If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

I played Skipbo and Quiddler with my children today. My son won the Skipbo game and I won at Quiddler.
This is a great exercise in character development. The 'boys' hanging out in the pub are naive. They are filled with wonderment of the world around them. They believe they are invincible, but are truthfully frightened little boys clinging to their mother's aprons. Then they are exposed to the horrors of war. They change. How will you grapple with that change? Every person. Every character will react differently.
I love Star Trek, Star Wars and anything Science Fiction in nature to include Firefly and Battlestar Galactica.

I want to do a Star Trek Role Play that is exclusively Klingon in nature. No Hooomans!

Yes, Star Trek: The Next Generation (1980s) is the best version of Star Trek.
I don't care for star trek stuff.

@Vampiretwilight Carolyn McCormick portrayed Dr. Elizabeth Olivet in Law and Order, Law and Order: Trial by Jury, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, and Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. She also portrayed a Holograph character on Star Trek: The Next Generation named Minuet.

Guy Sauvage didn’t want to board an aircraft and fly to Elis, Greece; the Stadium. Instead he drove his 2017 navy blue Citroen C4 Cactus compact SUV from Southern France through Italy to the port of Brindisi in the southern Apulia Region. He boarded a ferry headed to Sami, Kephalonia, Greece. Once in Sami, he had a two hour layover before continuing to Patras, Achaea, Greece. He took time to get a meal from a small cafe in Sami. This was a beautiful locale, quiet, warm and free from all the crazy shit going on in the world.

Patras was a beautiful Aegean City port on the north side of the Peloponnese region of Greece. Guy appreciated the mix of modern architecture with the remnants of the old world. He drove the Cactus along the coastal highway 5 and E55 until he reached the Stadium. Once at the Stadium, he parked his automobile in the lot and carried his duffel bag and rucksack to the barracks. After stowing his equipment, he felt he needed some trigger time.

Guy wore his hip holster with the Glock 17 and carried two boxes of 9mm ammunition. He had only four magazines on him. He loaded his magazines. Each held seventeen rounds which left thirty-two rounds loose in a box. He placed a standard black silhouette target on the stand down range and stood behind the firing port roughly 25 yards away. To warm up, he fired the first magazine at the target. With his first magazine, he put five rounds inside the number nine circle in the head and ten rounds inside the number nine circle in the body. One round landed in the number eight circle and one in the number seven.

Although he was accustomed to putting everything either around the X or at least inside the number nine circle, he did not beat himself up over it. After replacing the magazine, he was able to put eight rounds inside the number nine circle in the head with two in the X and nine rounds in the number nine circle in the body with four in the X. He was happier with this outcome. He pulled the target back and placed eight steel plates on a shelf, standing up at the far end of the pistol range. He then inserted the remaining thirty-two rounds in the two magazines he emptied.

This next drill, he holstered his pistol and set a stopwatch with his left hand. After triggering the stopwatch, he placed it on the stand in front of him, drew his sidearm and rapidly engaged the eight plates. As he squeezed the trigger in rapid succession, he could hear the successive plinks of lead striking steel. He squeezed off eight rounds as quick as he could, reholstered his pistol, grabbed the stopwatch and stopped it. He picked it up and looked at the time. It was 10.8 seconds. Naturally, this included time spent having to pick up the stopwatch, put it down, draw his weapon and put it away. In his opinion, it was too slow, but it would be easier to do if he had a partner to operate the stopwatch for him. He would continue to shoot the plates until he ran out of ammo.
@Caasicam Excellent opening post. Very well written and concise.

I will go with whichever nation you all decide you want to start in. This is my list by priority and why.

1. France: I am American of French descent (dad) and am a Franco-phile. Also, the French had a reputation as being a strong military. They allowed their overconfidence to get the better of them during both WWI and WWII. That overconfidence should be aptly represented in our version of France.
2. United Kingdom: I am American of British descent (mom). English would make this so much easier. Not that we need to speak French in character.
3. Prussia: I speak German and respect the military professionalism of the Prussian elite.
4. Austria: I don't really care. They kill the German language...almost as bad as the Bavarians.
Considering the world affairs I have a lot more time to write now. Consider me interested.

Same here. I live in Massachusetts. The Governor just extended our banishment from public interaction until May 4th. /rollingeyes.
In the US there have been 44,183 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 544 deaths as of March 24th. COVID-19 was introduced into our society about the end of February/ beginning of March. Between October 1, 2019 and 24 March the flu, which we all take for granted now has seen 54,000,000 cases; 710,000 have been hospitalized and 59,000 people have died in the US alone. Will the social distancing experiment prevent COVID-19 from spreading as rapidly as regular flu has this year? would the numbers have been worse without social distancing? Looking at Italy and China it looks pretty rough, but we won't be able to compare because of the social distancing experiment. I don't know. Either way, I'm here for you, bud. @Starboard Watch
@Gunther
