Of course. I want a day off, and that's when everyone decides they can't figure out how to do their jobs.

To all my partners, I apologize. I have a splitting migraine and my idiot neighbors aren't helping.

Hello! I'm Kymera, so nice to meet you! Hopefully reading this won't bore you to tears.
Little bit about me: I've been roleplaying for close to 10 years now and ran a forum of my own for 6 of them. I enjoy a more gritty RP where very few things "turn out alright in the end". That's not to say I don't like happy endings, but I enjoy bittersweet ones more. I feel I RP better the more I get to know people and their characters, so if you're willing to put up with me for that long, I like to think I make a good partner in crime!
Offline, I'm an avid LARPer and gamer, so I do my best to avoid reality at every turn. I do like to write, probably more than is healthy, and currently have two stories in progress.
Beyond that, most of my hobbies revolve around LARPing. I camp frequently, I enjoy leatherworking and various styles of armor making, and generally am a bit of an oddball.
I have a general love (read:obsession) of science, and it tends to come through in odd ways when I write.
@Phoenix Working on a post now, but I do want to clarify that the interaction in the Marketplace happened between a couple of random people, yeah? Or did it actually involve my character? I'm good with either, I just wanted to make sure!
@Phoenix I can work out a post if I need to, so I'm not dependant on anyone at the moment (though it is more fun with others involved). I have talked with @DepressedSoviet and I think we're gonna work something out.
I don't see any issues with it. My favorite thing about it, are the route difficulties. I don't know if this would have any sort of impact at all, but I feel like for some of the more difficult to traverse routes, there would be some manner of age or skill restriction? Like, you wouldn't find a 10 year old out on a Lvl 5 route, would you?
@Phoenix Ohhhhhh, now I follow you! Hmmmmm... That's a tough one. Here's my first thoughts:
I’d want to do a blind gym leader. Think about it! The communication, both verbal and nonverbal, between trainer and Pokémon would have to be phenomenal. They’d have this deep understanding of Pokémon, almost on an instinctual level and would have trained themselves and their team accordingly.
So this isn’t exactly along the lines of a traditional “type” gym leader, but being blind I think they’d be using Pokémon specifically for sensory deprivation. (Ie, sight, smell, sound) and have their attacks specifically designed to hamper at least one at a time, perhaps more as the battle continued on with lingering arena effects (Thinking of you, sandstorm). The idea being that with one sense gone, trainers would then have to rely on others (just as the gym leader does). More than that, even as trainers work their way through defeating the gym leader’s Pokémon, as each of their weaknesses is made up via another’s strengths.
And of course, she’d be set up in the Desert on route 111. I think the badge would look almost like an eye of sorts.
The battles themselves would be double or triple battles (Thinking along the lines of a blind person and a guide dog working together).
The leader would judge based off of teamwork and adaptability. Teamwork being the trainer’s ability to understand strong Pokémon may very well share the same weaknesses, and their ability to compensate for that. And adaptability being how they address the unfamiliar adversity, and being suddenly robbed of a key sense.

This is more or less following the badge system you had set up, with the twist of the battles being either double or triple battles.
*Distressed whine* @Phoenix So I'm missing a couple brain cells at the moment, thanks to my good friend Mike and a couple of his hard lemonades. Therefore, you're going to have to help me out with the question you're referring to.
I like the idea of anything that adds to character complexity. I may think on it and see if there's subtle things I can add to Rai's speech patterns that'll reflect some localization.
@Phoenix(Sorry, took me a moment to figure out what you meant) I really like the idea, though I'm curious as to how it would be pulled off. Are we talking about certain colloquialisms, or something more visual like bold/italicized/underlined text?
@Phoenix I'm the kind of psychotic who could drop dead with joy at several posts a day, but again, I recognize I'm crazy. There's very few people with schedules able to accommodate that, so I'm fine with a post a week.
I was more or less curious just so I had a better understanding of what to expect.
Super sorry if this is a stupid question, but I was reading through some of the OOC thread just to make sure I'm caught up on everything and I saw something briefly mentioned about post frequency? What is, roughly, the goal we're aiming for on that?
Mainly because I don't want to seem like an excitable, yippy dog everything someone posts. ^_^
