So, just to keep everyone from clustering up at the move tutor whenever we get there, I'm just going to say that there is a move tutor at every gym for the corresponding types and a few others scattered around for anything not covered.

Yes, there will be a few tournaments. Heck, even the Pokemon League here is going to be based on the show and end in a massive tournament.
@fer1323 You could, but y'know a Riolu could also be found in that area. If you guys want, an egg could also be the prize for a tournament (along with the money)
@fer1323 So long as you get it in a way that makes sense. Don't just stumble upon one in the grass.
@LuckyBlackCat You can definitely get eggs from people, in fact...I'll limit it to one egg per person. That way everyone can get their team together at a relatively decent pace.
@alexfangtalon Wow, both of our characters probably look relatively dumb to the others. Mine only speaks in like one/two word statements and yours speaks before thinking. Like I said before, they would be a pretty pathetic duo.

Well you certainly have options. I know Rheese is going north towards Mesalon (since a grass type gym would be absolutely catastrophic for his team...that and I like the options after that) I know that Mesalon's gym would at least be interesting for Alexis though, heck even if/when you win they'll probably give you sagely advice, they're monks after all.
On the other hand, Vareena is a grass type gym, so if you want to go purely for the type advantage you could. It also partially depends on who you want to group up with, Rheese wouldn't outwardly object to going to Vareena, it's just not exactly the wisest place for his team.

That's a scary thought, let's hope they don't ever have to do something between the two of them. Ian's the "doesn't really pay attention" type of oblivious too, that's why Sneasel is such a good pairing for him. She'll pay attention in his stead.
