uncompromising as she is but on the opposite political plane. For years Waller believed Diana Prince to be dead until Diana’s reappearance as Wonder Woman.

Cylvia Cyber - A genius businesswoman, politician, and medical expert that continues to elude consequence. A co-funder of the Justice League of America, Cylvia is a cunning foe for Diana much like Lex Luthor is for Superman. Diana swears one day all of her ills will catch up with her and then the people will refuse to turn a blind eye. That will be a good day.

Cheetah - A former archaeologist that mutated into a anthropomorphic Cheetah; a mutation that darkened the once ambitious and eager woman into a monster of sorts. A monster Diana has had to put down on several occasions.

Ares - The Greek God of War finds himself at odds with Diana due to his attempts to manipulate the citizens of Gaia like he did in ages past. Diana has put a stop to his plans on several occasions.

I did a brief shot at Diana in Henry’s “Shattered Justice” game, but it sort of teetered out before I made a second post with her (it took me awhile to figure out how to go with her). I want to properly incorporate her in this game and run a Diana without as many walls for other players who might want to play Donna or Cassie. I’m taking my love of Greek Mythology and reading back up on it to reinvigorate my focus with character and plot ideas as well am looking forward to dealing with Marvel characters such as Thor.

I’m not going to lie, this Diana is different than the one most of us grew up with in the DC Animated Universe. But there is aspects of her mainstream continuity that I am using as a central point of development. Unlike my first go at Wonder Woman this one is a lot more amazonian and olympian but without removing the “Agent Diana Prince” aspect I’ve enjoyed every since I read her run where the writers made her depowered and more focused on her wit and tenacity rather than her artifacts and superpowers. Still, Diana is here. Believe me.

So, this happened.

He was a supporter of the The Mutant Registration Act and voted for Robert Kelly to become president. Oliver just wanted to protect the powerless from the powerful.

I don't understand this line of thought at all. The MRA is the opposite of protecting the liberties and lives of mutant citizens.
So despite everyone’s AMAZING support, after some thinking I think I’m going to drop my bid for Superman. Don’t panic though, because you will see me write Clark Kent… someday, someday soon. I imagine the big question is: why? I feel like while I have a lot sketched out for Superman I don’t have to direction to lead the story to a solid cohesive conclusion and I feel like I want to see how Morden’s Clark interacts as a whole. That said, I will be re-applying for Wonder Woman… in a hour or two. I have to make some edits.

So I'm going to respectively step aside.

With deep ancestry descending from Capua, Italy— Ignatius is a Roman in culture and ethnicity. Whilst Ignatius’ family claims that the Dontus line is entirely composed of pureblood Romans, the likelihood of that being based in truth is unlikely due to the presence of various ethnicities and nationalities in Capua for many years. Whilst Ignatius is most certainly distinctly Roman he probably has traces of Goth, German, and Greek. More individually, Ignatius is a tall man that appears Roman in origin with mid-length dark brown-to-black hair and olive complexion. He is well built due to his legionnaire training and conditioning, and contains a fierce and unflinching yet wounded look to him.

Ignatius Dontus was born in the Imperium Romanum thirty-four years ago in the city of Constantinople to a family of Roman lineage that had represented central Roman politicians in Capua for several generations until they were forced to vacate Italy by the Ostrogoths. The Dontus family were Patricians and as such had many expectations that were pressed upon to each individual members including political affiliations, social ideologies, and strict teachings that had leant the dynasty a particular reputation that was inherently negative— especially towards the Peregrinus classes of foreigners. As such the first ideals that Ignatius came to know were fashioned out of hatred, bigotry, nationalist agendas, and classist elitism. Such values would not be corrected for many years to come, as Ignatius often reflects upon.

Following one of the traditions of his house, Ignatius looked to serve the imperium in a different manner than his father had and instead decided to follow his father’s brother, Celsus, who had created his own legacy within the imperium’s military hierarchy as a Legatus. Ignatius’ inspiration was not disregarded by his father, though the disappointment that he’d not want to follow in his footsteps was prevalent and a series of passive-aggressive letters sent to Ignatius during his early career in the legion. Upon the time of the completion of his training and preparation for his first assignment there were no large scale wars going on within the imperium, though following the Anastasian War’s conclusion some years earlier there wasn’t exactly peace or stability either— it was a world on the edge and there were plenty of opportunities for battle.

Those opportunities turned into realities. Ignatius’ first assignments were alongside the fringe borders north of Constantinople in a fortress that was designated as a outlook outpost to keep an eye on activities of nomadic heretics such as the slavs, avars, and bulghars. The majority of Ignatius’ early career was dealing with these tribes and several conflicts that saw him gaining experience against minor threats to the imperium. Days turned to years— but then something far more pertinent became a reality. Called into the tent of his commander, he was brought into a discussion about transferring him towards more of a position worthy of his talents. Noting his talent with tactics, archery, and his connection to the Dontus dynasty he gave a missive that sent Ignatius back to the capital to serve a more central legion. His new commander was an aspiring commander with ambitions and a staunch connection to the emperor himself— his name was Belisarius Falvius.

Conflicts between the imperium and the Persians of the Sassanid Empire had finally began to get heated once again within the earliest years of Ignatius’ service under Belisarius and Ignatius alongside his commander and others gathered a reputation following the battles of Dara & Callinicum. Ignatius’ experiences alongside Belisarius made him reconsider his thoughts on foreigners serving so highly in the empire and made him speculate if Theodoric was simply just the exception and not the rule. However, such favorability between him and his commander would change two years later when they were assigned to handle the Nika Riots in Constantinople. The horrors of war and the reality of the men he was fighting with would shock Ignatius to his core when they committed a massacre against the rioters at the Hippodrome. The blood of 30,000 people was now on all of their hands.

Once Ignatius began to backtrack his investigation’s reports— he saw ways they could’ve met diplomatic ends with the rioters, but he knew that resorting to quasi-genocide had been the only answer that the Emperor had given to Belisarius and the other commanders. Feeling unease with the empire, Ignatius began investigating the affairs that he could using his contacts from his family’s relations in Constantinople. As Ignatius went further down the rabbit hole, things only became exponentially more complicated as the actual politics and realities of the imperium became revealed— he learned more about the rioters that he had more or less executed in a dishonorable and brutal manner, but that the darkness of Constantinople was scarier than whatever had been ingrained into his head as a child. He thought to confront Belisarius— who laughed at his moralizing of people against the imperium as well as nearly killing Ignatius after painting him a traitor.

When Ignatius awoke he was disowned by his family, painted by Belisarius (and as a product, his people) as a traitor who aligned with the rebels known for the Nika Riots, and a dishonorable fiend who attempted to kill the honorable Belisarius in his sleep. Somehow, Ignatius had everything he ever had taken from him and before he was hunted down like a dog he made to escape the city and the imperium. He fled for many months, travelling from Byzantium to Gaul and then Britannia. Finding work as a hiresword, Ignatius found work fighting Saxons and other threats as he began trying to find purpose back in his life… or what little of it he had left.

Now a stranger in a foreign land, Ignatius soon found himself in associated with the people of Camelot. Following an incident regarding rescuing a noble’s daughter from treacherous individuals and solving a conspiracy against them he found himself knighted by Brythonic conventions and rites— and now he potentially sits with the rest of the knights at the famous round table.

I'll go at the doc, read up on what I miss and see if I still have Hank Jr in me.
Only way I could see a Damian contest is if I summoned @Dblade26
Weird to have a Damian before a Dick or Babs.
The Kryptonian invasion, for instance, feels like something that should happen "onscreen," as it were.

Yeah, I can see where this perspective comes from. But I thought using the backstory the GM set up I could throw that or something like that to add even more weight to Luthor's agenda with the Justice League instead of just trying to one-up him.
Perhaps there's another point of difference: I'm not too hot on legacy characters showing up in games that are set fairly early on into someone's superheroing career. If someone turned up tomorrow and wanted to play Supergirl I would try to accommodate them as best I could but until that point I won't make reference to anything like that IC.

Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.

@The Grey Warden I'd quite like to see you take a crack at Ollie, though I did enjoy your Selina last time I read it, so either would be good. For the sake of the game I think Green Arrow would be more significant.

We obviously very much disagree subjectively here, but for everyone else who is feeling wary: the reason I set up things as I do isn’t for reasons that have no weight behind them, I am not flippant and I do not create pointless structures and I detest the implication. I set up Kara because I intend to incorporate her in the stories I want to tell. I have a very “big picture” setup when it comes to these superhero CS’s as I think things should be rounded out in structure from launch.
