If you are a fan of Warhammer 40,000 or Age of Sigmar, let me know. Maybe we can put together an RP. I play Ironjawz & Kruleboyz in AOS and Salamanders & Drukhari in 40K.

Bio

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

I have been writing for pleasure for at least 35+ years but only got into forum-based Role Playing about eighteen years ago. I do enjoy Nation Role Plays and get into minute detail when designing my military. The only reason I enjoy excruciating detail in my militaries is because for me, it is fun. My education and experience on this subject afford me the insight to see the depth of the structure. It is not just a General and a large pile of soldiers. If someone wants assistance in designing an army, navy, or air force, please send me a PM. I will help. Please specify what level (echelon) or depth you would like me to go. When I say echelon, I mean Army, Corps, Division, Brigade/Regiment, Battalion/Squadron, Company/Troop/Battery, Platoon, and Squad/Section.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.

There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.

I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.

Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. I have received a sprained ankle and a fractured wrist. Before the first black belt test, I received a bone bruise to my right shin; where my roundhouse kicks impact. Yet, I am stupid enough to continue training. [Regardless of the physical pain, it is more fun than any other physical activity I have engaged in. Fortunately, the bone bruise healed up prior to the third and final test. EDIT: I did leave the sport over five years ago. :(]

Over two years ago I completed my first novel, a science fiction set in the 24th century. It focuses on a Private Military Corporation solely employed by the earth government. I started a second book in November 2022 and hope to work on that this summer when I have more time.

Send me a PM for a Role Play or if you would like to see what sort of an army I could build for you.

@genghismikeIf when you say, OldGuild you mean the time before the crash, I was there. I never saw the original post this one is allegedly mirrored from, but I was a member of the Old RPG site. I recall sometime around Christmas 2013, attempting to log into RPG. I could not. I tried repeatedly, with repetitive failures. I actually broke my wrist on the 30th of December, but continued to try to log in. One day, this site appeared and I created this account. But since the thread is supposed to be pointless, what difference does it make if someone posts? None, whatsoever. The fractured wrist is just as pointless. Healed up well a long time ago.

The Dornier Parliament on the banks of the Röttinger River.

August, Dornier

The city of August rests along the western bank of the Röttinger River. The river itself measures just over 800 meters across while passing through the Dornier Capital. The banks of the river are lined with Hawthorne Trees following a staggered line of stone walls only two to two and a half feet in height. Along the stone wall winds a tarred running/walking path used regularly by citizens and tourists alike.

Across Messinger Street lies a row of lilac bushes adding their fragrance to the afternoon air. Madelaine Savatier, grew up in the August suburb of Mantua Falls, located about ten kilometers to the south of the city along the Röttinger. As a young girl, she admired the beauty of the city with its public gardens, stone columns and beautiful buildings, some built in marble. The city had been engineered more than three hundred years ago and the population of Dornier insured it was well cared for; well maintained. The Parliament was constructed of 40 million bricks including limestone which is constantly being repaired. Weathering deteriorates the beauty of the stone frequently.

Councilwoman Savatier was elected to the Council of Representatives by the Dornier members of Parliament over a year ago. The CoR is the representative body authorized to represent the Magnus Confederation. Unfortunately, the Council does not receive the same respect as the individual global governments. Madelaine is honored to represent the Confederation, but occasionally wonders if she made a mistake running for a seat on the board.

Within the confines of Dornier fashion, Madelaine wore a light blue ankle length dress with a pattern of Poppies and Asters on the upper half of the dress. She wore a golden broach, clasping the dress together at the throat. Her large curly blonde hair cascaded down her back about ten inches behind the neckline. The blue dress accentuated her bright blue eyes which had acquired crow’s feet, lines at the corners of her eyes from worrying about government procedure or simply advancing to age 50.

She climbed the nine stone steps of the Peppard Building which housed the chambers of the Council of Representatives. It was not as spectacular as the Dornier Parliament building or even the Grand Villa where the Dornier President lived, but it served its purpose for the Confederated government. “Chloé, please get me a copy of the Randolph Bill. I need to review it today. We are voting on the document at the end of the week.” She referred to a referendum the citizens would need to vote on allowing the confederated government to transition to a republic. It would disband the Council of Representatives and realign the Board of Representatives into a unified parliament composed of representatives from all eight planets. The bill or referendum details how the bicameral parliament would be organized. It also would implement a Supreme Judicial Court of Appeals which could overturn planetary legislation or court decisions of it met the requirements for appeal.

As the seasoned politician from Dornier approached the council chambers, she was met by Stapnod Beezlebrox of Rylarot. He represented the Fydler population. At seven foot three inches in height, he was considered just a tad taller than average for his species which were very thin and greyer than any other color. The Fydler native language consisted of several beeps, pops and elongated sounds. Yet, somehow they were able to learn the languages of the other four races in the Confederation.

In his typical relaxed high pitch tone of voice, Stapnod addressed the Dornier woman, “Representative Savatier. Greetings, I bring, my friend.” His smile could be seen beneath the flap of gray flesh covering his mouth. His blackened oval eyes hid any chance of a human determining authenticity of the greeting. One had only the sound of their voice to understand them. Even that could be challenging because they didn’t always follow standard grammatical rules of language.

“Representative Beezlebrox, so very nice to see you.” Madelaine opened the door and held it for her much taller colleague. She waved her arm indicating he should pass through first. At one hundred twenty-five years of age, Stapnod was in his prime. Most Fydler live to be around two hundred years. Stapnod’s attire could best be described as white or eggshell colored robes. They were very bland, but adorned the large creature nicely.

Upon entering the chambers, they could hear arguing between the four-foot eight-inch Kíli Woldpike of Swenton and the blue skinned Ando Itoshi of Harton. Whatever their discussion, it ended when Savatier and Beetlebrox entered the room. Also present were blue skinned Haruka Kubota of Jaltyr, Fabeian Dufour, human of Lenser, the grey skinned, white haired Risa Gurnani of Geldoz and Fabrice Durant, human of Goff.

Fabrice Durant, the current sitting President of the Council of Representatives wore a navy blue suit, white, high collared dress shirt with maroon-red paisley vest and matching ascot slammed his gavel, “Let’s bring this meeting to order. The council is present. Everyone has a stenographer to record their notes as well as their Aide. We shall begin.”

“First issue I would like to address is the upcoming referendum. I must remind you all, your opinion on the matter is not as much important as the people you represent. It is imperative that you encourage the population of your planets to vote their mind, not yours. As you address the issue at home, choose your words as carefully as possible, so as to not appear biased either way. Undoubtedly, however this government goes, you will be part of the transition. We need to be able to communicate properly to our replacements what we have done and what we have failed to do. Please remain as impartial as you can.”

“Next, we are sending scouts into the galaxy in search of life on distant worlds. As in the history of our Confederation or our little corner of the galaxy, we have sent out scouts and it is time to do it again. We are all aware this is a dangerous mission. Some ships have ventured out into the unknown only to never be seen again. Insure your people understand the potential sacrifice they are making on this mission.”

The meeting continued with more housekeeping business and there was even some discussion about the most recent voetball game between Harton and Swenton. Apparently the Caesari Dwarves defeated the Baku of Harton three goals to two.

Scout Ships Deploy

The Edison Class Scout ship, also known as the Patrol Boat, Reconnaissance or PBR has a crew of seven, including the boat’s skipper who holds the rank of Lieutenant. The pilot is an enlisted sailor of rank, Petty Officer. The Navigator is an Ensign and the remainder of the crew are four soldiers who perform dismounted reconnaissance efforts as well as manning the two single turret 30mm pulse laser cannons. The dismount crew consists of a Sergeant, Team Leader, a fire support specialist and two scouts. The boat carries one Air/Raft or “Sled” in the hangar. This is a hovercraft, used for surface reconnaissance. The hovercraft will accommodate a driver and three additional passengers. The scout ship or boat is used as a long-range reconnaissance vessel by capital ships in order to have eyes on objectives that are at great distance from the fleet. They can be used to scan targets in deep space or to conduct reconnaissance on the surface of planets. The Scout Ship can carry up to a Squad of Infantry or Marines with 2 additional “Sleds” if necessary.

This PBR was manned only by the bridge crew of three and two surface scouts. Their purpose was to seek life on distant planets. One hundred of these vessels were sent from the Confederate planets. Each PBR was given a target planet to scan and then report back to higher headquarters on what they find.

Jaltyr v. Harton

Local music on Jaltyr

“Welcome to the Global Voetball League, coming to you live from Chōfu Stadium in downtown Xenoloc. My name is Hiroyuki Nakamura and I am sitting in the booth with Jin Akagi. We have an outstanding match for you today between the hometown Ventfoert Kofu Voetball Club and the Kataller Toyama Voetball Club from Harton. This should be an awesome display of Voetball play, Jin. Who do you think is favored in this match?”

“Hiroyuki, the Kataller team has one of the best attacking forward duos with Togo Inida and Takato Shibasaki. The pair of tallied over 67 goals scored in the past 27 games. They are very fast and work extremely well together. But then nothing gets past Masayoshi Nakajima, the team’s premier goalkeeper. On the other hand, the Ventfoert team has not a duo, but a trio of attacking players, Masato Koyoma, Masashi Ogawi and Shin Sugato who have scored 71 goals in the past 28 games. This is definitely going to be an offensive game. Both teams have some of the most powerful offenses in the league.”

Hiroyuki Nakamura added his two cents, “We must not omit Inida and Shibasaki have lost one of their best strikers, Shun Odate who feeds them the ball regularly. I agree this will be a very offensive game. Let’s take a look down on the pitch as the teams prepare for the match.”

“Fortunate Sons”

Holiday Alternate Universe RP

Jake Meadows found the Bernard Class Search and Rescue Vessel at an abandoned mine roughly one hundred thirty miles from Paradiso on Regina. The starboard magnetic grappler was missing, as was the starboard hardpoint grappler. The first was replaced with a missile battery, to help conserve power and give the ship much-needed protection from boarding. The starboard hardpoint grappler was replaced with a fixed forward one-pound autocannon operated by the pilot to provide some additional firepower. The remaining hardpoint grappler and magnetic grappler are used to pull salvaged vessels in close for boarding. Jake Meadows and his brothers spend most of their time salvaging wrecks or deserted ships in the ‘verse.

Jake grew up on Hera with his brothers and sister. Seven of the boys fought in the Unification War. When the final battle in Serenity Valley ended, so did the war. It was a pyrrhic victory as the Alliance achieved supremacy in the universe. The boys tried to go home to the farm on Hera but found the Alliance had killed the owners and took over the farm. No one knew what happened to the McGinnis family. The boys, who were in their twenties then found transit working on a cargo ship. They ended up on Regina where they found the Salvage ship.

Jake’s brothers include Jo-Jo Hooker, who is currently serving as his first officer; Carl Miner, also known as Scrapper, works as the ship’s pilot; and finally, Paul Trask, Winston Trask, Derek Malloy and Theo Steiner all serve the ship as the boarding party. As first officer, Joe Hooker leads the boarding party during inspections and salvage operations. While spending time in the ‘verse finding loot hidden on wrecks, they also found Penny McGinnis who apparently did not die when the Alliance took over her father’s farm. She now serves as the ship’s weapons officer. Along with operating the weapon system, she also uses the grapplers during boarding operations. Aside from the grapplers, her primary concern is the missile launcher which has a maximum range of 16 Kilometers. The autocannon is operated by the ship’s pilot, Carl Miner.

The boys agreed to name the ship, “Fortunate Sons”. They all felt lucky they survived the battle of Serenity Valley and although they were mostly Brothers from Other Mothers, they all considered each other brothers. They were family. The name Fortunate Sons seemed appropriate to the brothers.

They had recently completed stripping parts and supplies from a wrecked Titan Class Heavy Bulk Transport ship. The crew had either departed before it went adrift or died on the ship itself. The boarding party reported seeing corpses on various decks of the ship. They found food supplies, a few laser batteries and parts they may be able to use on their own ship or sell on the black market. The ship’s primary cargo had already been stripped clean. But hauls like this were there mainstay for earning a living.

“Make your way to the nearest space station,” Captain Jake Meadows said to Scrapper.

“Aye, Cap’n,” the pilot, Carl Miner responded. It would require an additional twenty hours before the space station came into view. At this range it was still many kilometers away. Eventually, the Fortunate Sons came in range. Carl Miner let the captain and crew know, “approaching the station now.” Carl Miner sat at the helm of the salvage ship intending his approach to be for a docking. As they got closer, he could see through optics that something was wrong. Something was out of place. ‘This doesn’t look right,’ he thought to himself. “Captain, git up to the bridge. Reavers!” Carl exclaimed over the intercom as realization hit him.

When the alarm rang out about the Reavers, the remainder of the crew jumped into action. Penny got to her weapons station on the bridge behind the pilot. She worked her external optics in order to bring the Reaver ship into view. It was still over twenty kilometers from the Fortunate Sons. Joe Hooker, first officer was already in his jump suit as were the rest of the boarding party. They gathered weapons donning combat helmets and assault vests. Their ammunition pouches were will filled with magazines. They carried fragmentation grenades as well as flash bang and smoke grenades. Derek and Theo carried energy-based laser carbines. Paul carried a sub machine gun modeled from an Earth that was, Heckler & Koch MP-5. His brother, Winston carried a 12-gauge shotgun from another Earth that was model, a Remington 870 and a Ruger Redhawk .357 revolver. Many of the brothers carried .357 caliber handguns in a hip holster. They knew if they all carried the same caliber weapon it would simplify the caliber of ammunition they had to carry.

“Tracking the Reaver ship at twenty kilometers, Captain,” Penny commented. By this time Jake had reached the bridge. He was in near enough to Carl and Penny for them to talk to him in person. Penny wanted to ask what they wanted, but she had enough experience to know the Reavers just wanted to kill and steal. There was only one solution. They were not someone to be trifled with.

“Roger that, Penny,” Jake responded to her. “Hold weapons. I don’t want you alerting them to our presence or firing before we are ready.” Penny nodded her head in acknowledgement.

“Boarding party is ready for action, Cap’n,” Joe Hooker added to the intercom traffic. Joe looked over Paul, Winnie, Derek and Theo to insure all their equipment was good to go.

“Roger that, Jo-Jo. Stand by,” the captain answered his first officer. Captain Jake Meadows was confident in his brother’s ability at entering a ship tactically, providing overwatching cover to advancing members of the team. They all had worked together as a squad during the war and didn’t forget the small unit tactics they learned from experience.

“Captain, the Reavers are attacking that Firefly!” Miner commented. Carl could see laser blasts spreading over and across the top of the firefly class cargo ship. There were no secondary explosions yet. They hadn’t scored a vital hit yet.

“Penny, are we in range?” The captain asked the weapons system officer.

The young woman, whose parents were slaughtered by the Alliance purple bellies, zoomed her camera view of the reaver ship, “closing to sixteen kilometers. Aye Cap’n,” she spoke to Jake Meadows. “Fifteen, Fourteen, Thirteen…” She gave a countdown as the Bernard class Salvage Ship closed with the Reaver and the Firefly.

Don’t fire unless I tell you to, “Laser blasts arced across the Firefly as the Reavers closed with the space station. The ship appeared intent on landing at the station. “They want to take the cargo ship. Bring her in close, Scrapper. And make damn sure not to give our presence away!”

“Aye Cap’n!”

“Prepare to board!” Jake ordered Joe Hooker then turned to Penny, “Get ready on the grapplers. We’ll tie on and board them. Breach their hull. Clear their ship first.”

“Passing eight kilometers,” Penny told the captain.

“They are docked now, Cap.” Carl Miner pushed the ship to get in closer.

“five, four, three, two, one…” Penny’s voice trailed off as the ship slowed.

The Fortunate Sons closed with the Reaver’s ship, pulled up alongside as Penny fired off the grapplers. With the Salvage ship tied alongside the Reaver ship, the Trask brothers placed a shape charge along the Reaver hull and pulled the detonator. They immediately moved back behind cover.

Following the explosion, smoke, and brilliant light, the five members of the boarding party ran through the newly created hole prepared to engage Reavers inside their own ship.
