Mary | Abandoned Subway Forward Base

As advised by Nero, the Order members had set up a small checkpoint at the Abandoned Subway near Memorial park. An important looking Order knight named Rodan directed and supervised while Mary stood awkwardly off in the corner. Even if she was a decent fighter and was a part of the Order, she wasn't an Order knight. So there wasn't really much for her to do while her comrades set up base.

Eventually, everything was set up, and there were some Order members ready to begin searching the underground system of Balour just like Gilgamesh's "Reclaimer" squad. Mary decided she would happily lead half of this squad, the other half being lead by Rodan. Both of them were to report back immediately if they found the ruins, so they could go grab the Field Commander. They were also told not to engage if possible.

Mary's group quickly diverged from Rodan's, since the tunnel quickly split off into a side tunnel. Rodan took the main tunnel, and Mary directed her group into the other hallway. It looked as if it was in deeper disrepair than the other one, danker and more moldy. Hopefully that meant that the way she was going lead to an older area, like, say, the ruins she needed to find.

A few twists and turns later, she and her crew were stopped in their tracks. A small liquid beast was in between them, and the only other direction to go. It was probably a demon, all things considered. She knew Nero said not to engage, but this thing was directly in their way. Surely the fate of the world meant more than orders. She would at least try reasoning with it, though judging by it's mindless nature, it probably wouldn't work.

Mary walked up to the beast, arms open and weapons stored. A gesture of goodwill towards the creature. It slowly turned in Mary's direction, groaning all the while. As it saw her, it paused briefly, before raising it's arm and slamming it downwards onto Mary.

"Hmph. Okay."

The strike was easily blocked by the Falling Leaf Blade, deftly pulled out as the demon winded up. It was a strike more powerful than a full force human, but with Mary's attributes it was deflected with ease. She quickly dashed around to the flank of the monster and stabbed it in the side as many times as she could. Every time she pulled it out, the blade became covered in more blood. The foul stench filled her nostrils, intoxicating her and putting her on edge. The thing swung at her again, this time a bit faster. She easily stepped out of it's range.

"Get back, please." She pleasantly commanded to the soldiers. Since Ascension was no longer common practice, it was best if Mary dealt with this beast in an environment free of people to get in her way. Not that it would matter much since this would be quick. A flick of this wrist, and the Plain Ol' Doll was in her hands, and unloading 3 shots in quick succession into the short blob. It flinched visibly, and Mary decided she would go in for the kill.

She put away both of her previous weapons and pulled out her master's old favorite. The Burial Suit. She dashed forward with it raised, a blank expression on her pale face flecked with blood. And in an instant, it was over. For a second, all seemed quiet, until the being exploded into a geyser of blood, staining the walls and the back of Mary's dress.

She looked at the stain in dismay. "Ah damn." She mumbled as she thought of how much of a pain this would be to remove. But the weirdest part was the blood seemed human. And a quick look behind confirmed the demon didn't dissolve. Infact, it wasn't a demon. It appeared to be some kind of telekinetic construct. It was possible that the demon in the park had made these, and it was guarding the entrance to the ruins somewhere nearby.

Mary pressed on with more resolve. She needed to find these ruins, stat.
Damnit i didnt get post 200! B[

But in all seriousness may i suggest blood orange, @Lmpkio? Its always been one of my favorites.
Wait do two people have the same shade of red? Cuz thats what it looks like.
Mary | Near Main Street

A small breath escaped Mary's mouth as a cold fog rolled in over her. Part of her really wanted to get back to her hotel room now. But part of her wanted to stay. This certainly was better than the rain that she was being subjected to before. And a cold front was a common indicator of certain demons rolling in. Certainly a change so quick was suspect?

Her suspicions turned out to be correct. From about a street or two over, she noticed some sort of black gas flowing through the streets. It carried a weight to it, as if it was intentionally being held together by some force. She even heard it scrape against some objects. Her breath quickened slightly. The demon looked like trouble, even to a girl like her. She was thankful of the citizenry for returning to there abodes, but deep down Mary knew a divine being wouldn't show itself so readily unless it had a purpose. That purpose seemed to be in Memorial Park, judging by the direction of the smog.

She quickly flipped out her phone. 4 bars, lucky her. She needed to make some calls. Her first was to the Order knight that had accompanied her to the meeting. She directed him to Memorial park with express caution to the smoke demon. There was a possibility it couldn't be hurt by regular weapons. And she was unsure if it came alone. If it really was after the Seal, then she doubted it came alone. The man replied he would mobilize his forces immediately, half towards the park to neutralize the demon, half underground to look for the seal and guard it once they found it.

There was another call Mary needed to make too, one to the Field General himself. She put in his number but hesitated slightly as she hit the call button. Was he even free? Did they even need him? These questions raced through her mind as she hit the button.

"Hey."
"Hello Field General Nero."
"Just call me Nero, Mary."
"Yes. There's a bit of an issue."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah."
"...Then tell me what it is."
"There's a big demon in Memorial park that's trying to destroy the world. It's gonna break an important seal underground."
"Okay. I'll be there soon!"

With that, Mary hung up the phone, and quickly ran into the subway station she was originally going to take home. It seemed the tram wouldn't be coming for a while, so she was safe to use it as a door to the larger underground system that pervaded the city. She didn't know much about this city, but one thing she did know was that the city had some relations to a certain demon. She was sure that that, and the second seal being here were related. So she was going to the ruins underneath the city. The order hadn't really studied these ruins before. hopefully they would get a chance without the threat of the apocalypse hanging over her head. But currently, those cards weren't on the table.

Mary | Meeting

A small 'Oh!' escaped Mary's lips as the lazy-looking man offered his assistance in the manhunt. He didn't seem like the type to be out on the field very often. More so the guy to be chilling around the house... But she wouldn't judge. She was sure his body guard over there would protect him either way. Speaking of her, she explained she knew of this phenomenon and had sent out the signal for more operatives already. Had The Order really been the only ones who were unaware?

Lady and Sevrin answered Mary's question, only the finest were to be brought along, other troops were to remain as lookouts. She would really have to look into getting the Field Commander to come along now. They also warned that both Angels and Demons were a possible threat. Apparently demons wanted to rule over humanity. Mary frowned a bit at that. The story of Sparda was real, and she used it as an example that some demons weren't all bad. But she guessed she could see their point.

After that, everyone quickly switched gears. Now they were back in normal meeting mode. Sevrin pulled out a briefcase, and began pulling out files for both The Order and Gilga Inc. Mary did much of the same, swapping papers with both of the other organizations at the meeting. A small smile could be seen as she handed over her file on the Hell Vanguard, and hoped her suggestion regarding making a sickle out of it didn't go unnoticed.

After all was said and done and all of her new files were in check, she stood up and began to make her way out after the two DHO representatives with her friend. The Order knight was actually stationed here, so he would return back to his temporary home. Mary. on the other hand, was going to a crappy motel. Once there she would call Kyrie and inform her of the situation. See if Nero was available. But for now, she had to trek to her room. In the rain. Without an umbrella. Ah well.
Hmmmmm....while I can see the reasoning behind it, would it still be possible for him to join the Council? As he has no love for Heaven or Hell, and I'm sure in many regards the feeling is mutual from them to him thanks to the Horsemen, and he hasn't met humanity yet in his wandering.

At a certain point all characters will be contacted by the council and asked to join. They can refuse and go on their own adventure or join the council's warriors and save the world.
Just checking in to make sure this is still... alive.

Mary's head whipped around as a man entered the room, and informed her that he 'wasn't late.' He lackadaisically got comfortable, pulling his jacket off and his chair out so he could sit down. Taking a glance at her phone confirmed that he wasn't late. He was exactly on time, actually. Glancing back up revealed a monstrous woman made of metal. It seemed she had taken a path to power opposite to Mary's biological experimenting. She was decked head to toe in body modifications, and judging by her silent approach, some sort of cloaking device too. She introduced herself and her brother, as well as explaining the reason they were late. Demons outside. Now Mary REALLY hoped Sev didn't pay much for this place.

Mary's face scrunched up a bit as Sev mentioned there was 'important business' before the meeting. Her second one and already something was happening? As Lady spoke about the increased demon rates, particularly the Fortuna incident, Mary frowned in displeasure, but was secretly happy to have more chances for demons and humans to interact. Also, more materials. She was already thinking up some sort of solution, but her thought process was stopped in it's tracks when Lady brought up the Seven Seals.

Mary hoped against all hope that what she thought had happened hadn't. From what she could find on the seven seals, breaking them all would lead to the apocalypse. Lady explained that, yes, one had been broken. Last month, so long ago! Mary was amiss at how she did not notice this trend. Of course the rise in demons wasn't natural... And, according to Lady, the next one was in this city. Priority #1 for this meeting was creating a strike team to make sure whoever was breaking the seals was stopped in their tracks.

"Hmm..." Mary mumbled, thinking things through. Well, there were a few choices here. With the Order's extensive knowledge oh divine lore it only made sense to bring one of them along. Nero made sense as a front line fighter, but she wasn't sure if he was available currently. She'd have to ask Kyrie about that. Obviously, Mary herself also made sense. She had been on a few field missions before, not many but a few. She would definitely be able help, was the point.

"I'll see how many Order knights we'd be able to spare, but I'd love to join personally. I'll also see if the Field Commander would be able to help. How many people do we need for this?" Mary said, before sipping on some of her coffee.
<Snipped quote by Kafka Komedy>

He's field commander for the Order of the Sword with Kyrie as it's leader.
