Well, we can always assume that any family naming oddities could come from a family that has roots outside of any given nation but has been living there for a time. And since the British have a love hate relationship with the French, she probably could have a foreigner parent that chose to give her a foreign sounding name.

It's not that hard to come up with a number of explanations for this, I think.

Fufufu...
@KoL

Trying to outdo me, huh.

More like trying to not get left behind by posts coming faster than Speed-o'-Sound Sonic.

But if I do that as well in the process, it's a bonus, I guess.
I wasn't planning to post anything before Wednesday or so, but since people ahead so fast (doing collabs while at that) I suppose that not posting would have been more harmful.

If I don't post anything else until the weekend just consider that Minami is picking the Zone 5 clean, unless something unexpected happens to her.

“And a nice day to you too!” Minami shouted in a cheery voice dripping with sarcasm after being summarily by the person she was speaking to ignored once the (absolutely not exaggerated) signal blared.

The cat girl’s eyes were narrowed in a dangerous way when came back to the other group that she had been roped into. “Ok, I’m feeling great now,” she said in the same tone as before. “Actually, I have a nice idea. Why don’t we exchange contacts before going and use them to, erm… coordinate the rescue efforts? No one said that we can’t do that, after all,” she said pulling out her phone.

Whether the other agreed with her idea or not, Minami would grab Houki’s hand (After all, the idea was to go in pairs, right?) and make a run for the test site. She chose the central area to begin searching for two reasons that the Fast and Furious team seemed to ignore. First, it was closer than the other ones so they could take back any victims far faster like this. And second, during a disaster, you are much more likely to find victims at the place where everything began, which is very much likely the central block in this case.

Thanks to the (absolutely not overdone) screams of the victims it would be piece of cake for Minami to find them, without even using her nose. From there onwards, it was just a matter of teaming up with her current partner to get as many of them back to the safe zone as they could, while avoiding trying to use Minami’s senses to avoid, or in the worst case scenario, ambush any nearby villains.

[moving into area 5 and searching for victims]

You'll be launching another post before we go? Or can we dab on Luna's corpse immediately?

We are not going to have other skip now. At least while the collabs are still going.

As she was walking through the snowy streets, Yui was walking a bit faster than her usual. That is to say, in her life up until now it had been hard to have, and keep, friends of her age. That is why she was more than just a little excited at the thought of having a Karaoke party with the other light magical girls.

The sound of bells ringing announced the arrival of the magical girl at the bar. Taking off her winter ear covers, she could ear the very faint sound of other customers in the place. After removing the snow from under her boots, storing them away and putting on a clean pair of Uwabaki Yui walked up to the counter. Soon enough, she was first arrived in the reserved room. Yui put down a box of cookies she had cooked for the occasion on the small table, and quietly sat down on the couch waiting for her friends to arrive. On her knees rested a letter of which she could not keep her eyes off of.

After fumbling around for quite some time, Alara finally made it into the reserved room for all of the light magical girls. She was quite anxious tonight as, being a mute, singing wasn't her forte. But she dared not ruin the festivites for everyone else. Of course, it was truely nice to get to be there with everyone else; but she kept an idea to excuse herself for a night on the town if things didn't go well. Surely there were still nightmares to tend to even on tonight of all nights. She didn't have much in the way to actually contribute to the party itself, but she was going to at least pick up the drink tab should they order anything durring their stay. It was the least she could do.

One girl had already arrived, waiting inside with a letter on her lap. Rather than to force a conversation, Alara quickly smiled and waved. Sitting next to the girl taking her by the hand for a friendly shake. A buisnesscard handed over introducing herself with her full name and a friendly greeting.

Yui was lost in thoughts, but she startled a bit and looked up as soon as the door opened. She gave a warm smile at Alara. They had met during this week, but had no opportunity to truly get to know one another. Putting the letter on the table, Yui refused the business card.

"No need." she said, as she also motioned the word in Sign language. "A child at my orphanage was deaf, so I learned sign language so that we could talk. I can understand you!" she said warmly.

"Oh, you guys are here already?" Luna said as she came back into their room, after taking a short trip to the lobby and paying for their expenses during the whole night. "I wasn't expecting anyone so early. But that's not an issue, you can go ahead and get started while I, erm... deal with something," she said while taking intermittent glances at her watch.

"Oh and, please reserve something classic for me, I'm feeling like tonight will be really a blast!" Luna had a faint, bittersweet smile in her face as she spoke, almost as if she were anticipating something that would relieve her mind of some invisible burden. "By the way, thank you. I'm sorry to have troubled you for the last few days, Yui. I really appreciate that you are worried about me, but everything will be alright after tonight, trust me. And to show how thankful I'm, I'll make your training from tomorrow onwards. You'd better get ready to take responsibility for what you have done, girl!" She added after getting close enough and laying a hand on Yui's shoulder while flashing her legitimate beaming grin, to show that the other girl's efforts hadn't gone unnoticed or unappreciated.

"Anyway, I have to get going for a while, but I'll be back as soon as I'm done my business. And, if I'm lucky enough, I may even bring someone else along with me!" She added in an excited voice while practically storming her way out of the room.

Maybe miracles could really happen on Christmas, after all. Or so, Luna thought as she skipped steps in the snowy streets towards an unknown destination...

Minami couldn’t help but catch up what the monochrome girl said under her breath. One of the disadvantages of having good ears was to listen to stuff that others weren’t supposed to, and sometimes, things that she didn’t want to listen to.

“Don’t be like that, nyah,” she said, approaching the other girl. “I got what you were saying, but since we have no instructions to follow, isn’t it better to look at things from the bright side? It’s not like I’m planning on giving up on giving up my points to anyone, but why not help someone else when you know that you can get enough on your own, nyaight?”

“If you want something more interesting, we can make it a competition to see who can get more points. What’cha think?” Minami said, lowering down to the other girl’s level and extending her hand. “By the way, don’tcha think that you are giving too much eye candy to the boys from this angle?” she added in a whispering voice so that only the other girl could hear her while stealthly looking at Monochrome's rear.

“Ah, the show is already over? I wasn’t even done with my vocal exercises yet,” Elizabeth complained as the battle came to an abrupt end. It didn’t look like she was particularly shocked by the widespread destruction of the battlefield. Once you have seen a Holy Grail War or two, it’s hard to be impressed by many things, after all.

Instead of concentrating in the aftermath, the pink-haired Lancer drifted to midget Emperor’s side so fast that it looked like she had a temporary boost to her Agility. “Hey, hey, Sab— I mean, Caster!” Elizabeth called out, poking the other Servant’s shoulder. “Why— I mean, how did you do that? You may not remember it, but there’s no way that I would ever be able to forget that sword or that theater of yours. If only we could get you to the Moon, or find that Little Squirrel, I’m sure that you would remember everything as well,” she said while hugging Caster once again.

On the other side of the ravaged battlefield, Atalanta mauled at the icy trap, trying to free herself from it when she noticed the approach of the white-haired Archer. She bared her fangs aggressively once the other girl aimed towards her, reaching for Tauropolos to shoot back. Before she could do so, the other Servant shot the ice, releasing Atalanta.

“Grrr!” the Berserker growled like a wild beast, taking a step away from the other Servant while lowering her own bow just like the other woman.

“I’ve no means to know what was that beast, however, I can tell that it’s of divine nature,” Atalanta replied once she assured herself that the other Archer wasn’t an immediate threat. “I can only imagine that I was summoned here because of it. But I only answered it to protect the future of all children. If thou art here for this cause, I can tell thou everything that I know. But first, show me thy Master if thou hast one.”

After making her request, Atalanta got back to her feet. The boar pelt that covered her dissolved back into the ether that composed all Servants, leaving a much more sensible dress in its place as she waited for Archer to lead the way back.
