Here’s a groundbreaking thought, you could discuss something like an adult or you can keep bickering and continuing this passive aggressive dialogue. Up to you. I suggest the former.
but if if didn't show people cussing and violence to sell its game I'll eat something I shouldn't.

There was a lot of trailers/press, but the central trailers were:

Basically all three trailers were reminiscent of other types of films— hood crime dramas, heist films, etc. I mean, yeah, there’s profanity and violence but those are underlying themes of the entire game; which IMO isn’t a bad thing.
You're telling they weren't hoping people would bitch about how overly violent it was to get people interested in purchasing it wasn't part of their plan? They know how marketing works...and they aren't the only ones...

I think at this point Rockstar has matured as a studio and is just trying to make games that they want to— they know no matter what they do they will get controversial articles or videos depicting their game in whatever framing that the author wants. I sincerely doubt they are going into a new game with the mindset of “let’s make this as controversial as possible, ha ha ha!”. That’s stupid and intellectually absent.
And don't even get me started how well Huniepop did because of them.

Actually Huniepop did well because of marketing through well recognized internet personalities who promoted the game through their articles and youtube channels. Whilst yeah, the “controversy” was there and had an impact it was not the major selling point of the game.

For the most part on this topic I agree that controversy doesn’t make games— though it can (and has in the last thirty years quite well) helped the hype machine turn and inspired people to pick up games to see what the big deal was about. In video games very often the case is “any publicity is good publicity” because generally only two major countries are strict on legislation regarding them (Australia, Germany).
By unnecessary I mean things like fluffing things up, which is something I see a lot.

In my honest opinion, there is nothing wrong with filling things out to make for more interesting reading— longer form writers (such as Rtron, Myself, Nutts, etc.) feel the need to “fill the gap” because we feel that RPing is more engaging, involving, and interesting when it doesn’t read like a script or chatroom log.

people take from two sentences to an entire paragraph to describe a single movement in a fight scene,

Being direct is one thing, but sometimes a line of combat action has more intricacies besides “throwing a punch” or “dodging to the left” – the arena sub-forum is full of this, I wager. Language is beautiful and inspiring when it doesn’t read like static.

There was once a situation when a player wrote 20.000 words, I kid you not, of their character in an empty room.

I do not have the context of the content of the post beyond it being an empty room with one individual, so I cannot really comment on that; but I doubt I would be able to write 20,000 words in a traditional RP in the same scenario.
but then it becomes a problem when every single post of theirs is unnecessarily long.

What is unnecessarily long?

But I do agree with Nuts, my average post is around 1,000+ characters and I feel anything underneath by my hands is worthless. Such posts underneath that threshold do not have proper introspection or characterization to warrant a post and are decidedly uninspired.
Threw up a reply so Morden can keep his rhythm when he is available to post.

Diana nodded— as much as she didn’t want to admit it, there was some wisdom in what Clark was telling her.

A fight with the Justice League would only paint both of them as villains and give their enemies easy opportunity to attack them; Diana had acted brashly in the past and it had cost her a deal of reputation before. Although she didn’t care what people thought of her, in the last year she had done some sharp thinking on how to become more aware of the consequences of her own actions and how the public perspective was not as unimportant as she once believed. In their world there was many ways of combat and it wasn’t so simple that all she needed to do was do good to be seen as heroic in her ideology. The machinations of modern politicians, journalists, and other personalities were those that she needed to keep in mind even if she thought little of them and was confident in herself. But when the snakes twisted Diana’s words and actions to alienate her from the people she needed to protect… then that posed as a problem. She truly wished that she could have her friend's intelligence when it came to matters of consideration.

“Are you certain you aren’t the one blessed with the wisdom of Athena? That is all a fair and acceptable defense.”

Diana smirked as she looked around at the neighborhood of New Troy, as cameras flashed and journalists shuttered through the streets at the sight of Wonder Woman and Superman. There were questions screamed at both of them, but only one journalist had the teeth to cut through the crowd. Diana admired the tenacity, but she had little patience for reporters a fact she telegraphed to Superman with a nod and a glance.

“I’ll let you handle this. When you are finished meet me in the usual spot, there is more to the conversation that I imagine you do not want being overheard.”

Diana lowered her voice into a hushed whisper.

“I did not come to Metropolis without need to.”

Wonder Woman pushed herself upwards— levitating in the air, sending a polite wave to the crowd as she took off into the skies above.
Well I’m going to phase out Alex, Yeshua, and maybe Penny somehow by next time skip— said time skip will also introduce any new characters I accept or design.
@TimeMasterX That's great news! Apart from the whole bearded emo bit, of course.

I know I said I'd have Supes/Lex up last night but... the chips didn't end up falling that way. Tonight, people, you have my word on that.
