My Waifu

You sir have won the internet.
How about a mace or single handed hammer?

A mace would be fine, Man-at-arms don't get heavy armor or great sized weaponry, but they make up for it with reach and versatility.

Alright farmer boy wanting to become a warrior, not the most original back-story, but I like it. :P

So I'll have Nobody post next, then we will follow this post order. Thankfully the first posts are just introductions.

@GreivousKhan followed by @Vordak then @Skallagrim then @Stekkmen then comes @ImportantNobody ending finally with @EmptyArmor.

Also I'm thinking of a simple grace period of 3 days to post within before you skipped in the post order, which could mean a free hit on you if you miss the dead line, if something comes up that makes posting difficult just let us know and extension can easily be made. This isn't ranked or anything so the posting period is simply to make sure this progresses at a steady pace. Likely this is base human tier so post are rather easy and straight forward. You probably wont need more than a few hours to post in most cases if your online. So this might move quicker than you might think given our size. (last melee had ten ppl in all and moved rather briskly.)

I'll keep the order in the OP.

I don't believe I'm missing anything else so there we go! ^^

If there are any questions feel free to ask.

If they can make a character in time.

Also it's @Skallagrim then @Stekkmen then Empty.
<Snipped quote>
Combined with the "assimilating," bit is fine I guess, but the problem with it is Raelis can feel the ground. So he'd know if it were still covered in slime at least within 8 meters. So my whole maneuver would not have been viable to begin with so he'd have never used it. It's not like he can't tell the difference between air and slime with his claws or just by the sensation of the ground under his feet.

Also, you just failed to address the fact that your nanites still should be unable to tear apart his armor. It's covered in layer upon layer of microscopic nanites. There are enough layers of them that they all reinforce one another by rebuilding themselves and replicating repeatedly. I've been doing that since my second post so if only by virtue of that defensive measure having 6 preps on it, and your mibs striking at the defense having no preps it should not work. The measure was designed to slow down his mibs and help defend against your blades somewhat as well.

If it's alright, I'll be editing the ice bit out of my previous post since it's not even viable to begin with (no slime=no possibility for ice).

Also, I am going to be refuting your nanites assimilating the armor plates due to the aforementioned reasons in my next post. Which I will be writing shortly.

Any questions?

EDIT: What's Tablurath's mask made of?

Yes, that's my fault, I should have kept up to date with what the mibs are doing to the ground, but there are allot of stuff to consider in a match like this. :K

As for the armor, in that case I suppose even separated it should be fine in regards to being broken down. Also I always understood someone could only prep one ability at a time, then use a none ability to attack with while prepping. But I'm not really sure on that so I'll ask @Skallagrim since overall that's very handy information to know. By mibs I imagine you mean his swords.

Edit: Different substances, mostly synthetic fibers, metal, and reinforced glass over the visors. It's toughness would probably be around Kevlar.

I've never really bothered including what the mibs were assimilating all the time since there is only stones around us. I did mention they were focused on the ground as I had plan on flattening the terrain, since He couldn't see though the mist I kept it to the wayside for later. I mean either way you look at it you have to go through the slime first before you reach the rocks as there it literally nothing else to assimilate to build things out off. In either case they wouldn't have a problem eating through ice.

Also I never messed with electromagnetic energy in the armor as far as I can tell. He sheds his momentum from high flash-point into his blades, which is why he can move from one sword to another and stop instantly. It doesn't effect kinetic energy aside from himself. It's that or he has complete control of his momentum, which is even worse as that would make him way to powerful.

Black Roses

The Cardinal of the Angar-Rylla’s Ninth Fleet began the execution of his first real offensive. He had to admit he was faced with a rather powerful adversary. A true test for his analytical skills to be sure. His opponent held the advantage of mobility thanks to his wings. Along with a great degree of strength if the weight of their armor alone was any indication. Add that to their raw magical power and they were easily among the most deadly in this tournament.

Tablurath did not possess the strength, or power of his opponents, but unlike them he did not fight alone.

No, the Cardinal of the ninth fleet never fought alone. Many might believe his intelligence or skills were Tabluraths most potent weapon. In truth, it was his indomitable will as a warrior. His was much like a father to his men and while it had been over two years since he had seen Mirra. She was still a daughter to him-- he would not lose here. He could not afford to. The souls of his comrades would see his will become reality.

His winged opponent landed with grace, a simple act in and of itself. In that same instance a flash of light blazed about Khanza. The intent clear, an attempt to immobilize him but for a moment. A moment was all a skilled warrior needed to end a battle such as this. A moment was something Tablurath however, was not going to be giving. As the flash came the visors of his mask dulled to compensate for the increase in brightness. Serving the exact purpose the mask was designed for.

At that moment his opponent’s feet touched down and sought to freeze the slime at their very feet. A move even Tablurath had not considered. Such loss of traction could spell trouble… yet there was none.

The manoeuvre had been a well thought out approach, but one too little too late. The ravenous hunger of his nanomachines activated earlier had sought out closes substance within the black mist of which to assimilate. Cold light at each side and above, there had been only one place left for the mibs. They had since eaten away at the stones at their feet. In fact the desnes formation of the nano machines had been near the ground at the first moment the grenade had gone off.

In truth Tablurath had originally sought to flatten the playing field and allow himself as much range of motion as possible. The layer of slime had been the first thing to be devoured, even he had to admit this added benefit had been a stroke of luck. Though should he learn it later he would deny it of course. This only covered the 30 feet of his grenade, but both had been well within the cloud for some time now.

Raelis would find flat stone eaten away at to become level ground. At least for him there was no longer and need for his talons. So in the end Tablurath had been left with only responding to what his opponent was doing above. As Khazna’s sword moved in for a cut, he saw the liquid like motion of armor peeling off his opponents other wing. Moving rather quickly even to his perception. Though he was not yet moving at anywhere to half his full speed. Yet.

“30% potential,”

First came the plates moving toward Mercy seeking to come at it from several angles at once. His response was swift and immediate, he simply released his hand from the swords grip all together. The result was Mercy suspended by the strange plating’s of armor. His now free left hand went to the handle of one of the two clones made earlier from Mercy’s swing. Assembling themselves from the mist around them.

His flash-point allowing him to reach it instantly as the world seemed to move at a sudden sluggish pace. He could not travel long distances while weighed down by his training weights. However, this didn’t affect his reflexes in close range, as he directed his ki to one of his starlhrim blades. The first sword strike had been a simple faint to test his enemies’ defences. Now the real fun would begin. Given the speed of his opponent’s defenses, there was no use in holding back any longer. It had been a long time since he had needed five blade dance.

He directed his first sword clone to his right, the force of the movement visibly moving the air around his arm, creating a small sonic boom. Cutting through the plating there, while also releasing the cold light energy in the air into them, the arch of the swing constructing two more clones above him. He released that cloned sword allowing it to spin through the armor plating and fly off. Even as his right hand sought out the second clone before cleaving the plating at his right side down the middle. He let that one continuing spinning away to his right as well, its momentum carrying it far outside the cloud of black ash around them much like its twin. In turn that arch had passed through more mibs thus creating two more blades which began to form to his right. One spinning off past Raelis’s right side. Each twirl creating another sword in its wake at his opponents right flank.

The four last armor pieces aimed for his arms missing by mere inches after the sudden burst of speed each arm had obtained through flash-point, each shedding that kinetic energy into the cloned swords to allow them to suddenly stop in place. The pieces crisscrossed, his left hand then seemed to suddenly appear around the sword forming to his upper left, a swift diagonal cut cleaving through them as he swung his right leg behind him and he shifted to the left of his opponent. The armor might not be magic, but that didn't mean the shear cutting power of starhilm would not sunder through them head one.

Tablurath eyes noted the man’s body moved little as more threads were found, meaning he was not in fact in control of these defenses directly. They were automated. Well then that just meant he would need to keep cutting until an opening, no matter how small, presented itself. His enemy had foolishly entered the sea of mibs of their own accord. They were in the heart of the storm now. Escape was almost impossible.

As more blades built themselves around the pair, Khazna counted a total of four thus far air borne. Not counting Mercy momentarily halted in the plating of armor before him. To an observer the second that had transpired would have looked like nothing but blurs of motion as petals of black danced around them. Leaving pieces of plating flying away. Best of all, now that the plating was no longer attached to a living organism, his mibs were free to assimilate the armor pieces before they even the the ground. His opponent was more than free to strip himself of defenses slowly if he so wished. The Cardinal had now edge back some eight feet to his opponents 2 o'clock, seemingly waiting for his opponents response. Or something else entirely.
@GreivousKhan that is quite flattering really. I like to consider myself as fairly skilled, but I retain a certain level of humblenes so I make a point of not comparing myself to any of the people who have been in the arena for quite a long while (Skallagrim, Rilla, yourself, MelonHead), though I feel I'm probably somewhere around a similar skill level.

It's nice to know that my writing is appreciated by the way. I've quite enjoyed the inner monologue an narration of this battle, your posts and mine. Though I do have less of that narration since Raelis is a warrior and a soldier so when in battle any superfluous thought is kinda thrown out the window. That or he doesn't want me to write it...which is weird. Yeah, my characters are kinda sentient in their own right xD

This has been quite challenging since Tablurath's abilities do well to counter a fair amount of Raelis'. They probably have the same martial might, but your weapons are easily more powerful than Raelis' Blade of Rhay in terms of raw usefulness.

It is nice that I got you as my second opponent because my first round battle was kinda grating...since my opponent didn't really seem to be taking much of anything seriously. His character also seemed a bit out matched by Raelis, not that he couldn't have won, I just feel he made some less than stellar decisions, you know?

In regards to how I personally play characters smarter than myself.... Depending on their level of perception I assume that unless they are dealing with someone of equal processing ability or they are dealing with something outside of their frame of experience, then they are likely going to see a great deal of things coming. On the other hand, I balance that out with them having certain emotions, like amusement or boredom with their interactions.

Arkaeis Zraimat/Zume Tatasuko is my favorite in regards to this, but he's a high powered tier character.

Also, nice theme choice. Fate/Zero FTW!

OH YEAH AND MY POST IS UP xD

If you have time/mental clarity to make a post it'd be great~

I'm free all day so if we get some more done we can at least enjoy this clash for a bit longer!

Oh man I know exactly what you mean about sentient characters. At times it feels like Tablurath does things even I have no idea have any meaning, then its only later I know what it meant. Maybe I'm crazy. o.o

And woot a post! I'll try and build up a post today, Not sure if I'll have time tomorrow so I might risk a bit of rushing.

I will be honest, you are both skilled. This will be a close judgement if it goes to the card. Actually both matches are going to be tight.

I'm Skilled!?!??!

Thank you for the responses!

Maybe my tomorrow is today's yesterday? HMMM!!

Also I my theme is badass and prefect for this fight, I think. ^^

Anyway, that would explain his mannerisms, Tablurath finds overly serious people boring. Though it does fit Raelis. I usually take a day or so t process a post before posting, as I think better in the morning after I wake up as I feel much more critical of my thoughts. Thouh it might depend; as you might imagine posting for Tablurath's mindset is difficult at times, how do you RP a person several degrees smarter than yourself or any one you have ever met? Just wrapping ones mind around a person who has 100% of their brains potential can be a little much. Hoping to humanize him some in following post.

In any case I'd be surprised if I have actually been doing all that well, plus Skalla hates me. Though you recently ticked him with questions so its probably even dislike. XD

No one has landed a hit and it will probably go either way. I just picture this ending before their final clash. :K

as a side note, This is the first time ever I've ever been in a match with you before @yoshua171. I always wanted to try myself against someone of your writing caliber and it is a great honor indeed.

Or a female turned male.

Which is why she'd be in the male restroom.

Between this and your constant questions about female autonomy I can't help but feel you're like planning to become a woman or something. >.>

I suppose it works since I once thought you were a female. That or a a closet pervert. :K

<Snipped quote by LeeRoy>

Boys, calm down, I'm pretty sure there's enough of Rilla and Skallagrim to go around for both of you.

All you bitches stay away from my senpai! ><_><

Or else... o.o

<Snipped quote by LeeRoy>

@GreivousKhan Fuck you and your misspelled name >:C

Ha!

Victory!

But I'd be open to collaborations. I think we kind of started with adding Pundambaya as a key player in the Freehold.

@Skallagrim Congrats Skalla!
