100 Days of Summer

It's summer and you and your friends are ready to relax and play some games at the Sumpter Estate, a summer home owned by one of the groups more wealthy members. Elizabeth Sumpter has invited all of the group to the estate for the entire 100 days of summer before college or real life begins. Many of the group are splitting up so this get together will be the last hoorah before the group splits for their own paths in life.

The home itself sits on the coast of North Carolina in a small city called Elizabeth City (Not named for Elizabeth Sumpter). It sits on open country side with the Pasquotank River (Called Passie River by the group) nearby.

It's day one and Elizabeth waits for her friends to arrive!




Above is the Sumpter Summer Estate, owned an operated by the Sumpter family. The only adults in the entire estate for the summer will be the maids and cooks, with the head of the house being Madam Kleine, an old woman who seems to be rather chill for her position.

On the first floor is the lobby plus a lounge area, the dining hall, and a kitchen. Below, in the basement, is the cellar as well as the housing for the help (some of them live here, others live in small houses around the estate). On the second floor are all of the rooms, an assortment of different guest rooms. On the left side of the house (left as pictured) are two rooms for pairs to live and on the right is the greenhouse room where a plethora of plants are kept.

At the back of the house is a pool with slide and diving board, as well as ladders. Around the pool are an assortment of outdoor, poolside seating with a blue stone fire-pit in the center.

Beyond the pool is the estate's larger garden where tomatoes, corn, squash, green beans, peas, and apples are grown.

In Depth Appearance:
Henry gets his eyes from his mother, the only trait he retained from her genes. Everything else is a staple of his father, long face with a sharp jawline. Standing at 6'2", weighing 214 lbs, Henry is an entire foot taller than his father, a rather funny looking picture while standing next to the King of Elaniel. With brown eyes and black hair, some would say he looks exactly like his father all those years ago.

Henry likes where he is and who he is and is content with that. He likes to stay well rounded as an individual and likes to experience many different things. He's traveled a bit and knows a few things about this and that, though not in very much depth. He's never been a big studier, preferring to see things as they happen. Because of his history, he has a hard time with romance because of his fear that he will turn out like his father, basically an angry penguin (as Henry calls him). He plans to find the perfect woman and treat her with the utmost loyalty and care that she deserves unlike his father. Because of this, he is strongly opposed to the arranged marriages.

Henry is the type to dance like no one's watching, sing like it's the last time he'll ever be able, a love like tomorrow will never come. He's seen regret and hesitation and what it's done to those around him and wants to avoid that. He's never cared what people thought of him, probably to his downfall later on considering the royal court hates him/judges him. Still, he couldn't care less. He plays video games, goes out to the public and plays basketball, baseball, swims, all with the people he would one day be serving, though they'd probably never guess he was royalty from his actions and appearance.

Biography: Henry was born out of wedlock and if it weren't for his family's/country's love for sons, they wouldn't have accepted him as an heir. His father had an affair while overseas and years later learned of a son he hadn't known he'd had. From his mother, Henry had heard next to nothing about his father except for what a loving man he was and so when he met him, he was quite shocked. This man looked nothing like 10 year old Henry had expected. Though, to be fair to Evan (his father), the idolizations and romantic nature of a young boy's mind had much to play there.

Henry was quickly taken to Elaniel where he was taught how to be a prince, which he found extremely boring and tiring. For the longest time, he never connected to the country, not until he saw it's people. A good majority of Elaniel's population live in poverty while the royal court and the small upper class live in luxury. Since that first venture out of the palace, Henry has since made multiple secret escapes to see these people and talk with them and now despite a disconnect with his country, he found himself caring for them more and more. 2 years later, a sister was born to Henry, little Rosa, the first true royal born Peterson. Despite a hatred for Evan's wife Elizabeth, Henry is very fond of Rosa and often makes trips to her room to cheer her up.

"I think someone said this once before but... for every successful man there is a strong woman behind him. This is what my wife has always been for me."

Henry Sr is every bit the king, running the country with a soft smile. Though the country knows his son gets his eyes from his mother, they also know that his calm and carefee spirit came from his father. Henry Sr is easy to forgive and avoids conflict like the plague. Many other rulers call him the Fluffy King since he has no back bone. He is knid to a fault and probably just as playful as his son if not more so. He gets himself into trouble often because of this, from which his wife saves him, scolding all the while.

Maria Peterson

"He'd drown in his own saliva if it weren't for me."

Maria, formerly a Cross, is every bit the fierce woman. There are rumors circulating that say she is the true ruler, ruling behind her spineless husband. The daughter of a man who went from being Elaniel's number one to the next day's bum, she's faught tooth and nail to get where she is today. She might have been a warmer mother had she grown up differently, but the thoughts of getting kicked out of literally every place she'd ever stayed and the cold wet streets they'd have to sleep on cause her too much pain to be warm to much of anyone.

Meeting Henry changed her life. In one moment, he'd fallen for the struggling girl. He fell for her determination and she fell in love with the thought of him. Soon, however, she found that even she had feelings for this man beyond just wanting a better life. He was kinder than any person she'd ever seen. He treated her like a queen, something she never thought she could deserve.

Her love for her son is rather complicated. She doesn't quite know how to show love for a child beyond giving him a better life than what she had. She does everything thinking it's best for him but it always ends of blowing up in her face with her son yelling at her. She never cries in front of anyone, much too prideful to let anyone, even her son, see that. And it's the same with her daughter.

What the Kingdom is Known For: Its Tourism and hotels. The King and the Queen are owners of all of the major hotel chains and run them closely. The country boasts that it's soils are the most soul enriching. Not to mention the history of the land that seems to bring life to everything it touches.

Kingdom History:

Elaniel's history is fairly plain save for the few fairy tales that are told about the country. One of the most famous tales which brings people from all over the world to Elaniel to view it's stomping grounds is the story of the Butterfly Princess. This princess is named after the dresses that were given to her by the king that had fallen so completely in love with her that he named her the one true Queen.

Her story is as follows...

It is said that long ago, a young maiden was born in a poor village. There, she grew up among poverty and the ill. However, it is told that she was a kind soul and found her happiness there where she could. Her family was a normal one, trying their best to get by where they could.

There in that village, the maiden met a young man by the name of Ryugan and he slowly become her lover as they grew older. However, life was not as simple as the maiden would have liked. The village was suddenly being taxed by the emperor, far more than it could bare to give up. The maiden was upset but did not condone violence, and so, she spoke with the soldier that came to take the tax. She tried her best to convince them but it was all in vain, they would only listen to their emperor and their orders were absolute. They hit the poor maiden and sent her back, hoping the scare would be enough to keep her away from them.

However, it only managed to anger Ryugan, her now husband. He formed a group with the young men and some women of the village and planned an attack on the soldiers that came. They were successful but... all was not fine. Not only was the maiden upset with him, when the soldiers returned, they returned with the general, a powerful man who took Ryugan away from the maiden and took him to the palace to be executed.

Distraught, the maiden packed her things and made way for the palace, nothing on her mind except for her precious loved one. However, her horse was not as fast and as she reached the steps to the palace, it had begun. There stood before her, her love, Ryugan. He was staring lifelessly out at he crowd forming but his eyes lit up as he saw her.

Time slowed as the maiden screamed, running up to her husband. However, as she did, the candle had died and the blade was lifted. Another shrill scream came as it all ended. She cried over the body of her dead husband, his face looking so peaceful. The guards tried to take her away and... as the story goes... she turned around with a rage in her eyes and clawed out the eyes of the first guard to touch her.

Gone was her notion of violence being bad, gone was the sweet maiden they had known before. All that was left, was a shell of the woman she'd left behind. The maiden was broken, her heart shattered. She attacked anyone who came near her. It wasn't until the general approached that she even spoke a word.

"You..." She breathed and then charged at him. To say it was unfair would be an understatement as the general quickly restrained her. The general not one to kill women, made pretense with the people before him and claimed he would kill the wench in his own bedchamber after taking her for himself.

These words broke her further as she fell limp against him, her will completely gone from her. The general's biggest mistake was what he'd done that night. He was kind to the maiden and eventually let her go once things had died down. Not even his niceties would warm her cold heart. She wandered the land, gathering warriors for her cause. She was very charismatic and with this group she attacked many regimes of soldiers, killing innocents in the crossfire.

Eventually, her group grew to the size of an army that she herself led. Clad in shining armor, she and her army comprised of hand picked men made way for the palace. She would have her revenge on this emperor and his men. Blind in her war path, the maiden killed all who stood in her way and finally found herself once again at the steps of the palace, staring at the general who stood before her.

At once and without warning, she rushed at him and the battle commenced. This time, she was an equal match for him and they fought for ages before the general finally consented defeat and laid down his sword. Satisfied, the maiden walked the steps of the palace and smiled as she saw the man before her. The emperor.

However, she did not see him for long as she felt the stinging feel of a sword through her back. The general had lied and now his sword sat inside of her stomach.

That day, the maiden died and as she did, the emperor looked down at her with piercing gray eyes. She slowly drifted... to where, she didn't know. But soon, she came to a meadow where Ryugan sat, smiling at her. However, as she approached, his smile faded and she looked down to see herself covered in blood. He smiled turned to tears as he watched her.

"My love... what have you become? I'm so sorry..."

His voice was soft and trembling as he lifted a hand to touch her. She jumped away as he came close, realizing exactly what she had become. She could feel her body being pulled away from him by the hands of the people she had killed. She could feel the darkness wrapping around her, pulling her in.

And then... a light pierced it's way in the form of a single blue butterfly. It flittered down and the darkness crept away. It's light was utterly blinding to the maiden.

"Hello. It seems you have been lost on your path, little one..." It spoke to her, or so the story goes. The lone butterfly offered the maiden a choice. She could spend eternity in darkness, or she could come back to earth as a goddess and spend her entire life making up for her actions. If she saved enough people, she might be able to come back and be with Ryugan again.

The maiden, not having much of a choice, took the entity up on their offer and thus the legend of the Butterfly Princess was born. Now named Cho, she has long forgotten her real name. The only memory she keeps with her now, is the smiling face of her loved one in the meadow. Since then, she has been chased by generations of emperors who no longer know the reason why they chase her, what chaos she had inflicted upon them in her life.

This story is passed down through generations. A shrine stands in Aruwan, one of the nation's smallest but most wealthy cities. It is a homely village and the shrine is visited often. The shrine has both the goddess' Butterfly gown, but also her armor, which is said to be what she wore when fighting the general. It also houses all of the tools she used when she became a doctor to save as many people as she could so she could finally die and reunite with Ryugan.
