No offense intended. But there's a sweet spot on the sliding scale of realism, and most of the interest checks I usually see skew too far to the realism end for me.

Can't describe how quickly I go from excited to sad when a mecha premise turns out to be realism wankery.

We ended with antiderivatives in my AP Calc AB class. Started with limits, which were used as connector by way of Limit Definition of Derivatives to introduce Derivatives, and from there to Antiderivatives.

With a million and one small sections nested inside those three large headings.
Yeah all that stuff Mokuren has is finished derivatives

And speaking as someone who is staring at an AP Calc BC textbook right now...

Starting out with derivatives is fun fun fun XD

Integrals and antiderivatives are not fun. Much U Substitution.
I'm just going to go back to quietly steeling myself for another year of Calc, a semester of Statistics, a semester of Linear Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Computational Logic, and Physics.

Almost none of which will actually be needed once I graduate high school.

Especially not on a day to day basis.

It's rooted in my soul.

That joke was way too derivative. It's the most basic, integral line in Calculus humor.
Crimmy, that joke was way too radical.
As a side note, since it was relevant in my last post, putting named in bold font is a practice carried over from another site for use in crowded scenes. Just a way of making sure names (which sometimes get buried in a single post, let alone several) don't get missed.
Ben acknowledged the tap on his shoulder with a slight nod, eyes locking onto Sapphire after her little temper tantrum. BASL's usually laid back leader was alert, his gaze was sharp, and he was not smiling. He leaned forward in his chair, clearing his throat by means of preamble, and directing his focus towards her.

"Hey, Gemstone." He pointed with an unusual choice of finger to get her attention, and kept it there once he knew he had it. Insulting people for no reason, whether it got under their skin or not, was not something he was going to tolerate. "Lay off. No one wants to deal with your salty little tirade. We get it, you've got a chip the size of the damn continent on your shoulder. Doesn't mean we want to listen to it. So kindly be quiet."

He turned to face Luke and Shiro, facing his shoulder towards Sapphire as a clear dismissal of whatever she had to say, and gave a wide, friendly smile. The proffered hand was, ironically, the one previously used to hit Lauren repeatedly in the face. Its purpose was much kinder now. "You're Shiro, right? Great to meet you. I was just talking to Luke about your match. I'm Ben, from Bastille. This is my team. Bunch of jokers, honestly, but they all mean well."

Ben took the paper and pencil from Luke, passing it along to the next person in line.
"Have a little faith, Negasi. I've done the basics. And I'll make an effort to do the homework." Ben commented, leaning back further in his seat and resting his bag against his chair. Hypocritical as it was, he really wanted to sleep... Temperature was nice, the background noise was pleasant and he was tired. And then he forced himself to open his eyes all the way, shaking his head slowly."

"Be really nice if this lesson was somehow louder, though."
