"If you kill a man, you scorn his wife. If you kill his wife, you scorn her child. If you kill her child, you scorn his village. If you kill his village, you scorn the kingdom. If you kill the kingdom you scorn an empire. If you kill an empire, then who is left?"

As the Fireen spoke, Dunnaman had scrambled himself atop the base of his ship with some effort. So far, accidentally, he had done a pretty good job of concealing his abilities. This might be far more good fortune and luck than he could even begin to speculate.

After destroying his own ship, Fury was left in check and so were the Angar Ryllans. It was a stupid move but sometimes it takes an idiot to do a genius's job. His eyes narrowed slightly as that thought ran through his head. It didn't seem like that was wholly accurate, seemed kinda self-depreciative.

What was Fury talking about? Oh, right his memories. What exactly did he remember? Dunnaman's face turned stern for a moment as he tried to recollect the only moments predating his awakening. It was like a dream that you struggle to remember after waking, the whole thing was hazy and confusing. "Wahl, thah fehrst thehng ah rahmembahr ehs one word. One word ehs ahll ah rahmembahr, an' ehts ehn a language nahbodeh ah've met so far spehks."

"Thaht word ehs," For a moment he had to think, the word was like a fart in the wind. Barely detectable, but it was there. "Eht was- Was. . ." For the first time, he dropped the accent. It was different than before, his accent dropped and his voice took on an accent all too familiar to Fury. The one word would strike like a bolt of lightning, "Itaroknos." For just the one word, he spoke in his old native tongue. The language he no longer spoke in favor of a more universal tongue. It was the closest translation of Fury into Pundambayan. "Ehy trahnslahts ter Rahg and Ahgoneh." (I realize Rahg and Ahgoneh might be harder to read than anything so far, it means Rage and Agony.)

"Thaht ahn ah flahsh ehf blue lahght. S'wehl ahs ah burnahn pahn ehn mah chest." For a moment he went silent as he began undoing the right fasten on his chestplate. After undoing the fasten he unzipped the undersuit and revealed the seven pointed star burnt into his chest over his heart. In the spot where Fury had planted his energy bolt in Kanitah. The finishing blow in their battle that had rocked a world for what seemed like hours.

After zipping back up and resetting his armor blate, after the fasten clicked back into place he returned to his story. He told of waking up on a train and meeting a woman whose pistol blew him into space where he lost consciousness again. He told of how he awoke on a planet in an intensive care unit.

"Ehn thar Ah awoke ter seh mah powahs dehvahlop." For a moment his eyes went blank, thinking about what would have happened if they hadn't helped him. Thinking about how he had no control over it. "Ahll tha machehnehreh got dahstroyed. Eht tehrned teh lahght and sucked entah mah chest. Through tha scar yah saw, ah accehdentahlleh devoured theh room. Eht was hahrifahyen."

He paused for a moment and placed his hand over his chest, remember what plans they had tried just to keep him from destroying everything. "Eht took a wahl but theh dehd eht, but yehr wrong about one thehng. Eht weren't a weapon aht fehrst. That were mah decehsion." The mace was raised upwards towards the sunlight, it glistened through the mostly transparent mass of the weapon. "Aht fehrst theh trahd ter ehmplant eht, but ah suggested eht be held aloft. Ehn a connehcted wah, but not part of mah bodeh."

Dunnaman's reasoning for why he wanted it seperate were wholly unclear, even to himself. Maybe it was subconsciously symbollic of his temporary connection to this life. "Theh helped meh ter overcahm mah ordahl ahn ehvehn gahve meh a shehp ter fahnd mah plahce ehn thehs lahf."

For another moment he was in silent thought, fully taking in exactly what has happened to him during this ordeal. He glossed over the name of their race and the encounter with the Angar Ryllans for obvious reasons. "Ahnd now ahm hehr wehth you. Tehllahn you mah lahf stahry, dehspaht tha brehvehty." With his story done, he waited for Fury's response. Thankful that he had waited until the conclusion.
@Skallagrim
I've got the patience to wait out your vacation, so it's aight. Need to come up with a setting and character anyway.

HEY YOU @Doc Doctor I'LL FIGHT YOU WITH KNIGHTS AND SHIT

:V

Again I still need to come up with a character.
@Divinity
I realized this fight was just going to be stuck in the same three seconds for the next five or so posts. And I wasn't willing to argue the physics of magic, I concede the fight.

Basically this.

@Rilla
Could you award Divinity a victory for me?
In mid air as his entire structure was demolished, Shin severed the connection with his staff directly. Leaving only the component surrounding himself as method to maintain his position in the air, he folded his legs and raised his left hand. The reduction of his mass allowed him to drift slowly downwards, he had resigned himself after the failure of his offense.

Magic was not his strong suit, and he was pretty certain he'd avoid fighting another mage without proper preparations next time. Shin only spoke two words as he drifted downwards. "I concede." With his pride hurt, and his offense broken, this fight was lost. Even with his love of combat and bloodshed, there was no reason to continue a lost fight.

Whether or not his opponent struck him down before he touched the ground, this fight was over for Shin.
@mrspectrum
You didn't put much thought into this roleplay, my friend. Being vague about setting, theming, power level, and the like never work out.
It can strike opponents who are on entirely separate planes of existence, as long as they are in the same "place". It can strike liquid and gas as well as it can solids, there is nothing immune to its strike.

nothing

Yes, indeed, her spell was fired off inside of the gap. Just as her sword breached and Shin had bodily vaulted away from her sword's menace. It blasted out in a wide arc and struck itself against the walls of Shin's barrier and blew out the other side like a beam of electricity. A semi-tangible stream of bright blue light erupted from his barrier's porthole. In that moment, in that single moment, he realized something. Something that the both of them should have noticed from the start. Shin, with his knowledge of his own weapon, and the learned knowledge of Crystalle. For the first time since the fight had started, Shin's eye showed genuine confusion and sudden realization in two quick eye motions.

The realization hurt more than anything so far.NOTHING ESCAPES THE TOUCH OF THE BLACK STAFF! The assassin screamed to himself inside of his mind, imagine the loudest scream you can. Yeah now imagine it a thousand fold, that's about how loud he was screaming at himself.

In all their motions, Shin hadn't even noticed just how little he had utilized this ability. The staff was fully capable of deflecting objects of any property, even if they were on another plane of existence. No form of matter or energy was immune to this effect, Shin had always subconsciously avoided making contact with gaseous and fluid materials. Obviously it makes moving the staff around feel natural, he had so little use for the ability that he often forgot he even had it. It was not just a normal forgetful 'oops' either, it was something that came up so rarely that it had been shelved like a bottle of whiskey.

An ethereal blast of energy existed on the ethereal plane, it may as well have been as hard as steel itself when it made contact. Everything on the ethereal plane was energy, and the staff can make contact with anything. Regardless of the plane of existence. The energy ricocheted off the inside of his barrier and ejected violently out the other side. Anything that it made direct contact with was incinerated, and let me tell you something. That hurts, any idiot who says that emotional pain is the greatest has clearly never felt one's soul get the equivalent of a brand. Even as he was put outside of the line of fire and out of immediate danger. Shin was lashed with what felt like a thousand whips from all directions, coupled with the busted up state of his body, this was not a happy day for Shincoco.

Aside from the fact that his offense was not only unaffected by the spell, but still in progress. Corban had even less time to escape, as well as pull her hand out of the line of fire for his Goblin Shark bite.
@Divinity
It's not a little ace.

It's the single anti-magic property the staff has, shelved as a normal ability.

It's the ability I gave the staff so he could actually fight against mages.

This is the first fight against a mage he's had WITH the staff in writing.

Forgive me.
@Divinity
You don't understand.

I am very sorry that I forgot this.

I am also very sorry for what it's going to do.

Believe me, I was not holding this out.

I made the realization a little while earlier.

I am humiliated, because I forgot the properties of my own weapon.
God damn I'm both tired and unable to sleep. I'm gonna hate myself at work today. I'm really trying to make sure this post is articulated properly so you really understand just how stupid I was for not actually using this ability prior.
