My sister saw me watching the Co-Optional Podcast and thought I was skyping my friends. How ridiculous! I don't have friends.

My sincerest thanks to everyone who has been involved over the past five months, but I think its time for me to lay this one to rest now. Santa Somabra has spawned some of my favourite Role Playing memories, and I couldn't have gotten this far without the superb writing of you all.

Good night, Sweet Prince.
I'm also still about!
Same story with me, might not have the time but interested. Thinking of something of a mix of Jack Churchill and Alexander Anderson or something very Redcoat-y.

Can I ask what does the isle look like right now in terms of Scotland and Ireland as well as how big religion is?

Sounds good.

What's left of Scotland and Ireland are off doing their own thing, but it is feasible for characters to have their origins there. Religion isn't very wide spread, but still exists in specific locations (cities with Cathedrals etc).

Interested. Don't know if I can commit the time, but interested.

I'll get back to you soon on that.

Sure thing. Thanks for expressing interest.

For King and Country !

War. War never changes. As the United States of America suffocated beneath a blanket of radiation and toxic fumes, so too was the rest of the world drowned in atomic inferno. The United Kingdom, a monarchy struggling amidst the harsh realities of a world drained of of its natural resources, fell to the same weapons of mass destruction that had ripped the rest of Planet Earth to tainted shreds, and became lost in the ensuing shroud of darkness.

Life, however, endured within the carcass of the island nation, skulking through the pale bones of the old world. The people of the UK rose from the ashes of the British Commonwealth, and set about rebuilding their shattered lives, amidst the nuclear devastation which had swept across the globe.

But what awaited the survivors in the barren wastes above was far more bloody and savage than anything they could’ve possibly imagined...Because war, war never changes.

OOC

King and Country takes place within the Fallout Universe, in the ruins of the United Kingdom. It is the year 2277, and the people of Britain have suffered through two centuries of vicious hardships, in order to make it to where they are today.

After the point of Divergence (Estimated to be around December 1946) The United Kingdom underwent a wave of right wing extremism, with british patriots hell bent on retaining what little of their once globe-spanning Empire remained. The constant threat of nuclear annihilation put the Western powers at odds with each other, and when the European Commonwealth invaded the Middle East, the United Nations collapsed entirely.

It wasn’t too long before the Commonwealth itself was dissolved, and Europe descended into a bitter civil war.

Striking an agreement with a subsidiary company of RobCo Industries, the Great British government set about developing vast underground ‘Havens’, not dissimilar to the United States Vault Shelters, in an attempt to protect the general public from the inevitability of nuclear devastation. Unbeknownst to most, the UK had become just as much a playground for mad scientists as the US, and was made subject to both twisted experiments within the underground Havens, and copious amounts of the Forced Evolutionary Virus.

The bombs fell, and the United Kingdom was destroyed.

Over the next few hundred years, the village of Silvershaw sprung up around in the husk of Haven 18, amidst the ruins of what had once been rural Surrey. Silvershaw has enjoyed a few years of relative peace, having established trade routes with the nearby town of Oking, but weeks have past, and there has been no word from the settlers in Oking.

Bringing together a group of Silvershaw’s strongest warriors and smartest minds, the Mayor of the town sends the fellowship off into the ruins of Oking, in an attempt to piece together what events have transpired.

So, any of you lovely lot interested?

Can I get names of those who are still interested in this? Also, if you're no longer interested can you let me know so I can recruit new players.

Thank-you

Still here
“The boy appeared in the square a few minutes ago, apparently there was trouble with his family’s caravan…”

Deminora considered that for a moment. The promise of a caravan was enticing, although it could be anything from a traveler’s wagon to part of a larger supply line. The vagueness of the aforementioned ‘trouble’ was unsettling to her, and she had no way of measuring just quite how perilous a situation she’d potentially be entering herself into.

“Indians attacked…”

“I’ve dealt with redskins in the past,” Philip grumbled over her shoulder “they ain’t got much by way of arms, but if you let them get the drop on you you’ll end up with a spear in ya neck and an axe in ya belly.”

“It looks like some folk are going to go out and see if there are any survivors. I suppose if you’re wishing to help you could bring back the bodies for a proper burial…I’ve got this young man well in hand. He’s not hurt just sun sick. Of course if you prefer you could come into the infirmary with me.”

The nurse then vanished into her office, leaving the odd-looking pair out in the sun-blasted square.

“What are we thinkin’?” the hired gun asked in his gruff voice, scratching away at the stubble on his chin.

“Depends on if it's worth the hassle or not.” Deminora gave a loose shrug, gazing blankly into nothingness.

“You have to realize that you’re risking life and limb here, Miss Corett.” Philip said firmly “There’s no two ways about it; when you go riding off into the wilderness you’re takin’ a gamble on your soul.”

Deminora whirled around, her billowy skirt fluttering around her ankles.

“If I bow my head and move on every time something dangerous comes around then we won’t be getting very far.” She tossed her head back, her auburn tresses tumbling down her shoulders “I’m gonna have to risk my hide at some point, Mister Taeorinn. Might as well start here.”

The young lady strode elegantly back over to where the rabble of townsfolk were gathered, her expensive shoes clattering against the ground.

“What are you planning to do, Miss?”

“I’m a Corett.” she declared boldly “the South is in my blood.”

A grey haired figure, with skin bewitched to a dark tan, was standing at the heart of the gathering, calling out to those who had the good grace to listen.

“Alright folks. Sounds like the boy’s family was hit by injuns. Apache most likely, maybe Comanche. I’m hopin’ to get some men together to go out and go see what happened. Any able-bodied men who’d be willin’ to volunteer, I’d appreciate it. Need men who can shoot and ride, and provide their own guns and horses.”

He was making his way across the square, probably to really up more support, when his eyes fell upon Deminora and Philip.

"You're welcome to come along, if you can handle a gun."

Then he vanished into a nearby Saloon.

“There’s our opportunity then, Mister Taeroinn.” Deminora gave an artfully sculpted smile “Let's go kill us some savages.”

Sterling and I are working on a conversation collaboration to try and make things flow easier. I was hoping @Kingfisher would post soon so we could see what his lady was going to do as she is still in the medical office irrc.

YOU'RE NOT MY SUPERVISOR!

I jest. I'll start working on something now.
I'm still up for some shenanigans on the red planet
@DJAtomika@Kingfisher@Themerlinhawk@rivaan

I know its not my place, I was just wondering if we need to get together and decide if we're going to keep going.

I was think that maybe we could post something in the interest thread. And have a "B" team fly in. Like second choices and meet us at the casino

I did put alot of effort into creating this universe, but I really don't know if I have the spare time to run another game right now. Even if its not for a while, this won't be the last you see of the Outlander setting though, and I'll be sure to let you all know when I start something up again.
