Constance moved up against Tony as he moved back to her side and leaned up against him. Elenore was an easy suspect, but she couldn't be alone. Constance doubted she strangled Miguel on her own, and Renee? Maybe. However it was hard to figure out who else would be involved if not Lawrence, but maybe it was all of them at this point. It would be easy enough for the family to be part of something like "The Most Dangerous Game" kind of situation. Invite a group of people to their private island and then take them out one by one. Constance shivered at that idea and bit her lip.
Ralph brought up everyone getting a note and Constance paused. "Ah, I didn't get a note. Only photos. And I burned them all. There was nothing written on them anyways. They... knew what the photos implied would be enough for me. Did everyone here get a note with their blackmail? Goodness. Someone was efficient in gathering their information then." Constance didn't feel bad for telling the truth about how she received her blackmail and how she had disposed of them. Sure, the photos had only been of significance to her, but their existence was still bad enough.
"If we suspect Elenore, then do we want to look at Richard since well... he is her husband? Maybe finding out that he had a secret daughter, or a daughter that well... could ruin many things might have scared them both? Or do we want to look at the children?"

Willow simply nodded at what the professor said. "My Tia said they made typewriters for braille, which I can read. So yes, if we can procure one, that would help with my notes immensely. I guess for today, I will ask my coven for help, and in the future, hopefully a machine can aid me." Willow really did hope that someone would be willing to help her with notes that day, but she realized her choice was going to be limited to Cal or Cassie, since Nicky seemed to be still... angry. Emotions were hard to tell through Luna sometimes, and she didn't wish to presume, or ask him how he was feeling. They had gotten close the night before but it wasn't the same as she had felt with Cal, or Cassie.
She watched as Nicky left and turned to the professor as he spoke. She nodded and then sighed a bit. "Divination is tricky, and cryptic. I do know that. Unfortunately it doesn't like to leave me alone. It bogs me down, quite often. I... I have visions that come to me even when I try not to have them. I even had one last night that I'm trying to untangle. It is... my price. That is what I was told by my Tia. I use my tools to try to clear it up, but it is not easy. I will probably go to the library, consult the runes and try to figure out where to go but..."
She pause for a moment. Dare she ask him about her vision from last night, either of them? Probably not. He had already warned her about divination. Those two she would have to untangle and figure out the meaning of probably on her own. Maybe someone would be willing to help, but she wasn't sure. "Thank you. I will see you later." She smiled before she gathered up her items and headed towards the library, after the others. She just hoped she wasn't too far behind.

Marco gave Em a kiss on the cheek once they got to the main hall and Dobbs pointed out where the kitchen was. It seemed that he was the only one headed that way for the moment, which he was fine with. It gave him some time to think about what he was going to make for the group as well as some time to calm down. Usually Emily was the hot head of the two of them, but some of the shit Dobbs had said had really pissed him off. Sure, Dobbs didn't know the truth, and he doubted Dobbs rightly cared, but it just pissed him off. It wasn't like he had decided to piss away his future. It was because someone decided that they didn't like the color of his skin, and being reminded of that just made Marco's blood boil every time. No one in the court system had wanted to listen to him, not even his own goddamn lawyer.
He took a deep breath and started to look around. He was going to make the best goddamn brunch to give them energy for cleaning up this old crusty camp. Then he'd also start prepping for lunch and dinner as well. Demi's comment about mac and cheese had given him a few ideas for lunch and dinner, and he suspected that making a bastardization of his grandma's gumbo wouldn't be amiss for them. They probably didn't have seafood but they had to have some kind of sausage, right?
He started to look around and pulled out cartons of eggs, packages of fresh bacon, as well as bread, and some puff pasty he found in the freezer. A quiche sounded perfect. He started digging around and noticed a limited number of fresh vegetables and sighed. He then went over to the freezer again and pulled out a package of frozen vegetables. It did make sense, this was a summer camp. They wouldn't really stock perishables like fruits and vegetables like that with the numbers they expected. He was lucky it was mostly frozen, rather than canned. The horrors of canned vegetable surprise that his father told him about made him gag.
He started up the oven, and lined several round dishes with the puffed pastry, and then started to whip up the egg filling, while separating out the bacon. The flat top would be perfect for cooking bacon and toast, as well as some plain eggs in case anyone was a picky eater. He wasn't sure about everyone's there food preference, so he would give them some choice. He did pause as he thought he heard his name, but brushed it off as he set about his work.

Willow ran her fingers over the notebook in her hands, letting her fingers trace over the letters as the awkwardness of Nicky and Professor Mikkail's encounter hung in the air. She did feel a bit awkward that she had no idea about the tome, and also the fact she wanted to do something to comfort Nicky even a little, even if she wasn't sure he'd want that at the moment. Things had been so much simpler the night before.
She watched as the chalk was started to move across the board, and both her and Luna were confused. This was not a language they knew, and in such a shaky way that it made Willow's head hurt a bit. She had Luna look away, as it was hurting them both at that point. She listened as the Professor spoke and thought to herself. How was something that the others attested was nothing but trouble could also be something that helped witches and warlocks?
She looked up as the chalk finished scratching across the board and when Luna looked up they saw the single word in English. Her brows furrowed under her veil, and she curled up more on the chair she was sitting in.
"I... could try asking the runes. Card are too tricky with a quandary like that. But research might be also a good place to start, though I don't know how much help I can be. Also is... there a way for me to take notes, like one of those typing machines? Writing is... not something that comes easy for me."
She saw that Cal was already standing, and could hear that Cassie was shifting, and guessed that she would want to follow him. She wasn't sure if she should follow along, or if she should just try to figure out her own way of note taking, and figuring out her vision from the night before and talking to the runes. There was also the other visions she had received the night before due to the candy she needed to sort through. She frowned a bit as she thought of those, especially of the voice demanding to be found. That worried her the most out of anything.
Constance was trying to pull herself together, trying to listen as the others came up with more rational theories and explanations. However, it was hard to fight with the irrational part of her mind, as well as trying to calm herself down as she was facing some of her own personal trauma for the second time that same day. To her, it still made sense. However, Tony and the others were probably correct. It was too easy to point the finger at Lawrence, and call it a day.
She started to take deep breaths, calming herself down even as she kept her back to Miguel. She heard Sam say that they should rebury him and her breathing faltered for a moment. The logic was sound, but to leave him there? In the cold ground while they continued to look around for more clues? It seemed so... cruel. Logical, but cruel.
"So... we follow the blackmail then. Do we know more about it than it was there when we arrived, and each of us had a piece of blackmail when we arrived? Or is that everything we know about it? Does anyone know what Renee or Miguel might have been blackmailed about?" Constance was still shuddering a bit and trying to calm herself down, but it was hard. What was their next move, besides reburying the poor body of Miguel? There was no way she was going to be revealing what they were blackmailing her about.
She realized that she had been clutching her hands tightly and finally let go of them, and felt the rivulets of blood running down her palm. She looked down to see that she had dug her nails in so deeply, and the hid her hands behind her back. No one had to see what she had done.
Marco was glad that he had decided to introduce himself to everyone, as it seemed to pick up the mood for a moment. But that was all it lasted it seemed. A moment. Aster had opened his mouth again and said something that was rather offending, especially towards the couples there.
As Dobbs told them that those going to the kitchen needed to follow him, he was thankful that Em was sticking with him for a little bit. Even if she was going off to learn the radio, which was pretty important. He looked over at Zeke as he spoke up and smiled a bit. "Might take you up on that offer, but I gotta see what's all there. I doubt we're eating gourmet, but I can still whip up something filling, and won't say no to another set of hands." Marco offered one of his gleaming smiles to the young man, and then nuzzled Em softly.
"If you want to share a cabin with Nancy or with me, I'll let you pick. At worst I can try to bunk with Aster and sneak out later." He whispered to Em and chuckled softly. As much as he wanted a whole week with Emily alone, he also didn't want to leave the other gal alone if her brother was going to bunk with his boyfriend (?). He and Em would find time, that he knew. It wasn't like they had been sneaking off to be together since secondary school anyways.
He looked over at Demi as he closed the distance, and remembered the hankies in the boy's pockets and chuckled a bit to himself. "Hot dogs in mac? You'll have to talk to Zeke about that I think."
Location: Professor Mikkail's Sitting Room Grimoire: N/A Skills: N/A
Willow had looked up as Nicky had entered the room and nodded her head to him softly. "Morning." She smiled softly as she watched him curl up in the other chair, and then watched as Cal entered the room and her grin brightened up more as he greeted her like that. "Good morning Cal~" Of course she had seen him not that long ago, but it was good he had still addressed her again. She had grown very fond of him and well after the previous night, who could blame her?
As Cal took the seat next to Cassie, she settled into the last armchair and relaxed a bit, turning the notebook over in her hand nervously. Writing was not a strong skill of hers. She had learned about braille recently, and was using that a lot for her note taking, and hoped that once the professor arrived she could ask him if they had access to such machines.
Professor Mikkail arrived with a burst of magic that she could feel, and see, since Luna's eyes nearly were overloaded by his arrival. His magic was warm, and she felt like she was safe there for the moment, much like she had last night. It made her wonder, but any thoughts were put on hold as the professor started to speak.
The smell of tea filled the air and Willow felt more relaxed at that point. She listened more as he spoke and then wrote the words upon the board. She could feel her brow twist with curiosity. Latin was not a language she knew well, just a handful of words there and then, but the first part, Mal, that meant bad, right?
Cassie spoke up, telling of the name before... stumbling. Willow could only watch with embarrassment as Cassie cleaned up the mess she had made and tried to clearly avoid Cal's lap. Willow did her best not to laugh at her new friend, (or she hoped they were friends,) embarrassment.
Then Nicky spoke up. The anger dripped from his words, and Willow felt pain for him. He had clearly suffered something due to this book, and it seemed that it was going to be a bad first day. Willow curled up in her chair, having no knowledge of the book, or its horrors. But it sounded like it had not been a good book for witches and yet, the Professor wanted to find the first volume of it? Why?
Her question about how she was going to take notes was forgotten, and she decided that was going to be a question she would ask him alone later.
Marco let out a soft sigh as Dobbs did inform them that there was food there for them. At least he could whip up something for them all when they got there. That might help them all. This hike was going badly, between Dobb's horror story, Aster being his usual glowing self and the others responding to the bait Aster was just setting. Seemed that Aster really hadn't been listening to Marco when he had said that bringing up the difference in status wasn't a way to win over people... but honestly, that was something Aster never seemed to care about.
Marco squeezed Em's hand back and leaned against her lovingly. He was sure that she was as irritated as he was, and he didn't want her to punch the one person leading them to camp. Of course as Dobbs spoke more, he got more irritated. Until he got what he thought was a brilliant idea.
He turned to the others in the group, his signature dazzling smile on his face. "Y'know, we never properly introduced ourselves to one another. If we are about to spend a week together, and sharing quarters we should at least swap names, right? I'm Marco, and this lovely lady with me is Emily. Once we get to the camp, I'll whip us all up a meal. I can't be the only hungry one, am I right?" He chuckled softly as he tried to pointedly ignore the fact that Dobbs was making things worse, and the others already probably hated Aster.
"I do agree that we should probably figure out sleeping arrangements. I'm guessing they're gonna be boy/ girl like most camps, right? Marco had never really been to camp when he was younger. There had never been money in the budget. Most of his summers were spent with Em and Mrs. Richardson while his dad worked. But he had seen it on tv, in the shows. Camps always had boy and girl cabins, right?
Constance turned to look at Tony as he held out his phone and showed them the message he had been sent. He hadn't mentioned that to her earlier. She was concerned, wanted to address that but then... that thud.
She could feel her chest tighten as she morbidly looked at the grave and saw what they had unveiled. Miguel. She grasped at her chest as her breathing became heavy, and her vision blurred. Why had she looked? Why? This... this was [i]worse[/] than Renee. Miguel was in a grave. She could feel the tears filling up in her eyes as she tried to compose herself.
"Lawrence. I.. it has to be Lawrence. He... he... he got mad at them both last night. Swore that they would pay. Now... here they are. I don't know if he's the one blackmailing us but... it only makes sense that he's the one that hurt them, right?" Constance tried to speak evenly, calmly, her usual perfect self. However, her current state was bleeding through, and there were many gaps between words as she spoke.
She could hear what Millicent was saying, but it didn't matter. She was back to being a little girl again, staring at the big box with her father in it once more. Only this time, her own life might be on the line as well. This weekend was suppose to be a vacation, and now was turning further into horror with ever step they took. Why had someone done this to them? Why was any of this happening?
Willow had fallen asleep at some point, curled up upon the couch while the others enjoyed one another, and while such her mind detached and wandered. Of course, this meant a vision.
The earthy and floral smell of the rainforest roused Willow to consciousness. The bedding she'd found herself in was instead moss and vines and snuggling creatures from the forest. The river nearby flowed sluggishly, deceptive in its calmness. The current beneath would drag a poor prepared swimmer to a water grave, if the fauna didn't get them first. Birds flitted in the early morning light and mist rolled through the forest, clinging like a spider web.
A shadow took shape in the mists. A hulking, pustulous shape stumbled forward. Several voices groaned from the mist, some cried, some begged, but all suffering. The stench of decaying flesh and festering wounds crawled like insects across the space. The light darkened and deepened into burnt gold and the river churned. Something mellowed in the distance, furious its prey escaped, but a strange pink, purple bubble drifted across Willow's vision.
The shape emerged from the mist. An eight foot tall human - or once human - stood out of place in the serene scene. Faces, all weeping sapphire blue fears, pressed out of its torso and legs and hands clung to nearly every surface. It was blind, its eyes missing, but the creature opened its mouth and an older man's face pressed forward out of the creature's throat. The other faces went silent but the tears did not stop.
Find us The man wheezed.
It was all it could say. A hand, as massive as a red wood tree, burst from the mist behind them and with talons as sharp as a hawk, circled its fingers into the faces and yanked back into the mist. The creatures screams, the agony, burned itself into Willow's mind.
The bubble popped.
She sat up at that point and looked around, panting heavily. Sometimes, she really hated having visions.
Callaghan had escorted Willow back to her dorm and she had thanked him with a kiss upon his cheek, before heading inside. She noticed that Connie was already gone, and sighed softly. It seemed that she was an early riser, much like Willow usually was, if she was not shaken by bad visions. Willow groaned a bit as she rubbed at her temples a bit, and Luna nuzzled her softly. She reached over and pet her familiar lovingly, thanking her for her comfort. So many visions in just the past twelve hours. She would need to take time with the cards and the runes to sort through them later.
Willow was a bit thankful that the dorm was empty, and went to shower and clean up. The warm water caressed her skin and perked her up a bit as it flowed down her skin, and brought her back to reality. Touch was always so important to her, and kept her grounded in the now, as visions really didn't usually reach out and have a feel to them. However there were always exceptions.
She got dressed and then got something light to eat, never having been much of a big eater even from an early age. Something about what she was, probably. She really never put much thought into it, and unless someone pointed that out to her, she would continue to never put much thought into it.
While she wanted to explore more of the academy, she doubted she wanted to do that all alone. Even with Luna being her eyes, the academy was still a new location to her, and unlike the beautiful forest where she knew every tree, every path and every stone she didn't yet know the pathways here yet. So, she decided to make her way to Professor Mikkail's sitting room for their first lesson.
Thankfully, it was easy to find the way, and once she entered the room, she could feel the warm embrace of the room. The scent of tea and cakes filled the air, and she could feel the warmth of the sun upon her skin from the open window. She looked around to see that Cassie was there and smiled brightly.
"Good morning Cassie. Where shall I sit?" Willow didn't want to presume that Cassie wanted her to sit next to her, considering that Cal was also one of their coven mates. She did bend over and pick up the journal with her name on it and ran her fingers over the embossed writing, hoping she would have a good way to write in it.
