“I’m David. David Flechters. I’m sorry I get distracted too sometimes. Then again, it’s my first day here.” He said while looking around. When the student fainted at the auditorium he was shocked for a second. Someone fainted on the first day already!? Another is carrying around a baseball bat like it’s nothing. And…Is that a four armed lizard man? David thought to himself, losing focus. He shook his head quickly. “Quite a lot of strange mutations. Talking about mutations, what can you do?” he asked Alex. David could be impulsive. Only now did he realize that directly asking about someone’s mutation could be very rude. What if their mutation is like carrying diseases or being a walking nuclear reactor!? Oh god, way to go David. Insulting someone on your first day! He thought. He kept a smile on his face, but you could easily see he was tensioning up.
Mining Corporation with own security forces. The NHU has been around for quite some time. Only recently they have arrived on Mars yet have built one of the greatest mines of Mars yet. It is currently aiming to become the top mining corporation on Mars and supplying all major companies there. Maybe even expand outwards. With Earth on the brink of collapsing and war breaking out again, the NHU has a lot of opportunities supplying arms manufacturing companies.
Leadership
Mr. Johnathan DeLaLune. A pragmatic and business oriented man. He often appears energetic and charismatic. Though he can also make some tough decisions when it comes to numbers. He aims for the most profit possible without upsetting chairholders or other outside forces like green-thinking terrorists. Though his methods in the past have looked ‘liberal’ in the past and he’s not always as ethical as most. Never the les, Mr. DeLaLune gets things done.
Commander Philip La Fontaine. Much like Mr. DeLaLune, he has French roots though was born in space. The Commander has fought many battles, often on the winning side. He was part of several Mercenary corps. Though eventually he was caught by SKYGUARD and imprisoned. It was Mr. DeLaLune that bought his freedom. In return, La Fontaine now leads the NHU security forces.
Dr. Isabelle Maison. A lady at 36 years old. She studied and later worked at a great university that was sponsored by SKYGUARD. She has a Ph.D. In Applied- and Theoretical Physics. And a bachelor degree in Geography. She has also been a very long friend of Mr. DeLaLuna, who recruited her just before the attack on the Marshalls.
Orthodoxy
"Profit above all else." Mr. DeLaLune demands profit from everything. But he's not an idiot. He's not using his labour force like slaves. Instead he believes that happy workers make good and fast working workers. However, he keeps a rutheless security force around just in case things go wrong. The company recently went to a change of top. Mr. DeLaLune took over from the previous CEO at the age of 32. Now at 38, he is by far the strongest leader NHU had in the last century. Under his rule he has replaced the older heads of department with younger, more open minded people. Like Miss Maison and Mr. La Fontaine.

Security Forces
Primary Units The Main Security forces. Light equipped and armored. These troops act like a police force among the New Horizon Employees. Most often than not they will prefer to use their batons to subdue troublemakers, as killing without real reason looks very bad on their report. They might be able to take up an uprising of civilians. But in the face of a full scale attack they are severally disadvantaged.
These forces are often found in Destiny's Descend. Patrolling the subterrainian streets and arresting trouble makers. So in the 'city' about 40 of these troops walk the halways with 5 officers in command.
About 20 of these troops also guard Dig Site Alpha. With 2 officers at all times.
Secondary Units Exo-suits. Large, cumbersome suits worn by the elite of the Security Force. These hulk-like exo-suits were made to fend off stronger enemies. They are often individually hired from existing mercenary companies or military organizations. Exo-suit units wield powerful gauss-rifles designed to punch through flesh as well as light armor (like an anti-vehicle rifle).
There are 2 squads of each 6 Exo-Suit troops. One squad is always positioned at Dig Site Alpha. The squads change shift every 24 earth hours. The squad off duty can still be used as a rapid response team. Special Units None yet Civilians As NHU is a corporation. It employs a wide variety of civilians. Ranging from Technicians checking on the Mining Drones to Scientists in R&D. By far the most numerous, Civilians under New Horizon United are not allowed to carry any weapon of sorts. Not even a knife.

Destiny’s Descend G3 New Horizon’s population center. A few, small bio-domes are scattered over the landscape, acting like parks. Many buildings surround these parks, and depending on certain features you can see who uses those buildings. Tall, big towers with big windows are often for the working class sitting on their desks and sipping coffee. Low but wide buildings are for Orbital Transports who fly up into orbit and back selling processed metal and ore and come back with necessary equipment. Then you got the foundries. Not as high as the office buildings, nor as wide as an Orbital Landing Strip. These buildings are marked by high reaching chimneys. Blow tons of smoke into the atmosphere. Those are the foundries.
Dig Site Alpha F2 Be it pure luck or a calculated guess, when New Horizon established its first Dig Site it immediately struck gold. Almost in a literal sense of the word. Silver, iron, gold, copper, silicates and other value-able resources were unearth. Dig Site Alpha has both underground mines and open-pit mines. Where massive Bucket-Wheel Excavators are currently eating away from the ground. Large Hauler trucks drive up and down the pits back to Destiny’s Descend.

David was already a little late. He blamed public transport for it. But in reality, he just left home too late, missed his train and had to take a later one. So he walked in the Auditorium with his bag in hand and backpack. In the Auditorium, he sat through the entire speech, which seemed rather short. Then again, David did dislike long speeches. Though right before he left he saw the vice-headmistress scolding a girl with blue hair. Though what David saw first was the fact that she wielded a baseball bat.
Paying too much attention at the baseball bat, David accidentally bumped into Alex. “Oh I’m sorry. I didn’t see you there.” He quickly said. But he did drop his bag. Though it never touched the ground. Instead there was some strange black aura around it. David’s particles in Delta-form. He just assumed it was a minor discharge and grabbed the bag.
Question about the Holdings. So i'll probably have one starbase all the way out in the astroid belt but is it already allowed to say that you have a camp on Mars as a Holding? Or should factions that originally don't start out on Mars do something before they can descend towards the surface?

Faction Type: Mining Corporation with own security forces. The NHU has been around for quite some time but has always laid low in the far off asteroid belt. Where it has built a rather big space station that is completely self-sufficient and provides mining infrastructure like big a foundry and refinery. It always had a small personal security force. As they knew that it wasn’t possible to count on SkyGuard. But since Mr. DeLaLune came in charge, he has been greatly expanding the security arm. Now he has his eyes set on Mars. Aiming to unearth whatever minerals and treasures one might find there.

Name: David Fletchers Alias: None, considering he hasn’t really done anything special yet. Though he plans to call himself: Astral. Though he’s still thinking it over. Age: 18 Gender: Male Sexuality: Heterosexual Appearance: (Quite honestly i'm still working on this but i was hoping someone could already take a look at the 'Powers' and 'Bio' to see if that's okay) Powers: Cosmic powers. The cosmos is filled with harmful radiation. Humans have already many identified such as gamma rays and ultra-violet light. However, some remain a mystery to humanity. Waves that alter other wave’s their amplitude or wave-length. Thus a whole cluster of unidentified waves still exist. Often discarded by scientists as ‘background noise’ while for a matter of fact, these kinds of waves originate from a cousin of the proton. A massless particle with as many mysteries themselves like protons. However, they have a lot more energy in them than protons. David calls that stage of the particles the ‘Alpha’ form. For normal humans (it is entirely possible for mutants with enhanced vision to see these particles) the particles are invisible. However, if you’d ask David how it looks, he’d tell you that it looks like they make a purple aurora in the sky at night.
David’s skin seems to function both as absorber and container of these particles. His nerves also seems remarkable attuned to this strange particle. At thought he can use it to fire a concentrated beam or orb of the particle. While in a normal state, like you’d find in the universe, this particle does not interact with any matter what so ever. Though somehow when David uses it, it does interact. Most often it superheats its surroundings, effectively creating plasma. He calls this state of the particles the ‘beta’ form. In the beta form the heat makes the light surrounding the particles red.
Just recently David discovered that these particles have a third ‘form’. In which they act as negative-gravitons. Thus negating gravity. However it has only worked on small objects like a tennis ball for so far. He calls this state of the particles the ‘delta’ form. Delta form particles often consume light for some odd reason. Making it as if the particles themselves look pretty dark.
His powers are most certainly useful, but they come at a cost. For one, the particles are easily absorbed by most metals. Which means that if he remains inside, even if there are windows, his particles will not replenish. In other words. If he uses his particles too much inside, he might end up exhausted of them. A second drawback is discharges. Even a bucket can overflow with water and the same goes for David. If there is a big build-up of these particles, they will be forced out. Often in either delta form or beta form.
Bio: His mutant powers have only been manifesting themselves since he was 15. At first it was just his vision that was altered. High in the sky he saw the beautiful purple aurora. He wasn’t an insomniac or something, but he’d try to watch the sky passed midnight at least once a week since he could see the enchanting beauty.
About a year and a half after he discovered the aurora, his first discharge happened. The day started normal, except that he woke with a little headache. But David, as a 17 year old teenage boy, thought nothing of it. Throughout the hot day the headache got worse and worse. Until at PE. It was soccer and David seemed strangely energized. Until of course, he burned a goal down. Right before he wanted to take a shot at the goal, his vision blurred and blackened. The next thing he knew he found himself on a scorched patch of grass with a very burned smell coming from somewhere. Classmates would later tell him that it seemed as if the ball had a trail of red plasma. The goal keeper was able to jump away and didn’t get hurt. But the net caught fired and melted, together with the grass he was standing on.
At first David was discouraged. Even afraid. He heard a lot about the politicians with their Mutation Registration Act and feared that his class would see him as a monster. Though in the next few weeks, they didn’t treat him super different. Sure they often asked how he had done it, but he wasn’t bullied for it. This gave David the confidence to experiment with what he had. Soon he discovered that he could somehow launch red hot plasma at will. Much to the dislike of his mother, who had to buy new china.
His discovery of the delta form was also accidental, and most likely triggered by a discharge. One particular morning he woke with literally everything that wasn’t bolted to the floor peacefully floating around him. Of course until he noticed that it was floating. His desk and drawer crashed into the ground immediately. Around this moment his mother had enough and decided that it was time for him to learn how to use what he had. So she send him off to the Grinder. Hoping for the best for him.
