If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

Working on Company Sheet...

How many Feats can I choose per Mercenary?
Does this number include the Commander?
If so, will the commander have one Archetype and # feats?

It appears everyone gets 3 feats to start with?
Keep on doing what you are doing. I am a patient and busy person myself, Master Crim. I am still with the RP and watching for updates.
Can everyone look at the combat section and tell me if they understand how it works?

Still not much to go with yet. I am accustomed to much more complex rule systems. You've kept it very basic, but haven't seen any numbers yet.

Commanders should inspire their men; increase morale and the desire to fight.
They should possess some skill to Rally broken or disheartened soldiers who may have lost the desire to stand and fight.
Commanders should be good at navigating across country or maybe at sea, if that is where their experience lies.
@Aristo Although, I agree, I also would like to see larger formations, I believe it is @Polybius' intent to build a combat resolution system that will work, first with a smaller force of a half a dozen to two dozen people. Once he and a group of us feel comfortable with that, we can see about exploring larger formations.
This idea you have is one I've tossed around for many years; on so many levels. You appear to desire a small number of people in the company. I've toyed with a company of ~100 or more; a battalion of 500 - 800 or even a Brigade sized organization of a few thousand. Starting with just a handful might make it simpler, to at least create and learn a system. I applaud your efforts and would be willing to assist you in the creation process if needed. How much detail do you want to put into the world? I can help with world creation if you like. I see 6 nations, listed below and their cities.

1. Kingdom of Raxas
    * Raxas Castle
    * Arcot
    * Seton
    * Windhir
    * Hargrove
    * Reford
    * Eaton

2. Kingdom of Karnoras

3. Republic of Praeda

4. Kingdom of Lotheloni

5. Kingdom of Bapha

6. Dominion of Malaph Kar

Innish Sea
Sea of Omens

I am willing to help you build this world. If you employ the aid of those willing to participate in the creation of the world, encompassed within your vision of course, you create a sense of ownership amongst the participants. They are less likely to jump ship due to any investment they make into the design of the world itself. But this should be on a volunteer basis. I would not want to impose any additional responsibility upon someone who may not desire or be capable.
@Polybius, I am very much interested in your idea. I would prefer a traditional company of swordsmen with a few support specialists to provide them a combined arms advantage. I would love to know how many employees our mercenary companies will be allowed to start with. Will that be a randomly generated number or will it be determined by the amount of money we start with for hiring purposes?
The name Fox wasn't important to me. I was not aware of the meanings of the letter designators. I changed mine to CT. Instead of attempting to role out a complete BIO on a soldier who is genetically identical to everyone else, I simply wrote a first person narrative of his impressions of his company Chain of command from Squad to Platoon to Company level. It is simply a unique and stylish way of writing it.
Clone Number: CT-8350
Army Rank: Trooper
Nickname: Rabbit
Personality/Bio: "Captain Rigger is a top notch commander. He appears squared away and hasn't gotten us into too much of the bad stuff yet. He does seem to be in all the right places at the right time. I have to admire the old man for his tenacity.

We was in a fire fight one time. Mortar rounds and laser blasts were going off all around us. We had a low stone wall for cover. Three troopers in my squad had just taken hits and gone down. The medic was attempting to patch one of them up, when I noticed out of the corner of my eye, someone stepped up and was firing his carbine alongside me. I had to stop shooting just to see who it was. I was quite surprised to recognize Captain Rigger. He was right there in the thick of it, exposing himself to the same hazards as the rest of us troopers.

The Lieutenant, on the other hand, I'm not all that sure of. He seems to prefer to lead from the rear. I accidentally walked in on the old man chewing his ass out for something this one time. I don't know if the LT is going to be around us much longer. The Platoon daddy Sergeant Major Mack on the other hand is the real deal. He is always smoking these fat ass cigars and yelling at troopers. But when the Sergeant Major yells, it is usually for a good reason. He's another one I look up to.

Our Squad Leader, Sergeant Brick appears nervous, but otherwise does a fine job. I believe he just needs more experience. He is still new to the position. He knows what he is doing, but I've seen him focused on the enemy down range during a fire fight rather than looking at the squad. He's responsible for us! Sure his rifle needs to be engaging targets, but he needs to be situationally aware as well. I may not be an NCO yet, but this much I know.

The Corporal is a good trooper. He is pretty easy going; good for a few laughs. He goes by the name, Lance. During a fire fight, I caught him nipping at a small bottle under his body armor. Not sure what it was, but he seems to do his job fine.

The rest of the boys in 2nd Squad are clone troopers, fresh off Kamino, like me. We've been together as a unit for over a year now. We all get along pretty well and I am confident everyone has my back. I know I have their's."
