Sorry to post so much, but since we have a decent amount of traffic I'm going to go ahead and give you guys the CS template so you can start work on characters and whatnot! We're going to give it a couple more days to see if anyone else gets drawn in and then get the OOC up and running!

Note that you will need to remove the space from the "hr" tags, otherwise it won't print out a line when you post. D:
@Genon Hmm, not sure. I'll PM you a direct link to see if that works for you. :D

Ki, at its simplest, can be thought of as life energy, invisible, preternatural, and primordial. It has gone by many names, and it empowers and imbues all living things. Everyone has some amount of ki inside them, and ki gives them the strength to grow and live. Most people have a ‘normal’ amount of ki, and display no abnormal abilities.

While some people are born with a small amount of ki, while others are born with massive amounts. It depends on their ancestry, as someone's great ancestors can pass on their ki throughout the generations (They have to be dead for this to occur, however). The further they get away from their ancestors, the less ki they can be gifted with. However, long as a warrior trains, they never have to worry about their descendants running out of a natural supply of ki. However, if one descends from a magical being of some kind, then they will always have a naturally large amount of ki.

These beings are capable of superhuman feats, ranging from speed, to strength, to durability, to agility, resilience. All of these feats increase alongside a person’s ki reserves and can occasionally open the way to unusual powers. Many modern hospitals, for example, often have a ki specialist who can treat illnesses that affect life energy, or use their own ki reserves to heal injuries. However, the average joe will most likely know about ki in the context of Nomads.

The nomad has become a staple of global pop culture in the last century or so. he name 'nomad' refers to a wandering warrior with fantastical powers, a vagabond who, for one reason or another, travels the world seeking new fights and new challenges. They have epic showdowns, they participate in international martial arts tournaments, and they are features in movies, TV shows, and airport paperbacks. On Earth, there are such Nomads such as life-like automatons, a literal demonic artist from Hell, and your good ol' ki-wielding doctors to name a few, and many dozens more waiting for the chance to prove their mettle... at least that's what Hollywood's latest multibillion blockbuster about Nomads tells us.

By nature of their ki, your average nomad or nomad-level person can punch through walls, deflect most bullets like paper spitballs, and is shrouded by a subtle shield of life energy that makes them difficult to damage by conventional means. Of course, as with all things, if you hit them enough times with enough force, or enough ki, these defenses eventually break. Keep in mind that your character doesn’t have to be a ‘proper’ nomad, or even have to rely on ki, as magic and technology can allow even otherwise normal humans to tangle with ki-powered superhumans.

Ki can be increased several ways. For most, meditation is one of the most basic—if unrewarding—ways to build ki, and this life energy, whether it’s called ‘ki’ or otherwise, often figures into a variety of religions. Disciplined physical training that unites the mind and the body is another way to increase ki. Because of the lasting impression of the nomad on pop culture, most people will associate ki with physical training, especially martial arts. Indeed, martial arts is probably the most effective and straightforward way to build ki.

■ Humans
Humans are the dominant species in this world and make up the majority of the population as well as a healthy portion of the nomads. Renowned for their mastery of ki throughout the centuries, what sets human apart from older races with seemingly more powerful ki is sheer versatility. Humans possess hundreds of fighting styles both new and old to channel their ki, some even choosing to fight with the aid of advanced technology, arcane artistry, or whatever else works for them.

■ Machines
Obviously a newer entry into the Nomadic world, Machines cover any artificially created or augmented being forged through the incredible power of science. Ranging from cyborgs to androids to sentient drones, machines forgo ki in favor of advanced technology to give them an edge in any fight. For that reason machines rarely use ki themselves, though some partially Machine beings like cyborgs can still use it, so long as part of them is living enough to draw life force from.

■ Mythics
Mythics is the umbrella term used to describe beings of mythical origin, distinct from humans and machines. This includes classic mythological beings like centaurs and oni, divine creatures such as angels or demons, and even folkloric monsters like werewolves and vampires. Like humans, Mythics have the ability to wield ki as well, and many of their fantastic abilities, often labeled by humans as "magic" to make it sound other, are simply different styles of ki as innately tied to blood and heredity as any human ki abilities. Indeed, while oftentimes branded as an Other in a world where they are very much the minority, it is not uncommon to find humans and even Nomads with the blood of a Mythic running in their veins.

(More to come)

"Ever since the dawn of time, there was an invisible force flowing through everyone... the pure fighting spirit known as Ki. Through their understanding of ki, the greatest warriors could train the mind, the heart, the body, and the soul to perform the impossible. Strength beyond what the body would allow, speed beyond all speed, and weaponizing your fighting spirit in raw form... all from the mastery of the pure fighting spirit of ki. Many are capable of using ki, but few are able to utilize it to it's fullest potential. These few are known to the world as Nomads, fighters that travel the world for their own reasons - whether it be personal betterment, fortune and glory, or saving the world as they deem fit. Of course, this isn't as simple, as they will inevitably cross paths and clash with other Nomads pursuing their own dreams and desires..."

"... and in the end, only the strongest and most skilled fighters are able to come out on top."

Hello my fellow street fighters and mortal combatants, and welcome to Nomadic Fist: Radiant Soul. This RP takes place in a quirky, anime-and-fighting-games-themed world (think of shows like Hunter x Hunter and One Punch Man, or games similar to Darkstalkers and Street Fighter) where supernatural warriors known as "Nomads" head out and engage in supernatural battles. Fueled by ki, magic, or technology, they journey the world, and, for whatever reason, they seek out fights.

This won’t quite be a PVP roleplay, and is more story and character driven, with your characters fighting NPCs and a variety of sinister plots (with player fights for special occasions). The world is very, very free-form; lore is loose (basically amounting to everything described in the game manual), and you’re free to create almost any kind of character or backstory you please.

So what do you all say? Are you all itching for a fight for the ages or a bizarre adventure? Well, your story begins here!

(Originally constructed by @Ruler Inc; thanks for bringing everyone together bub; also, rip original title card).

Seiginoyari Sector, Planet [LOCATION REDACTED], SHINKEI Institute Test Bunker 5

"...can't believe we're being sidelined for half a cycle!"

Mina Balik glanced up from the aquatic plant she was cultivating as a reptile-like Hellion with vibrant red scales barged into the dorms, tossing his helmet into the far wall with a resounding "clunk".

"Count your blessings, Aile," chided the burly goatlike Hellion that followed him into the room. "Back when you could count number of PARAGONS on one hand, time off'd be a miracle."

"But a HALF A CYCLE!?" the Hellion Aile vented, collapsing onto his bunk irritably. "Nothing but tests and practice runs and no action to speak of! Seriously Serago, the miracle is if I don't go nuts waiting for something to do!"

"You could take up Kanter Cultivating," Mina piped into the conversation, gesturing to the wobbling aqautic plant in front of her. "It's a traditional Sidonian art, very relaxing." Mina delicately scraped at one of the branches to demonstrate and gave a yelp as the plant violently thrashed sprayed rainbow colored ink all over the ceiling and her face.

"Oh yes, that's very relaxing," Aile snarked in between bouts of laughter. "You've got relaxation all over you, can't believe I missed it!"

"I-it's a difficult art to learn!" Mina said indignantly, rubbing the multicolored goop out of her eyes, her reddening cheeks hidden by the ink and her hands starting to shake as she attempted to towel herself off. "L-luckily the ink d-doesn't stick in fur...uhhh..."

"Least she's trying to find something to do," piped up the vixen Hellion curled up in the corner, crossing her legs as she perused a magazine. "And not whining obnoxiously about it." Aile merely sulked in response and turned towards the wall to avoid her unamused glare. Mina felt a towel pressed into her hands and quickly cleared her eyes to see the horned Hellion smiling helpfully at her.

"Th-thanks, Serago," Mina murmured, moving to towel off the ink from her hair.

"Not a problem. Luckily enough it does look like it's not drying on you," Serago commented. "If you need another towel I'm sure Aile can lend you one."

"If he's not too busy sulking," the vixen interjected, casually turning to a new page. "What has his tail in a knot anyway?"

"We're on shore leave for the next half-cycle, Kyrie," the larger Hellion revealed. "Deus is scaling back operations because of the uprisings in the Tan Metto system and the ongoing fighting over Betonamu, so they're cycling out PARAGON units for recuperation and repair work."

"That's good," Mina said brightly. "Some of my systems have been sluggish and the field repairs aren't cutting it anymore, it'll be good to get a tune-up."

"Hrm, yeah, I guess that is a plus, too," Aile grumbled to the wall. "We haven't exactly been fighting nonstop anymore, like we were a few years ago."

"Do you think that means we're winning?" Mina suggested, her tone brimming with hope.

"Don't jinx it darling, I'm sure we still have a long way to go," Kyrie chimed in, tossing her magazine aside and stretching before she got up and sashayed over. "Just enjoy the down time and get ready to fight again when the time comes."

"I agree, we should use this time wisely," Serago agreed, giving the lizard hiding in his bunk a pointed look.

At that moment, an alarm suddenly blared into life, causing all four Hellions to jump in shock.

"Aaaaagh, fuck!" Aile shouted, rubbing his snout from when he leapt up and smacked it on a top bunk. "What the hell is-"

"PARAGON-12 pilot report to Hanger 4 immediately!" Sounded a mechanical voice over the shrill sound of the alert. "PARAGON-12 pilot report to Hanger 4 immediately!"

Feeling the bottom drop out of her stomach, Mina didn't stop to wait, dashing past Serago and down the hall as the other three pilots tailed behind her. Bursting into the room, she found the base commander herself, tall, fishlike, and imposing as ever, standing over the diminutive scaly scientist working furiously at the console as other techs ran around. Looking out the control tower window, Mina spotted the imposing figure of PARAGON-12 standing silently at attention, hooked up with wires and piping to the surrounding hanger, seemingly unharmed.

"What's going on?" Mina said, too shaken to observe the proper protocol. "Is something wrong with Rude Buster?"

"That's the thing," the Commander said seriously, running a hand through her flowing red hair nervously. "We're not sure what's going on with it..."

"What do you mean you don't know!?" Aile shouted back.

"Something is tripping our sensors like crazy," the lead technician replied. "But we have no idea what, our sensors are all coming in blank and there's no reports of any unusual activity near us." She adjusted her glasses and spun around in her chair to look at the pilots. "All we know is that whatever's going on, it's targeting Rude Buster."

"It's not some kind of Deus superweapon, is it?" the Commander said dourly.

"I don't want to say impossible," the scientist replied. "But considering the closest Deus presence is in the nearest sector it's unlikely that they are doing...whatever it is they are doing..."

Mina ran past the commander and pressed her face to the glass, trying to get a better look, to see if anything stood out of the ordinary, and then something did...

"Ma'am, we're getting a massive energy spike from PARAGON-12!"

"Boost the dummy Vigor fields! Don't let whatever is in there into the PARAGON!"

Mina watched in horror as the air around the Rude Buster began to fizzle and turn blue, gradually at first but then engulfing the mech entirely. There was a flash of light, and the blue cleared, leaving a stunned silence in the control room.

"Rude Buster?" Mina said helplessly, turning to look at the others in the room. "What happened to Rude Bu-"

A flash of blue, and Mina suddenly had more to worry about then a vanishing PARAGON.

"Shit, they have a krogan down there. Hurry and get into position before AAAUGH!"

Talia jerked her head to the side to watch the flanking Blue Suns scatter, their team leader tenderized and flung off the balcony by the proximity mine. Rising from cover, she shouldered her rifle as the Blue Suns mercs shook off their confusion and spotted her.

"Weapons hot!"

A quick accurate burst of fire to one merc's chest dropped him like a rock before Talia ducked down behind cover again, the return fire from the Blue Suns scattering across the top of the metal crate she ducked behind. Waiting for the familiar pause, she swung back out to take another shot but quickly dropped down, a sharp pain striking her in the stomach. A cursory glance revealed a burn where a stray shot had hit her, but thankfully her bio shield ate most of the impact this time.

"Damn it, don't get lazy on me now," Taria thought to herself. "Focus..."

"Did we get her?" one of the Blue Suns asked aloud as Taria surveyed the environment, spotting the now empty case of her gear where she last left it.

"I thought the boss said these guys would be tough," came a triumphant response. Concentrating, Taria proved the boss right by throwing the case in the direction of the fire team, prompting panicked shouts from the Blue Suns as Taria popped out of cover again and took aim at another Blue Sun, who went down with a neat row of holes in the center of his forehead. Leaping over the barrier, Taria charged to a closer vantage point, sliding behind another sturdy barrier and firing a few shots in the team's direction. Counting down her ammo, she used her biotics right as her rifle went dry to fling a second Blue Sun down the catwalk and slamming him into the far wall, leaving a visible dent. Just three left now

"What the hell, did that come from her? I thought she was Turian!"

"You're joking right? A Turian with biotics?"

Capitalizing on the Blue Suns being rattled, Taria jumped back out and biotic charged into the closest merc, sending him sailing with an elbow strike and immediately recovering to grab the gun of a second merc, hurling it at the third to distract him before cracking the second alongside the head with her rifle, then dropping the gun and tackling the third merc, slamming him to the ground and disabling him with a blow to the head. Getting back to her feet, she walked by and nonchalantly levitated her rifle back to her arms, slamming in another clip.

"It's good to be back," Taria mused, rolling her shoulders as she braced herself for more. Spotting Galm making quick work of the fire teams he was facing, the Turian smiled, encouraged by the thought of fighting alongside one of her best friends, and took position on the balcony to lay down some covering fire for the fighters below, throwing a quick casual wave as one of them spotted her.
