If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

Vampiretwilight: The difficult part is, not only do I have three children in Mass school systems, but I work as a substitute teacher. I am a per diem employee. If the schools aren't open, I cannot work, therefore I cannot make any money.
Schools in Massachusetts are now closed until May 4th. :( Noooooooo!
it also just occurred to me that the picture isn't working so I'm going to work on that as well.

Now I sit here scratching my head. I have no clue what image you attached. It doesn't come through on my computer....nothing there.
@sly13Oooh? What branch was the Irishman from?

I just sent him a PM suggesting the Royal Marines; 42 Commando and Commando 21. Each battalion has a recon troop (platoon) and each of those two platoons have snipers; probably 3 or 4 sniper teams.
I love gingerbread and red velvet cake.
One day, I discovered that I had the entire theme song to the golden girls memorized.

I blame my mother. lol

Thank you for being a friend!
Traveled down the road and back again,
Your heart is true,
Your a pal and a confidant,

and if you threw a party,
invited everyone you knew,
you would see the biggest gift would be from me,
and the card attached would say,

Thank you for being a friend!
My wife and I took our honeymoon in Waikiki, HI. Everytime we walked by Honolulu harbor I sang the Gilligan's Island theme song. I know the opening scene to Gilligan's Island was filmed there. Just looking out over the harbor reminded me of the television show. My wife hated that song. LOL
Trevor smirked at the notion of the skin darkening cream and the brown contacts. He wouldn’t need any of that. Someone in his ancestral lineage originated on that dark continent. He figured he would blend in with the Africans pretty easily. Unfortunately, the North Africans were lighter skinned than he was, but he knew there were dark skinned Nubians living in Maghreb even today. It was something he wasn’t worried about. He retained the Arabic lessons from his time with the SEALs in San Diego. He also had a multitude conversations with native speakers over the eight years he served with the teams in the middle east. He had practical experience with the language but was no native Algerian speaker. His French was much better than his Arabic and that would fit in just fine. Although the people of Maghreb spoke a different dialect, Maghrebi Arabic is slightly different than his Mesopotamian or Levanti dialect.

When Trevor heard he was returning to Algeria, he allowed a slight grimace. He spent a year or more in the region with the Legion. Not all of it was bad, but it was a frickin shitty hell hole--very hot. It appeared they would be in some of the same grounds for this operation. The Legion operated near the borders with Mali and Niger. He did make a jump with No. 3 company, 2nd REP about five kilometers southeast of Reggane, Algeria. Nasty tussle; took a frag on his right side that day. He recalled Claude Beaumont, his team’s grenadier killed in action about a half hour after their pre-dawn jump. ‘Hell that was only about four years ago,’ he thought to himself.

‘100 rounds?’ Trevor smiled to himself. He knew the Marines carried 210 like the Army. SEALs usually carried twice that and even in the Legion he carried 270 plus whatever loose they could find. He got into the habit of carrying twelve mags, even if only nine of them were loaded.

“I remember hearing about those fuckers when I was in North Africa four years ago. At that time, DGSE told us they hid out in the Ahaggar National Park; possibly living in the local villages; Tahifet, Tazrouk or Idles. I don’t know maybe more. They were fucking dogs.” Trevor let some intel slip that he learned in the Legion. DGSE was the acronym for the French intelligence agency, Direction générale de la sécurité extérieure. “But like you say, Monsieur Bakker. They may be anywhere in that hot-ass desert.”

Trevor didn’t have as many questions as he thought. He was able to recall some intelligence from his time in the Legion and share it with his new brothers in Ares. He looked over the items in the package. He secured them in his coat pocket and felt pretty confident with the mission. He was feeling good about the op.
Regarding X-men, I was always a fan of Logan/Wolverine. I know he is always the moody loner, but I can relate to that.
Bienvenido Alejandra! @Xandrya

In the military community, the number six or zero six refers to the commander. Zero seven is the Sergeant Major or Senior NCO (Non-commissioned officer) and zero five is the Executive Officer (XO). In a Company, the number one, two and three are reserved for the Platoon leaders. At battalion and Brigade, the numbers one, two, three and four refer to the four primary staff officers; S1-Personnel, S2-Intelligence, S3-Operations and S4-Supply & Logistics.

Sorry everyone. Sometimes I get carried away. Spent too many years in combat boots and I still wear my dog tags.
