Missions that go well are overrated.
Did you guys hear? It's official... Spiderman is now a part of the MCU!
Alrighty, posted. Let's show these Rogues who they're messing with.
Following the now conscious Ditto's orders, Hellfire made his way towards the Flash's icy antagonist. The Rogue was shielded by an expensive-looking overturned car, shooting beams of ice in Hellfire's direction. So far, none had hit their target, instead covering the road with sheets of slippery ice. However, Gabe knew that the beams would eventually hit him, and when they did, they would send people running. But he wasn't people. A ball of transparent black fire shielded the metahuman, evaporating the beams of ice the moment they came within his vicinity. Getting ever closer to Snart, Hellfire called out to him. "Excuse me, Mr. Snart?" He got no answer. "I couldn't help but notice that you're still firing that cold cannon at me." He stepped over a piece of rubble and kept going. "Now, I don't know if you've realised that it's having no effect on me, but I sure have. Do you know why that is?" Still no answer. "Okay, let me explain. You see your fellow Rogue over there, Heatwave? His gun could go up against yours pretty evenly, right? His fire would cancel out your ice, and vice versa. But that's the thing: Heatwave's fire comes from a gun. A flamethrower. A thing. But my fire... that's all me. It's my essence. You see, Cold, I can manipulate all elements of the sun. I am the sun." Hellfire took one final step, standing nose to nose with Captain Cold. "I am fire." Cold swung at Hellfire, almost catching him unawares. At the last millisecond, the pyromancer ducked underneath his arm, sending a fist to Snart's ribs. He followed it up with an elbow to the chin, knocking the Rogue down onto the ground. The guy was a good leader, a good marksman, a good tactician, but he could definitely use some hand-to-hand training. However, the elbow certainly wasn't the end of Cold. He fired a shot from his cold cannon, nicking Gabe on right shoulder, slowly getting up from the ground. He fired again and again, but this time had no effect on Gabe, who melted the ice with his black flame. Hellfire punched Snart, bursting his nose, following it up with a knee to the face. Snart went down, out cold. I have got to stop with those, thought Gabe. He turned to look at his teammates, all engaging their respective Rogues, and called out, "Cold's out of commission!" He cuffed the unconscious con and lifted into the air, ready to fly over to any teammate that may need assistance.
Should be able to post at around 3-4 AEST.
Lol, I love how Bolt's just casually ignoring the alarms.
Oh right, I get you now. Yeah, that was Exodus, just adding Beck's reply to my post. After reading through your post again, it suddenly made sense. Wow. The power of re-reading.
Nothing too big to worry about, Crim, but I'm pretty sure your post retcons mine. Or maybe I just read it wrong. Although it makes sense that she thinks Frosty's the leader. Hellfire isn't the best example of a leader.
As a side note, the Outsiders are currently engaging the new Royal Flush Gang. In the pre mission briefing Fenrir said how if his team listened to his orders then the RFG would crumble, then in his head imagined Hellfire adding "like a house of cards", realizing how much he was missing Gabe's crap sense of humor. Nice to see me and GG are on the same page about that!
I really need that crossover now.
Gabe tried his very best not to swagger into his room. He'd already failed to keep his smile from looking like a Joker impersonation. Combine that with a stroll, and his teammates would think that something had happened to him, that he was sick, that he'd gone off the edge. If there was something Gabe Harlan didn't do, it was swagger, especially after that kerfuffle with Granny; that old lady sure had a way of draining her prisoner's energy... by the end of it they're left looking like Sleeping Beauty. Gabe laughed, then gasped in shock. What was happening to him? First he's strutting, then he's laughing at his own terrible jokes? If there was one thing Gabe knew, it was that Sleeping Beauty was no joke. One of Granny's best operatives, she'd given him and Fenrir more trouble than most -- that woman went to great lengths to please her master. Gabe shuddered. He was thankful to find focus replacing his too-good-humour. He put his costume on, every part but the helmet, and checked his wristpad, an upgrade courtesy of Jin. Opening the program he'd installed to it, he checked his readings. BLOOD PRESSURE 120/80 BODY TEMPERATURE 122ยบ F HEARTRATE 72 BPM RESPIRATORY RATE 20 BPM RADIOACTIVITY 0 Bq Satisfied that he was safe to go out into the field, Gabe ran to the monitor room, carrying his helmet. Frowning as he passed an unconscious Ditto, he entered the monitor room. He immediately felt the tension in the room, and the frown deepened. Ditto's reason for taking a nap, he could easily understand; assuming that this particular Ditto was Killian, then the only possible explanation would be that something had happened to one of his clones. That, or he got lost and thought the wall was the way into the monitor room. However, the tension was less easy for Gabe to wrap his head around. What could the tension possibly be about? Charles, Cassandra, Tea, that new girl, Miss Mountain, and Beck were in the room, and, defying all laws of physics, Gabe's frown deepened even further. He probably looked ridiculous. But he didn't care; his concern was elsewhere -- where was Jin? She should be here by now. "If something's going down, we need to get out there now. And, you two. Cassandra, Question. Play nice," said Beck, and Gabe suddenly understood where the tension was coming from. Great. The team know-it-all versus the team scryer. Wouldn't that be a battle to behold? "Sorry I'm late," he said, breaking the silence, "But as Beck said, we should probably go. The guys that aren't here yet will catch up." He turned to walk out of the monitor room, speaking over his shoulder. "Beck, could you fill me in while we make our way to wherever we're going?" Beck nodded. "You got it, boss." Gabe shook his head inwardly. That was professional. What a great example for the only senior member in the room to lead. Gabe laughed. Yeah, he needed to work on his leadership skills.
