Alright and the polls are in. I must confess I wished a few more people had participated but we work with what we've got.

@Lugubrious Loved your entree. Though the prompt only actually called for you to convert Remnant into a medieval setting you went beyond that by merging it with Arthurian Legend. A very amusing piece to be sure. Those nods to Monty Pyton's Holy Grail did not go unappreciated. Though I'm curious as to why you didn't make use of Tristan, Iseult, or Percival I still found it to be a very enjoyable read which I wouldn't have minded going on for a bit longer then it did. Props to you for including Sir Beowulf's departure as an IC event :).

@KabenSaal While I'm grateful that you chose to participate given the lack of interest in this contest I feel that you didn't put a particular amount of effort into your entree. Firstly, the idea was for you to reimagine Remnant as a medieval setting while I will say there were components of that in your story all of them were either copied from Lugubrious' entree or from Monty Python leading me to think that you didn't put any of your own creativity into the project. The other requirement the prompt included was that the King of Vale was holding a tournament to decide who would become his personal guard and join him on a crusade. There were absolutely no traces of this event in your entree. It wouldn't have been difficult to alter it so that the battle with the Black Beast of Argh was a challenge to the tournament which sort of leads me to believe you didn't read the prompt at all. Lastly both your fight with the Black Knight and your Black Beast of Argh were almost directly copied word for word from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. While instead of having the animator die you made it allergic to herring was amusing I would suggest you try to spice things up a bit in future if you are trying to do a parody.

@Crimmy You're was truly an interesting read. The only bad thing I can really say about it would be that I do not believe the word "fuck" was used in common practice in the middle ages. Past that you're participation in the tournament, your fight with Napoli and your ending were all very well done. I especially liked your mentions of God and the Lord during your battle as he would have been considered a source of strength for knights during the medieval times and your specific and hostile mention that Napoli was a bastard as that would have been a big deal and a source of disgrace for the family. Over all well done.

Now to announce the winner. With so few participants this is likely very predictable but in first place for Two Credits with his Arthurian retelling of Remnant is... Lugubrious. And second place for One Credit with an entree filled with bloodlust and cheese lovers is... Crimmy. Collect your prizes on Conference Doc.

I would post another contest but mine don't seem to be extremely popular with the masses. I will attempt to think of something that garners more interest for next time. Lugubrious I believe the next one is in your court unless someone else had an idea.
The Artifact: (What items are so dangerous to possess that someone wouldn't dare speak of them to authority?) a collar once used for human enslavement by a maniacal mage of days now past. The heroes who defeated the madman were able to damage the collar, but not fully destroy it, and the collar is a central thematic piece of the legends surrounding the madman, and is demonized along with him.

Not a bad idea but this also has to be the magic that damages the binding spell on the main characters powers. While a slave crown (to quote Final Fantasy XI) would be both an interesting idea to toy with and something to be kept out of the king's hands I don't see how it would be able to do damage to another kind of enchantment.
Hey guys, not really relevant to the RP but I wanted to ask for some help brainstorming for a short story I'm writing.

Alright, firstly the main character has really awesome magical powers. Too awesome in fact. She was born with such extraordinary powers they would consume her if they were ever fully unleashed. To protect her her parents sealed her powers away within a partition in her soul. Now the story starts when she's about fourteen. She encounters an ancient ruin a couple miles from her village and the local kids dare her to go in. She does and finds some sort of magical artifact inside. She touches it and whatever it is damages the binding magic holding her powers. She gets super magical abilities and when the towns people find out she is reported to the royal guard and taken to the palace cause in this world all mages belong to the crown. As the story goes on and she uses more of her powers they grow stronger and the binding magic weakens then we have to deal with the issue of when if fails completely she will violently explode. Now what I need help with is what exactly was that artifact in the ruins. It needs to be something dangerous that she won't tell the king about but past that I'm at a lost.

On another note I could use help with naming some of my characters.

Here they are:
  • A dragonlord who is capable of taking human form. He is special among the dragons in that he can summons wild blue flames that are hot enough to melt dragon scales.
  • The king of Brendol where our hero grew up. His leadership owns mages and trains then into fearsome warriors or else they die in training. It is not a fate to be envied.
  • The hero's foster father. A book binder and something of an expert in magic. After her contact with the artifact he bound her a grimoire to try and contain her abilities.
  • The prince of the land, a man of mischievous intent and not nearly as cruel as his father.
  • The Arch Mage of the realm. An older man who commands powerful magics. He is not malicious but is not above causing incredibly pain or pushing someone beyond there limits to gain knowledge. The hero's teacher at the castle.
  • An ice mage who is partnered with the hero. Though an honorable fighter is completely devoted to the king. At some point the hero betrays him.
  • A young girl with fire magic that the hero is sent to apprehend in the name of the king. Remind the hero of how she once was.

Any of these you could help with would be amazingly helpful. I've sort of hit an impass.

I'm in no good shape to think of anything, the one idea I had wasn't exactly fitting to what you're looking for

If it's a good enough story then losing a couple of the rules won't matter to me as long as it follows the spirit of the contest.
Alright just to confirm. Is anyone working on another entree for the contest cause if they are I could give you another couple of days. If no one else is interested I'll go ahead and judge it.
@Xan the G Hey, sorry I've been so absent from the collab but I've posted now.

@Lugubrious Hey so I'm super OOD and I was wondering if you could add Burthstones character to the character tab roster. Also I came up with a last name for Syrena, it's Sinclair. So if you could update that as well it would be much appreciated.
I'm trying. D:

I'm getting on an 11 hour flight in like 20 minutes though.

International flights such as that usually have wifi.
Indubitably. Boss fight time guys! THE WHEEL OF FATE IS TURNING! FATE CONSPIRED TO ARRANGE THEIR BATTLE! HEAVEN OR HELL!

If I cannot move Heaven I will raise Hell.

Also if we're talking about Soul Caliber I liked the one where you could play as Link and bludgeon people with the Cane of Byrna.
Watch Detective Conan. Just make sure to skip the filler episodes cause they are really really silly.
Me and Xan are working on it. I've got to run Syrena plus two others who weren't mine in the first place so it's been a bit tricky figuring out how to write them. We'll get through it soonish.
Come on guys, I don't want to have to judge another contest where all I decide is who gets one credit and who gets two. Give me something to work with here.
