Credit to Kuro for the original concept

Greetings everyone! Ithradine here with a very specific RP request! Thank for you taking interest and I hope what is below captures your attention. First off, I shall say that this 1x1 was originally designed for a group-casual RP. It didn't quite kick off and I became busy with IRL stuff. Secondly, I ask that you have a little knowledge of the Muv-Luv universe coming into this. It will make this all run smoother but if you don't, that's fine! There is a brief insight into the world in the directory at the bottom of the post! If you would like to try this RP out, please send me a PM where we can talk about it in more detail!

A few years into the 1960s Humanity had undergone incredible leaps in technology. A permanent outpost had been established on the Moon, called Plato-1, in the year 1950 marking a significant step in mankind's quest for the stars. Then in 1958, a probe sent by the United States arrived at Mars and made a discovery that would change the course of human history forever. The probe sent back images of alien beings and structures before losing contact. All further attempts to send probes to Mars were met with failure. This did not deter the world's greatest minds from devising plans to allow them to communicate with this alien life. These same alien lifeforms invaded the moon in 1967 and began to attack facilities all across the surface, killing and devouring all in their path. They were thus named Beings of Extraterrestrial origin which is Adversary of human race or BETA for short. Humanity's fight for survival had just begun.

The BETA landed on Earth in 1973 after the recall of all forces on the Moon. From here on, they began a gruesome, and brutal harvest of all life and resources located on the planet. All attempts to communicate with the BETA were met with absolute failure. Years pass with the majority of Europe and Asia being taken over leaving the world wondering if nothing will turn the battle in their favor. Hundreds of Millions of lives lost, entire countries destroyed, and land stripped of all resources. Society stands on the brink of collapse as unrest spreads among the civilian and refugee populations due to food shortages and terrible living conditions.

The beginning of the year 2000, however, marked a change in the war. Leaders from the United Nations, Soviet Union, Japan, and the United states met in secret and devised a daring plan named Alternative VI that targeted the original BETA hive in Kashgar. The operation, later known as Operation Shattered Steel, would result in the first major victory for Humanity with the elimination of the hive and its Superior. This victory came at a cost of many TSF pilots and ground forces though there was no time to slow down. Study of this battle gave birth to the military theory 'Hybrid Arms', in which the different doctrines and TSFs present across the world would be used in tandem with each other.

It is now 2004 and Humanity is slowly making progress against the BETA. Europe is still under BETA control but there have been other victories across the world since 2000. A series of daring operations immediately after Operation Shattered Steel in the East resulted in the subjugation of Cheorwon, Sadogashime, and Evensk hives. An after action-report done from the forces that subjugated the Cheorwon hive, the last one to be destroyed, detailed an unknown strain of BETA within the central chamber of the hive that appeared to be in a larval state. Attempted elimination of the strain resulted in the loss of 75% of all military personnel that made contact. All information regrading this encounter was immediately classified leaving only the survivors and the top brass aware of what happened.

The nations of the world have agreed to take the strategy of Hyrbid Arms with its next step, the creation of a squadron using personnel and TSFs from different ideologies. You have been selected to join the 212th Tactical Armored Battalion--"The Grim Crows"--as one of four of these mixed squadrons under the newly formed department, Global Operations Council or GOC. It is up to you, rookie or veteran, to show the world that victory is possible through a combined effort.

Below you fill find information and links that will expand your understanding of the Muv-Luv world.

The history of the world diverges from real world history as early as 1867. Besides the alien menace that has taken a large portion large portion of the world as we know it there is plenty else different. For starters jet plane development has come to a grinding halt with the appearance of the Laser Class BETA, who fire with such percision that they can strike down a fighter jet from some 30km away. In response to this, the forces of the world began to develop a weapon from an exo-skeleton walker that was first deployed on the moon during the First Lunar War against the BETA and proved to be one of the few things capable of standing toe-to-toe against them. This development eventually gave way to the Tactical Surface Fighter, or TSF as it is commonly referred to, which is what your characters will be piloting.

The Soviet Union and her Warsaw PACT satellites are alive and kicking, although without countries for the most part. Most, if not all, of the PACT forces were absorbed into the UN Military Force but are still a force to be reckoned with. Communists and Capitalists still despise each other, and despite facing a mutual enemy both forces still play a deadly game of espionage and spying behind the expansive curtain of the war against the BETA. Media is highly controlled, with only active serving military members and those who have seen the BETA first hand even knowing what they look like. The Internet as we know it does not exist. The KGB, US Intelligence offices, and other nations' secret services still exist, and are a very real presence everywhere one goes with the power to be judge, jury, and executioner. Much of the surviving people not fighting against the BETA live in terrible conditions in refugee camps and survive off of algae-based food.

Time: Night
Location: Lover's Lake
Vibes: "Give me one night to mend the pain..."

Upon exiting the club, Genesis sucked in a small breath, enjoying the cool air on her face. Her cheeks were buzzing, a result of the liquor she had so heavily ingested. A quick look around the parking lot revealed nothing to her, as she hadn’t brought a car and none of the ones there seemed familiar. Not that she was sober enough to drive. Usually, she’d just sit around a vacant spot and cry until her head was clear enough to make the trek home. Now, though, she had an expectant partner.

Turning to face him, she offered him a suggestion. “The campground’s far from here, but would you like to take me home?” They were heading somewhere, after all. Why not home? “Maybe we can stop by the lake, have a bit of privacy.”

“It will be Volfango’s greatest honor.” He replied looking into her eyes, which were even more captivating without the Trance’s artificial light. “You please Voflango’s ears with those words! You shall learn about the magnificent Volfango...and Volfango shall learn about your mystifying self.” The words rolled off his tongue as he walked with her.

It couldn’t happen soon enough. The bestial spirit that now residing within him was once more struggling against its cage. Volfango had barely been a werewolf for over a week, though he had managed to prevent a transformation as of yet by drowning himself in familiar pleasures. He had seen the others of the pack transform and despite seeing it firsthand, it still terrified him what it would do to him. However, there was nothing to worry about tonight. His couldn’t dwell on it too long whenever his eyes caught sight of Genesis. He was eager for that privacy she mentioned.

As they walked, Genesis struggled to think of a proper topic to talk about. She didn’t want to cross any lines, but she didn’t want to stay in the dark, either. “So...” she began, still searching for the right words. “Are you enjoying everything that comes with the change?”

She was all too aware of how loaded that question was. Every new wolf had a different answer. Yes, I love the power. No, I hate lying to my family. Genesis personally couldn’t imagine life without her beast, but she understood to an extent how difficult it could be to change entirely over the span of five days.

“Speaking of...How long has it been since the bite?” She continued, running a manicured nail along the flesh of his forearm. “Everyone’s excited to see how you look…” She smirked playfully, moving to poke him in the side. “But it’s alright if you’re shy.”

The normally vibrant and smiling expression he had been wearing all night faded slightly following her question. He could skirt around the question like he’s done so far, but he never liked hiding the truth. As he weighed his thoughts, she came at him with another question. He chuckled at her last words. “Volfango is far from shy.” With the distance they had left, perhaps it was best to come clean now.

”The bite happened a little over a week ago and even Volfango does not know what form he will take.” Everyday it grew more and more difficult to avoid the change. ”Volfango is stronger and faster than ever before and the world is far more vivid.” That much he enjoyed but his life had taken a sharp turn. “However, it has taken Volfango’s choice from him. His life is now tied to this...change.” His voice was uncharacteristically solemn. It was difficult to not think of this as a curse.

”Do not worry! There is nothing that can stop the exquisite and amazing Volfango!” His voice and demeanor instantly picked back up. This was something he was going to have to live with so he wouldn’t mope about it. It was the van Wolfgang way to tackle problems like this head-on! No matter his fear, he would strive to make this new-life his own!

Genesis stayed silent for some time after this, taking in his words as she stared down at the path below. Maybe now wasn’t the best time to make things all mopey, but she wanted to assure him. “My mother used to tell all the new wolves what they were in for.” A brief pause followed as she encouraged herself to continue talking about her mother. The mere mention of her was enough to pull forth emotions best hidden.

“Excitement, power like nothing they’d experienced before. A new family.” She cleared her throat, glancing up at him to see if he was listening. “A long, eventful life of being hunted by enemies who’d only grow stronger as the years went on. It’s a lot of good, and just as much bad. You’re going to have to learn to defend yourself now, and be wary of people that wouldn’t have spared you a second glance only a week ago.”

“That being said, I’m nothing but confident in your abilities, and if you need someone to show you the ropes I’ll be around.” She shrugged, not sure if that was what he needed or wanted to hear. She felt like it had to be said, though. “I hope you learn to love it.”

Volfango listened attentively as she spoke, deciding to wait until she was completely finished to reply. He could feel great sadness in the way she spoke about her mother, and saw it in her expressions. The kind of sorrow that comes from the loss of someone very dear. He greatly appreciated her honesty in telling him how the situation stood. It was time for him to stop grieving for the life he once had, and make the most of his current situation.

”What kinds of rope will mi dea be showing?” Volfango looked at with a seductive gaze while a large smirk creased his lip, attempting to brighten the conversation back up. ”With nights like this, there is plenty that Voflango can come to love.” Upon saying this, he made sure to look her straight in the eyes. Volfango had been the kind of person to carve his own path so his pride often prevented him from seeking outside help. However, he may make an exception for once...for Genesis. ”Are we close to our destination?” He asked, wondering what she had in mind once they got their privacy.

Genesis' face grew hot as he brought up potential love. For a moment, she stared back into his emerald eyes, so clear and honest. It was terrifying, to the point where she was forced to avert her gaze. Was he trying to make something out of this? It wasn't supposed to go anywhere.

Looking out at the path before them, she ignored his statement and chose to answer his question instead. “It's not too far from here, actually." They had traveled further than she'd expected, the pavement had become dirt some time ago.

For the remainder of the journey, she didn't verbally acknowledge him. She kept close, arm still hooked around his own. By the time they reached the lake, the scents and sounds of the woods had begun to creep into focus. It was calming, but Genesis couldn't relax. She was flip-flopping between expressing her worries and giving in. On the one hand, she was sure Volfango would understand her desire to keep things casual. On the other hand, she could always tell him later and spare herself the embarrassment if she happened to be wrong.

The latter option was probably best.

Halting their progression, she went to stand in front of him, hand moving to cup his cheek. In a moment she prayed she wouldn't regret, her fingers crept back into his hair. Tilting his face down, she planted a heavy kiss on his lips.

Volfango immediately returned the favor as his hands took hold of her hips. He would make sure that she would not regret her choice and give her the experience only one such as Volfango could give. The obligations would go not further than tonight, as was his creed. Moments like this were his addiction, a drug that was impossible for him to kick. His troubles washed away in their heated embrace, if only for tonight.

Time: Night
Location: Holiday Inn
Interaction: @Alivefalling - Marceau

Helene was not about to argue with the progenitor of all vampires so she decided to follow him, not once thinking of giving him the slip. "Very well, I shall follow your lead." She had never met a hunter in person before so she had no experience to draw from regarding their power, but if Marceau said it was dangerous for her it had to be true. They soon left the sketchy part of the town with Helene walking behind Marceau like an obedient child, her eyes scanning from side to side taking in the sights. If she presented no threat to the hunters that prowled Ember Grove, would they still seek her death? Helene wanted to believe they wouldn't but she had seen the reports gathered by the Sinclaire Foundation. Hunters were human, and humans killed other humans in cold-blood all the time. If shared humanity didn't stop humans from murdering each other, then it would be easier for them to kill someone like her.

This depressing train thought showed in the somber look she had as they arrived at their destination. A place where humans purchased temporary residence usually during their travels. She reached out and took the card from Marceau, glancing it over as he finished talking. Once more, she gave a curtsy and lowered her head slightly "I am sincerely grateful, your grace." She then rose from her cursty "I shall call if I am ever in need. If you would excuse me, I will obtain a room now." The truth was she had already secured an apartment in town using her allocated wealth from the Sinclaire Foundation. After receiving Marceau's blessing to leave, she would depart for the Holiday Inn. The entire exchange had been so nerve-wracking for Helene that she swore she could feel her heat beating in her chest.

Time: Night
Location: Hidden Alleyway
Interaction: @Alivefalling - Marceau

If heart could beat then it might have bounced right out of her chest as Marceau took her hand and began leading her off the street. Hunters were definitely bad news but she was more terrified of the possibility of returning to her mother without having explored what the world had to offer. Her fears were confirmed when they stopped, he did wish to return her to Catherine. While relieved he didn't want her for any other purpose, this was not all that much better in her opinion. There was no way she would allow herself to return. At the very least she had promised someone she would seen them tomorrow. Helene would not allow herself to break such a promise.

She felt a lump in throat as she began to speak "I truly do not know, sir.". Helene honestly had no idea of where in the world her mother was located, after all this wasn't exactly a sanctioned trip. Still, she couldn't afford to lie to someone like Marceau, nor did she believe it was even possible "Please, I don't wish to return home. I wish to see the rest of the world." Her voice became more resolute. Would she be able to run away? Her mother had trained her well but there was no telling what Marceau was capable in person. Helene hoped the the higher vampire would understand her desire. There was still much to understand and she had barely begun her journey.

Time: Night
Location: Trance Club
Interaction: @MsMorningstar - Genesis

The front doors to the club flung open as Volfango entered the room in stride and without missing a beat announced his arrival.

"Do not fret any longer for wondrous Volfango has arrived!" His smooth voice carried out through club even amidst the drowning sound of the music, as he flung his hands out wide and looked upwards to the ceiling.

He did not keep the pose long and immediately began walking forward, drawing all kinds of eyes from the various groups that populated Trance. The muscular nature of his body was shamelessly revealed in a slightly see-through, black shirt with a large v-neck. The black chino pants seemed perfectly tailored to his body, tight yet not too revealing. Volfango could feel the eyes of both women and men stare him down, some were intimidated, some wanted a piece, but all of them were interested in every move he made. Volfango would not fault them for understanding the true magnificence and allure that was his visage.

This is exactly where he belonged. All that business regarding the supernatural could be forgotten in the sea of music and people. For one night or a few, someone here would have the privilege of an sensual experience out of this world. His eyes darted across the room and he was instantly drawn to one individual immediately. His eyes locked with hers as he made his way to the bar, a half-smile on his lips as he reached the stool to her left. Volfango's gaze shifted briefly to the bartender "Volfango requests two Bronx and the drink of choice for the bellissima dea." His words were spoken swiftly and without flaw for he knew well what he wanted. He leaned on the bar using his left arm, and turned to Genesis "A curse fall upon Volfango to allow a beautiful flower such as yourself be starved of his fabulous company." He said as he made the sign of the cross followed up with a charming grin.

Volfango however could not shake the feeling he had seen this marvel before, though he would have surely remember seeing one such as she! However, this week has brought forth so many changes that Volfango was having trouble making sense of it all and the reality of his situation had still yet to hit. It wasn't until recently that werewolves, vampires, and witches were nothing but fiction. For tonight, Volfango planned to forget all of it and submerge himself in the pleasures of flesh for Volfango was as generous as he was handsome.

As the first of his drinks came, he took a quick sip of the martini before placing it down "Do no be afraid to bask in the majesty that is Volfango!" Volfango placed both hands on his hips, the action simultaneously flexing his pectorals and biceps.

Time: Night
Location: Rachel Bromberg's House
Interaction:

Few understand what makes a monster. Are they born or created? Fated to be or molded to shape? The question was as dubious as the meaning of life, for it depended on who was asking. How can you explain why two perfectly supportive parents could foster a serial killer with no remorse for another living creature? How can you explain a person that grew up in an abusive and destructive household growing up to be a renowned physicist? Lucius had pondered the question on what makes a monster for much of the first few centuries of his existence, eventually giving up on finding a concrete, encompassing answer. However as he approached Rachel's home, He found himself pondering the question once more. Rachel was a saint to some, but to Lucius she was nothing more than cowardly leech. A monster veiled with sweet lies and promises that would drive her coven to destruction.

A exchange of bright smiles were had as he rang the doorbell and Rachel was there to greet him. Though she was weary of him at first, Lucius had wormed his way into her mind and now she trusted him enough to have a friendly dinner "Did you enjoy those chocolates I sent earlier?" A wide smirk on his lips, a teasing look in his eyes as he gazed longingly into hers. She responded with a sly smile "I did in fact, turns out whoever sent them doesn't have bad taste." She said playfully, tugging on his right arm as she leaned up to place a single kiss on his cheek. A light chuckle left his lips as she looked down at her once more "Well, I'm sure he will be pleased to hear that. Now, let's make this a night to remember." The moment she turned her head to lead him into the dining room, his face released the false pleasantries. No matter how often he played this kind of role, it was always more exhausting that it should be.

Before Rachel could sit down, Lucius moved around her in order to pull out her chair. After she sat down, he pushed her forward forcing another pretentious smile. He took his own seat and took a look at the food laid out before him, both the heat and aroma hitting him in waves. Whatever his thoughts about Rachel, her cooking was certainly nothing to make light of "Ah, I'm not going to lie it's nice to be doing this. It feels like Ember Grove is crawling ever closer to war. I just hope I can keep our coven out of it." Lucius could hear the exasperation in her voice, recent events were stressing her out more than she wanted him to know. For one that has lived as long as she, he would have thought she would realize conflicts were a natural part of evolution "Whatever happens, you have my complete support. You know that, right?" He let it known in his voice he was insecure about their relationship, and as expected Rachel caught on to this "I do, and I'm grateful though I have to admit I was suspicious when you first came into town." Rachel giggled after saying this, like the notion was completely ridiculous. However, Lucius could read between the lines. She had found something out that she really shouldn't have. Regardless, it was too little too late.

Lucius laughed once and with a grin replied "I didn't make it any easier on myself, I was a bit...eccentric to say the least." It was too early to play his hand, but much to his surprise she simply continued on with a different subject. Certain of being discovered, he was caught off-guard "You got that right, but then again it made me interested. So, how is the roast?" She asked with a hopeful smile, full of life. This was something that, at the very least, he could be honest with her about. A parting gift so to speak "It is excellent." He spoke with a mouth half-full "Perhaps the best meal I've had all month." He had swallowed before continuing. The happiness that shined in her eyes was disturbing, so comfortable in her life and so afraid of the struggle all species go through. Live or Die. Stagnate or Evolve. Fight or Perish. These were the mechanisms in which all life grows stronger.

After eating his fill and enduring a tedious conversation, Lucius had derived all the useful information he could from her. He stood up from his chair at the same time Rachel did, a spark of electricity connected their gazes as they moved closer. In one smooth, fluid motion Lucius embraced Rachel in his arms as they both looked into each other's eyes with longing "What would you say to staying to the night?" The wine they had drank from the meal was affecting her, but in no severe degree. Regardless of whether she was intoxicated or sober, he had no plans to stay the night. Rather, he would make sure that she would never leave this house alive. He inched his head closer til his lips were almost pressed against her ear and in one, quiet whisper spoke "Anima moritur cum furtum tempus" As the last word was spoken, he could feel her nails dig into his shirt and into his skin. A mere two seconds later and they stopped, leaving Lucius with a lifeless body in his arms.

It had been one of his most accomplished poisons, a staple he had relied on for centuries. The ingredients were quite difficult to collect but the result was well worth the effort. This magical poison is absorbed into the blood-stream for 12 hours waiting to be activated. Its potency was unrivaled and for humans, death occurred in seconds. All it required is one, simple phrase to be heard. However, this was only the first step of what he planned to do here tonight. He laid her gently to the floor and slipped on a pair of latex gloves before retrieving a pair of vampire teeth molded from one of his many victims. Lucius positioned the teeth around a bit in order to get the right angle, before pressing down on the ends of the teeth puncturing her neck. Blood spilled on the floor as he carefully avoided getting any on himself.

Without Rachel, Lucius would be able to seize power of the coven and lead them in a different direction. One by one he would make each one of them ruthless user of the dark magics, an army to seed the land with chaos starting with Ember Grove. The native Vampires would make a good first start, thus his intentions here. Deception. Mistrust. Revenge. His plans were beginning to fall in line with his goal, to make Ember Grove the first warzone of many between humanity and the forces of the supernatural. With a clean cloth from inside his coat pocket, he wiped the device clean. Lucius spent the next 10 minutes cleaning the area of any traces that would lead back to him. He was happy that this little date of theirs was kept a secret.

Lucius put his coat back on and took one last look at his work, the room showed signs of a struggle with the knocked over wine and furniture thrown about "Goodnight Rachel, It was certainly an enchanting evening." He exited through the front door and peeled off the gloves, placing them in one hand before speaking "Adhibete flammis" The gloves vanished amidst the heat of the flames and he began his leisurely walk back to his home. Unlike some of the other residents of Ember Grove, her preferred to be asleep at night. His thoughts drifted towards warm pastries and a hot cup of tea before bed. Now that was to die for.
