If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

@MetalWeight I have never roleplayed with you, but I like the company you keep. I may post a character. Not sure yet.
I am more lion than dragon.
- I have no attachments, nor am I detaching any units to the others.

Correct!
- My battalion is the Brigade main effort focusing on the armor threat at Hill 140.

Correct! You can either destroy the enemy in front of you or leave them to II./34th Motorized Infantry to deal with.
- There appears to be obstacles at 25.53, 25.54 & 25.55. I assume these are Anti-Tank mines? Maybe anti-personnel mines?

Corret! There are minefields along the roads of all breaching points. Also, note the enemy deployed a few long range patrols forward of the river to watch the Brigade just before it attacks.
- There appears to be three mechanized infantry platoons dug into the built up area on the north side of my breach point. A company CP to the left and one 750 meters to the north of the river.

Correct!
- There is also one company of tanks on Hill 140.

Correct!
- I assume, I must pretend I do not see them yet. That I must roll to spot them and then roll to hit and destroy them?

Correct! You will need to roll to see them.
- What should the remainder of my battalion do, once we have secured objective SABLYA and a company establishes an Ambush or Support by Fire position at the north end of that road, to the right of the Sokol Group?

Prepare for offensive operations. Your battalion may lead an assault north into the railyard if the 54th Brigade is not successful in its attack.

I posted the 0th Post. This is the Brigade Commander, General Major Dmitri Mishenko approving of the Brigade's OPORD and asking the battalion commanders if they have any question. The Task Organization is slightly different than the units you created. The Tank Company that belongs to Second Battalion, 34th Infantry has been given to the Sokol Group for Operational Control. Once the Operation is over, the company returns to the Second Battalion, 34th. Sokol Group also gets one of the 2nd battalion's Anti-Tank platoons. The Czech Mercenaries are retained for Brgiade control and initially are given the mission to deal with an Anti-Tank threat on the Brigade's western flank during our march up towards Smila. This is also Sokol Group's left flank. That company will initiate its attack prior to the Brigade's attack.

The Mission statement is repeated here:

II. MISSION. At 0600 29 August 2004, the Ukrainian 53rd Infantry Brigade (Blue), attacks Objective WHITE (Cherkasy Oblast in southern Smila) in order to support the 54th Brigade’s attack on the railyard to the north.

and the Commander's Intent:

A. Commander’s Intent. The Commander intends to attack the entrenched enemy in southern Smila along a broad front. The Armor battalion will assault through initially in order to attack the tank company defending along the high ground to the north. Two infantry battalions will attack left and right of the tank battalion and a third battalion will follow the tank battalion along their attack route.

Finally, the Scheme of Maneuver:

1. Scheme of Maneuver. The Sokol Group will attack along the secondary road in western Mal Smelyanka in order to clear the bridge area of enemy units and support the Brigade main Effort. 1st Battalion, 37th Tank (Main Effort) attacks along the primary road west of Mal Yablonovka in order to create a breach and attack successive objective at Hill 140 south of Smila. 2nd Battalion, 34th Infantry attacks along secondary road through Mal Yablonovka in order to clear the built up area around the river of enemy units and support the Brigade main effort in its attack toward Smila. 1st Battalion, 34th Infantry follows Brigade main effort along primary road west of Mal Yablonovka in order to clear enemy units from the built up area in the vicinity of the river and to support the Brigade’s main effort as it attacks north toward the city.

The Complete OPORD is listed in the 0th post. AT the bottom are the Operational Graphics and the Enemy situation in our AOR.

If you have questions, you can ask them both here in OOC and/or in character in the IC thread.
General Major Dmitri Mishenko commander of the 53rd Mechanized Brigade issued his Brigade’s operations order to battalion commanders of his brigade. The operations order was presented by Major Anton Grigorievich, the operations order, but it was approved by the commander. Present in the briefing room were the battalion commanders, their battalion’s operations officer and executive officers as well as liaison officers, drivers and additional assistants from each battalion and the brigade.

“Gentlemen, it is important that you attack these positions with violence of effort. You must not allow the enemy one second of respite. Insure you coordinate with the units on your left and right in order to maintain a cohesive front. Colonel Timoshenko, assign someone on your staff to coordinate with the 54th Brigade attacking into Taras Shevshenko Railyard to your north. We do not need to commit fratricide on our brothers attacking into the heart of the city. My staff is preparing a contingency operation in case we have to attack further north; if the 54th does not succeed. Are there any questions?”
