I always miss the fun stuff and references. Now I'll be wondering what 2011 was referring to.

@Wintergrey I could have Troy interact with her in my next post.
Yep, but Redneck Barbecue still sounds pretty good.
I'm with Branch. Hopefully Legion can move us over there in his next post.
The entrance of Hiyato sensei should have been expected, but it honestly caught Arashi by surprise. He liked their childish sensei, but he didn't love him as much as most of the students did. He was more than a bit on the childish side, but that's kind of what made him cool. He was like them except he didn't grow out of his childlike tendencies. It was kind of a surprise to see him last this long in this world like that. He guessed he knew when to be serious and when not to. Maybe...

He listened as the teams got listed off. The first team would be led by an Akimichi. Hiyami was in this group and it seemed he didn't get paired with the students that he thought he would end up with. He wondered how he would deal with that. The teamwork with that team would be something to work on. The next team was one lead by an Uzumaki. That team seemed like a good one, but he wasn't on that one. He had to be in the next squad. Then came squad twelve which had some interesting squad members. Another squad that Arashi wasn't part of. The waiting game was getting harder the more the squads were announced.

Then it finally came to Squad Thirteen. The sound of that didn't sound all too great. Thirteen was known as a very unlucky number, but he wasn't all too superstitious. This team was different right off the bat. They were being led by a "special" man, whatever that meant, named Mitsunari Kohaku. He's never even heard of this guy before. What made him so special? Anyway. This team also had an extra member which was really weird. He wasn't even sure if it's ever been done before in the history of this village.

This was it. The squad members were being listed off. Mitsuhide of the Senju Clan was the first one announced. What was the second name that he called? Did he say Arashi Uchiha? He did, didn't he? He couldn't believe it. This team really was different. They consisted of four members and the first two were from the two main founding clans. What were the odds of that? Then Sadao of the Hatake clan was next. He heard of the clan, but didn't know much about Sadao. The final member announced was the Princess of the Hyƫga clan. This team... was awesome. Yeah getting along with Mitsuhide would be hard, but this helped his cause. He just had to convince Mitsuhide that the Uchiha clan wasn't horrible and then he could teach the rest of his family that.

He wasn't sure if Team 14 had the same sensei as they did. It wasn't really heard of, but he didn't car either way. He was a genin and his goals were now in reach. This was it. He sat in his chair restricted by his inner excitement. He looked around and noticed that Sadao had approached Shizuka. He was going to approach them since he noticed Mitsuhide talking to Hiyato sensei. He wondered what they were talking about. Maybe he was requesting a squad change because he didn't want to be in a squad with a Uchiha.

As he headed over to Sadao and Shizuka he stopped when he heard Mitsuhide calling them over towards the door. He didn't really like being whistled at like a dog, but maybe the reason he was rushing was because there was a specific time on the note and he didn't want to be late. He shrugged and glanced to the others before walking over to Mitsu.

"Where are we supposed to meet our sensei?" He asked. He was ready. He was telling himself that, but there was still part of him that was nervous.
@RumikoOhara Sweet. Go check out the OOC and join the party.
I don't mind. Soon we were going to end up taking over the IC.
@themadhatter420 That's okay. No need to strain yourself. Take your time.
Alex gave in to his inner temptations and decided to read the mind of his new friend or acquaintance. He still wasn't entirely sure what to call David. This mind reading step usually decided their potential. He just had to know what someone who was just they were talking to a telepath was thinking. The racing thoughts of David were more than funny. He didn't seem bothered by Alex's somewhat sick sense of humor and didn't really mind that he was a telepath. He just didn't know how to react to it. What made it even better was that David seemed to care about the impression that he left.

Alex nodded when David finally explained his powers. "Interesting. You're right though. I'm no scientist, but I'm not dumb either. I went to school and everything. Had tutors and the like. Which form is alpha and which is delta?" He was actually interested in the powers. He was a bit disappointed that David didn't have actual telekinesis like he originally thought, but the powers were cool nonetheless. "Oh and you don't have to worry about me always reading your mind. I can promise you that I won't read them without your permission. It's no big deal. It's just that I tend to get carried away sometimes."
Which member of the squad did Hiyato hand the note to?
Alex could tell that David was getting nervous without needing to read his mind. It was probably because of his last question. He guessed that he could play with him a bit. He was here to have fun as well as learn. "Oh right. I knew I was forgetting something. I have a passive ability to kill anyone I talk to for more than five minutes. I still don't get how it works. They just drop." He couldn't hold it together any longer. He started to burst into laughter and wiped away a laughter induced tear.

"I'm just messing with you. I'm a telepath and I also have this invisible aura around my body that provides me with strength and protects me from damage. You'd think it would have activated before I got this scar, but I'm not really a complainer. What can you do?" He wasn't nearly as worried about asking someone what they could do as David was. The guy seemed to be cool. He was like that almost nerdy best friend that people tended to have in High School and College. Maybe a Duff. He honestly wasn't even entirely sure what a "duff" was other than the explanation in the trailer. He thought the movie was pretty dumb so he decided not to watch it.

Right. His mind was wandering again. He needed to learn how to pay attention. He turned his attention back to David to listen.
