Now, if there is anybody better at theology than me, please speak up, because the theological divides make very little sense to me and I don't understand why anybody could ever have cared. Oh, my, I'm ready to cast aside my Byzantine Republic Idea for this.

Repping tentative interest here.
What is the breadth of the RP, for starters? Are we talking the Balkans/Anatolia/the Caucasus/the Middle East/Mediterranean? How far is the reach?
I'd definitely be interested in playing a Persian state, Caliphate, or even a khaganate of some sort, perhaps the Khazars on the precipice of utter dissolution, or the Cumans.
From Libson to the Urals to the edge of Persia. Basically, no India or Siberia, but places close to that...
