If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

did you get my pm? let's chat there

I got your PM after waking up, but I have no time to respond right now. It might be a day before I respond. The book I'm writing is still here. I just have no time to write.
all my novels are military science fiction stories set in the far distant future. in particular, i'm obsessed with space battleships and wars that happen in space in general. there's a special niche in military science fiction, which my books occupy, which is called space fleet. all my books are space fleet heavy military science fiction novels.
i love writing and infodumping and talking about issues like strategy, tactics, imaginary defenses and weaponry related to space wars, in particular space warships or fighter combat or space carriers.... missile warfare,
i love designing space combat systems, which makes my novels unique as often (but not always), i come up with unique space combat mechanics. most of the time, this is determined how ships move, how they fire at each other, how warships in space handle faster than light. i love multi-star system wars, so handling ftl is must for my books.

Luna_Maria, if you ever want to have a conversation on this subject or a 1x1 RP in this genre, let me know. I am there. I am also writing a novel that includes space traveling war ships, but my focus is on a Special Operations Team assigned to one of the warships. I dont' want to copy your stuff, but we may be able to collaborate in this genre. It is one I enjoy also. I have been working on my novel for several years. I don't get a lot of time to write, but do have over 62,000 words written.
Happy Friday! My daughters have a dance recital tomorrow, but on Sunday the wife goes to work. So won't be much fanfare at our house. Unless, I take my children to see my mom, but that is a two hour drive.
Yesterday I subbed in the Resource room at the local High School. This is for students on IEPs who have trouble in certain subjects. Many of the students are preparing for a test on the Cold War in their history class; a subject firmly planted in my "wheel house". I have a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a concentration on International Relations with the Soviet Union...and then the wall fell. I also served in Germany in the US Army in the 1980s getting a first hand perspective of the Cold War in Europe. Other than that, I've been reading military history books and articles for over 43 years.
today i was a technology teacher.

I did that gig in April for two and a half weeks.
Seth was surprised to see the elf woman work her way up the hill on her own, the way she did. Most people were unaccustomed to the sound of gunfire, with the possibility of dying at any moment, tending to freeze in place; stricken with fear. Obviously fear of gunfire or maybe death(?) was not an issue with this one.

“Hey! Grab my ruck while you’re down there!” Seth yelled down the hill. He had dropped his backpack before making his mad dash, complete with combat rolls up the hill. It was an exhausting effort, but he was able to silence the sniper. It would have been nice to not kill the old man, but with the Others’ techniques, it was a necessary end; otherwise we let them win. For them to win, it meant death for everyone else. Seth was not prepared to face that reality. He was a fighter and would not go down until he was put down or left free from these dangers and oppression.

When the elf woman reached him, she did not appear out of breath. Obviously, she was in decent shape. That makes her useful. But then, out of shape and over weight earthlings fell victim to the Others rather quickly. There were no overweight survivors.

"Who are you and why are you here?" the woman asked the stocky 70-inch orc.

“Well, I guess I could ask the same question of you, m’lady,” Seth Vutaro smiled, stating with a hint of sarcasm. The m’lady comment referenced the now irrelevant social strata an elf would occupy in the old world.

Old world.

The sound of the term was difficult to get accustomed to. It had only been a few months since they arrived and things were very different now. “Pardon me. My name is Seth Vutaro, but most people call me Vick. I assume you are not one of them? My associates and I are survivors, looking to improve our way in this world.” Vick or Seth, depending on how you would refer to him thrust a thumb over his shoulder in the direction of the now deceased sniper. “…and hopefully root out some of the Others as we encounter them. I doubt this man ever intended to shoot at you or me, but he doesn’t have a choice anymore and the thing inhabiting him gave us no choice but to kill him. It is a sad lot in life. But those are the conditions of this new world we must all adapt to.”

“How about you tell me who you are and what you are doing here,” Seth spoke to the woman, not in a question, just that it was her turn.

Before the elf could answer, he heard the comment from below, "Vick? I know you said bring the elf woman up, but we can't seem to find her."

“Forget about it, Joe!” Seth called down. “She’s up here with me. Get my pack and beat feet!”

“All right, all right! Don’t get your knickers in a twist.” The three spoke to one another as though killing this Other-possessed human was a common event. Unfortunately, it had become a way of life since leaving Central City. Seth wanted to teach the dwarf and human how to advance together without leaving someone at the starting point. In time, he would share that small unit tactical information with them as well as have them practice it. For now, he would continue using what techniques they knew as a group and continue to improve as they went along. If their party grew in size, he might find himself with people who either knew how to soldier or not, like the pair he had been saddled with. They were consuming ammunition too rapidly. They would need to find more and soon.

As Seth waited for Joe and Thalis to make their way up the hill, he turned back to the elf woman. “So, what is your name and how did get out in these woods alone with no gear? Are you lost?” His carbine was slung over his shoulder and around his neck. It dangled under his right arm. He waved his arms around when he mentioned the phrase, ‘out in these woods’.
I still wear my dog tags even though I separated from military service almost 15 years ago.
I saw A Wrinkle in Time on Sunday with my children.
I played the trumpet when I was in school.
I am watching Star Wars on May the Fourth (be with you).
