I would argue that there is so much more to making a comic book great then that, but that's a digression from the point I'm trying to make.Yes, we should of course fight challenging enemies, but it should not be a contest between us for who can show off their powers. We shouldn't fight enemies based on which ones can take the hardest beating just so that we can all flex our characters powers and see who is the coolest in a fight.

Once again, I can't help but agree with you. You make excellent points. Great post, by the way.
Norman Merlyn/Dark Goblin

Dark Goblin was exhilarated. Finally, some action. Sure, it had only been a day since he arrived in New York City, but watching the guests of the opening gala scream in terror as he blew a hole open in Queen Consolidated NYC with his explosive arrows filled him with a certain happiness, a feeling he couldn't quite put his finger on. Something bordering on sadism and sociopathy. Oh well.

He glided into the building, observing the fear in the party guests. He didn't really have a goal. Mainly to kill some people, blow up a bit more of the building, spread terror through New York, that sort of thing. He unloaded some more explosive arrows into the crowd, killing some and injuring others. And then he arrived.

Peter Queen/Spiderbolt

Spiderbolt swung into the building, sweeping as many guests as he could out of harm's way. But it wasn't enough. Some were killed, others were severely injured. Guilt immediately engulfed him, quickly changing into anger. He then channeled that anger at Dark Goblin, upon whom he unleashed a fury of attacks, knocking him off his glider and onto the tiled, expensive, floor below. He landed on top of the Goblin, enraged.
"You murdering psychopath! You killed these people! Innocent people!" he screamed, punching the Goblin.
"And I plan on killing so much more," retorted the Goblin, knocking Spiderbolt off him and getting back on his feet.
Agreed, agreed and agreed. I tried to acknowledge all posts, but found it quite difficult to as I'd been away for the first few days of the RP and had yet to introduce Hellfire. Apologies for the inconveniences I, and any of the others, may have caused.
Peter Queen/Spiderbolt

It was well into the night, and the opening gala was underway. Peter wore a black tuxedo, hand-crafted by one of the best suit makers in the world, his supersuit underneath it. His bow and quiver were hidden in a bin out in the back alley behind Queen Consolidated NYC. Just in case. There was an insane terrorist on the loose, after all.

Peter was drinking a glass of 1982 Chateau Lafite Rothschild, red wine at its finest, and conversing with his guests. They were congratulating him on advancing the company, and how they hope his playboyish ways won’t get in the way. Telling him things he barely listened to. Scanning the scene of the party, Peter spotted someone he hadn’t seen in a long time, mainly due to his crime fighting- Harry Merlyn. His best friend. His best friend with whom he’d spent countless hours with, engaging in all kinds of fun things that only billionaires can afford.

Harry wore a blue suit, also hand-crafted by the same people that made Peter’s tuxedo. He had redish-brown hair, cut short, and blue eyes. Average height. Average body build. Nothing much, but enough to attract most girls. Peter left his guests in mid-sentence, approaching his best friend.

“Harry Merlyn.”
“Peter Queen.”
What followed was the warmest embrace you have ever seen by two straight men. One that lasted a long time. Until-
BOOM!
An explosion in the building. Then some laughter. Belonging to none other than the Dark Goblin.
The guests screamed and ducked for cover as glass rained down upon them. Peter tackled Harry to the ground, shielding him from any debris that fell down.
“You okay, Harry?” asked Peter.
“I’m fine. Peter- what’s happening?” replied Harry, panicking.
“I don’t know,” lied Peter, “Catch up later, okay?”
With that, Peter rushed outside, extracting his bow and quiver from the bin and discarding his tuxedo in their place. As he rushed back into the building, maniacal laughter could be heard from above.
Peter Queen/Spiderbolt

Once Peter was satisfied that everything was in check, he headed back to the limousine and drove to the hotel he was staying at- supposedly the best one in New York City. He had heard that John Wayne, a fellow billionaire, was also staying there. 'What would a seventeen year old kid be doing to be staying at a penthouse in New York?' he thought, as he was walking down the hallway to his penthouse suite after collecting his key. 'Who knows? He may be a costumed vigilante too,' he jokingly thought, not realising how right he was.
Hey Zerofighter, I saw you posted that Manchester saw Grundy at NYC... The thing is, you also posted that he saw Spiderbolt and Dark Goblin fighting... and that was in Star City. You need to catch a plane from Star City to NYC. Just thought I'd let you know, sorry for the inconvenience.
Peter Queen/Spiderbolt

Peter Queen had arrived in New York City, and was on his way to the building that would soon be Queen Consolidated’s New York headquarters. He would be hosting an opening gala there that night, all to keep his ‘playboy’ image believable, and he was going to check that everything was in order. It was going to be a large function, with live music and entertainment, drinks and food, among other things. He hoped everything would go well... He wanted to respect his uncle's legacy, after all. Little did he know, a certain goblin was planning to crash his party…
