Willow had an answer for what would hunt two witches, a dragon and a moth creature. Humans. Humans always loved to hunt and destroy what they did not understand, as she had found out first hand a few years ago. Of course those humans really hadn't survived that hunt, and she had learned a valuable lesson that day. However, she didn't vocalize that answer due to the pain shooting up and down from her shoulder.

She winced a bit as Nicky pressed his waistcoat into the edges of the wound, and then pressed her hands, putting pressure on the wound and nodded. "Mmhmm. Pressure. Got it." She could hear Luna fluttering around and let out a sigh. "I'll be fine, keep an eye on the others, Luna." She said softly, and wiggled her nose as she smelled something in the air. A spell, cast by Nicky, probably for protection. She leaned back into the couch as she opened her senses and focused.

If something was hunting them, maybe she could try to find them. However, her attention was snapped away as Barty and Connie entered the room, and she just nodded to them. As Barty spoke, the pain in her shoulder dulled, to a dull throb and she nodded. She dare not still remove the long sliver of mirror magic, not until the blood was fully stemmed, but until then, she could help from the couch.

She looked up at Cal as he knelt before her and nodded softly and offered him a small smile. "I will assist where I can. As for what happened... magic. Chaos magic and whatever is in that journal did not mix well." She sighed softly and then once again leaned back into the couch and expanded her senses, tapping into the flow of magic.

It had been sometime since she had attuned herself in such a way, since the forest. She had been warned since there was magic in the academy's veins it would be risky to open her senses this way, but it was worth risking it today. The first thing she sensed was the shard of magic in her own body, tinging with the magical signature of Cassie, but another energy as well. It did seem that she had been right in that guess, that the magics had not mixed well.

The second thing was that it was hard to sense herself and her covenmates. Possibly Nicky's spell. That might be a good thing. Luckily with Luna's help she could see them, but sensing magic from them? Nearly impossible. Cassie and Barty however? She could sense them.

The third thing? That was the thing that disturbed her the most. There was magical traces on the book were of Cal and Cassie, but Cassie's magic seemed to be coming from further away. "...There is something really wrong with that book. I would toss it to flames and then spread the ashes to the four winds." As she said that, it seemed like something about her shifted, as if she was preparing for something. She didn't like being hunted, so she was ready to become the hunter if needed for her new friends, and those she cared for.

Constance heard the clock chime six and frowned softly. An hour before the ball would begin, which meant that she needed to start getting ready. Hair, make up, getting dressed would take time as she had to dress to impress. She had not forgotten the main reason she was there, even with all the murder and intrigue around her. She was sure some of the others would want to talk about what they had learned, and also Tony had to check in on Agatha, so they were a bit pressed for time it seemed.

"Thank you, Jeanne. We'll let them know, and please, let us know if you find anything in the rooms. I wish you luck." Constance felt bad for lying to the woman, as she knew she would never find Miguel there, but she couldn't point her in the true direction of where he was. That would be too suspicious.

"I need to get ready, but I also know you wanted to check on Agatha. Do you wish me to join you? Or do you want to do that alone?" Constance looked to Tony and started to stand and smoothed her skirt.

Willow didn't feel great about hearing what Nicky and Cal had discovered when they had investigated the book. Eyes. Just like she had seen when she had investigated the book, but they hadn't heard the voices or the screaming. Maybe... maybe that woman. The one she kept seeing being burned. Could that be the entity in the journal? Willow had seen her twice now, she had to be connected in some way.

She looked back over to the blackboard and let Luna look back over the words once more and shook her head. She truly had no answer for them there, and dared not look deep into them, not with her egg this morning. She already was going to have to cleanse herself once, who knew what else she was going to have to do if she delved too deep.

"Do we still not have an idea of the language yet? Or are we still stuck with no translation and no clues beyond it being there to almost taunt us?" Willow sighed as she and Luna looked it over more, before turning Nicky.

Right as she was about to answer him, Cassie spilled her magic out and into the journal. She watched as the journal was taking and taking from her friend and gasped as she realized that this wasn't going to end well, but before anyone else could stop her...

The shattering of glass filled her room and Willow could hear the pieces whizzing around.

She stood there, still stunned as the sound of dripping continued, with her unsure of what to do as she slumped onto the couch a bit. She knew better than to try to remove it. "Ah... what... what an inopportune time to be the hunted, dear Cal." She finally muttered out, clearly in a bit of shock.

Constance watched as well as Jeanne reacted to what Tony had to say. However, she didn't seem that surprised by the information. Perhaps Sam had already informed her of much that happened with Miguel earlier when he had sat and conversed with her. She did note the worry lines in Jeanne's brow, and got the feeling that no matter what else happened, Jeanne truly had no idea what happened to Miguel. There was at least possibly one La Lune that was innocent in that death. Did that make her innocent in Renee's? Not necessarily. There was still no proof that only one person had done both.

Constance kept her emotions to herself as she waited for Jeanne to respond to Tony's question about the off-limit spots, though she they already knew the answer. Miguel was in the cemetery, waiting to be discovered again.

She mentally shook that thought off as she sat there, and thought. What else would they wish to discuss with Jeanne then and for how much longer? Tony had made that promise to George to check on Agatha, and it was probably wise to do that sooner rather than later. She was sure that Sam would wish to catch up with them soon, unless he had attached himself to another group and was currently swapping information with them. That might have also been wise, since he had talked to Jeanne first.

Constance did hope by going to check on Agatha they could get some more access to the manor and she could possibly look around a bit. Sure, she wasn't the stealthiest, but she did know she could be quiet when she wanted to be.

Willow had hastily put on her headdress when Connie had returned, and filled her in on the evenings endeavors. She was a bit sad to hear that the head and the headless body were of their missing roommate, Pancho, but at the moment Willow did not have the time to dwell on it. Yes, the academy's mysteries were building and swelling, but she had enough on her plate as it was. She did ask Connie for her help with her egg task and Connie thankfully consented to helping. Shortly after that Cal brought her some tea, and she found she enjoyed it immensely. She bid goodnight to Cal before he left and then curled back up and went back to sleep.

The next morning left Willow with more worries. Before Connie had left she had cracked the egg and they had found it rotten, smelling up their dorm room. She had tossed it out quickly, but remember that Professor Zephyrine said she would need to bath in water exposed to the full moon. She would have to do that later after the coven meeting, and probably talk to Cal about it.

She put on her one and only outfit, and brushed it off softly, and then went to head to Professor Mikkail's office. She would have to do laundry soon, but that was another thing that was getting pushed to the background. She walked into the office and waved to her covenmates as Luna fluttered around her. "Good morning!"

She listened as Cal spoke and frowned, her head tilting a bit. "What did you two see?" She was of mixed feelings, since it seemed that the journal was effecting more than just herself. She really didn't want to have to look again, but at that point it seemed that the journal might not be readable by any of them. What had the professor sent them after?

"Oh, Cal, can I talk to you later?" Willow didn't want to explain about the egg to Cassie and Nick, but she knew that she needed to tell him soon.

Marco sighed at that, and looked at Emily. She was right, he probably should go back to work as well, as much as he really didn't want to. The cooking part was fine, he enjoyed that, the cleaning part? Not so much, as he was finding way too much had plastic rot, unidentified junk, and just was gross. Too many years of neglect had left much to be desired with some of the other things around the kitchen.

He watched as Em got changed, and smiled as he was reminded of how lucky he was to have her in his life as his friend and lover. He knew she probably was hating have to put back on those dirty cloths, but it didn't make sense to change and get them all dirty. He walked over and then rubbed her back softly. "You gonna go back to cleaning? I'll miss you, and see you at dinner." He kissed her on the cheek, waved to Aster and then set off.

He headed back to the main hall, thinking of what to make for dinner, and what else he would clean before tomorrow. He really hoped that Dobbs would come through on those nicer ingredients. He wasn't sure he could keep trying to make Aster eat hot dogs. He really did hope that this week would be kind, and that he could figure out what he could do once the kids got there.

Constance smiled as Jeanne said they could sit, and took the seat with Tony. She hoped that some of the questions they had for her weren’t some of the same that Sam had already asked, but… they had already sought her out, and here they were. ”Thank you so much, I do hope we’re not intruding too much.”

“Oh not at all. Just wasting the time.” Jeanne sighs. “Nothing so interesting as what you all are up to with the celebration and Renee.”

Constance had to be thankful that Jeanne brought her up first, as she was one of the topics that Jeanne had mentioned before. ”Yeah, so sad about Renee. I wish I could have gotten to know her better as her suitemate, but… it’s unfortunate. And from what I understand those stairs seem to have something of a bad history around them, hmm?”

Jeanne winces a little at the mention of history. “Yeah, my grandfather, though I suppose I should say great grandfather died falling down on them. That's Elenore's father. He didn't found the winery. Technically his parents did, but he is the one who made it prosperous.”

”I’m sorry for bringing it up, loss is never easy. Did you know him at all?” Constance knew she was fishing and might not get an answer she was looking for but that was always the risk.

“Oh yeah, he only died like five years ago. I'm not that young.” She smiled. “He was a tough old man though. He loved us kids, but he had high expectations. Not that Eleanor's are any less.”

So not young, but older. There were plenty of questions Constance wanted to ask but figured some of them would be in poor taste. So, she offered her a small smile, and nodded. ”Eleanor seems to run a very tight ship in that sense, huh? I’m used to high expectations and tight schedules, but this event? Down to the minute yesterday? Was that all her?”

“The whole event is Eleanor. She does everything like that. The only reason she doesn’t on the second day is it is traditionally a relaxing day. That is how Grandfather Vorace did it. And she wants to cleave to as much tradition as possible.”

”Is this the same grandfather that we were discussing before?” Constance’s curiosity was a bit peaked at that.

“Yeah, Vorace. He’s Eleanore’s father.”

”Ah, thank you.” It seemed that maybe the award was cursed, given that the founder had suffered the fate first that had just befallen Renee. She decided to let Tony take over for a bit, let her thoughts settle.

Marco chuckled a bit more at Em's response to Aster's comment about the lake. He nuzzled her happily as she leaned into his embrace and then kissed the top of her head. He then chuckled more as she said they weren't needed to fight Bigfoot. "As long as the Ogopogo doesn't come out as well... then I think we're good." He chuckled more as he looked at Em and then listened softly.

"Mmm I'll help you come get out of those wet cloths my love~" He purred into her ear and then went to head to the cabins. He hoped that Aster would follow them, as it would seem that Zeke was going into overprotective brother mode. He couldn't blame him, but maybe it was too much. But, who was he to say? He didn't have siblings.

Marco sighed softly as they headed toward the trails where they had heard the cries coming from and sighed a bit. He really hoped everything was alright, and that no one was truly hurt too much that they had to be shipped away from the camp. He crossed paths with Dobbs with Em as they talked together and then looked up at him and nodded at Em's words. "Yeah, he is pretty straight forward. Not sure how I feel about him entirely, but he's going to be getting us nicer food."

As they walked up, he paused at Em's joke, and snorted for a moment. It was pretty funny, but considering what he had been talking about with Dobbs earlier, maybe he wasn't sure that he wanted to talk about sacrifice. He took a deep breath at that point, and then relaxed, as he tugged Em in close and nuzzled her. He was glad that it seemed that Nancy was alright, but if he had to guess it was one of the seizure they had mentioned before. She seemed to be fine now, but... it was ominous.

"Aster, if you're that worried about the water, then you probably should miss out on swimming. It's a lake, not a tended to pool. But I will say, I got a lovely view in the lake~" Marco chuckled as he held his girlfriend close.

Marco had been admiring Em as she swam, thinking to himself how lucky he was that she was in his life. Em was that steady presence in his life that reminded him that things were going to be alright, and even if this summer was going to be shitty, she was right there with him. However, his thoughts were intruded upon by the sound of Demi screaming for Zeke. Had something happened. He tensed up and looked in the direction the screaming came from right as Em came out of the water and kissed him on the forehead.

"Uh... no. I think I just heard Demi screaming for Zeke... and not in the fun way. I think something bad happened. I think we should go check it out." Marco stood up and offered Em his shirt, and pulled the towel tight around her to help her dry off. "I think it was that way." He pointed into the forest, in the direction the screaming had come from.
