Devon looked up at Nasir's shoulders and attempted to reassure the flustered girl with a smile. "Hey, don't worry Celes. Talking directly to Pokémon isn't everything. I'm sure if you just get out there and meet a few of em, you'll have a bunch of new buddies in no time."

His gaze then lowered a bit to meet Nasir's. The Trainer reaching behind him to pat his backpack a bit with a grin. "And by the way, I'll do another Contest with you Fuzzy. Anything that'll make you happy. Besides, who else has a matching Zoroark style outfit on standby besides me?"

Standing up from the ground and jiggling around the contents of his back pack, Devon strolled past Nasir on the way down the road and poked him while snickering a bit. "You have no where you're going don't you? C'mon, we passed it not too far into town." The rest of the teen's Pokémon then joined the group as they made their way towards the mart.

Lilisette's voice brought the Totodile's attention back to her. A frown on Devon's features as he leaned in close to the Kirlia and whispered in her ear. "I heard what you said. We can talk about it later when we're alone."

The duo of Pokémon that greeted Devon and his new friends outside of the grotto were...Odd. However that didn't dissuade him from attempting to make a bit of conversation with the Riolu and Togetic. Crossing his arms, the Totodile looked at the offered berry, taking note of the large bit marks already on the fruit, and shook his head. Forcing the rumbling in his stomach to keep silent for the time being. "Nah, I'm good. Lance and Mirfah right? I'm Devon." Putting a clawed hand on his chest, he then let his arms drop to his sides. A friendly smile on his blue maw as he rocked a bit on his heels. "If you need help finding your way downtown, we were just about to head back there ourselves. Wanna come with? I bet Ember or Selena could lead the way or uh..." Looking back behind his shoulder at the two middle stage mon, the reptile shrugged. "Or if ya want me to try my hand at it, I could try finding the way back. I think I remember the path we took up here...."

It seemed like everyone was running for it. The attacks of the many bugs had turned unrelenting, all of them focusing their efforts on attempting to hit any of the children with their special attacks. Desperately, Devon's head twisted around at every angle in attempts to find some sort of escape route. The weakness in their ranks that he had blasted at earlier seemed to be filling in fast. The unconscious waterlogged Spinarak being pushed aside by a few Galvantula. His only exit was slipping away fast. Now or never...We all gotta get out of here.

Taking a sharp breath and jumping back out of the way of a rogue Poison Sting, the Totodile landed on his back and tilted his head up to look back to see who was still in the thick of the battle. Notably, Celty. Who seemed to be just waiting around near a hole in the ground for some reason. Scrambling to his feet and hopping around a bit, the panicking croc called out. "Celty! Come on! We gotta go! We already got Krissy! We can kick these bugs butts lat-ERAAAH!"

A horrible pain unlike anything the former human had felt before thrashed around inside of his body as yellow streaks danced around it. A Thundershock fired off by one of the Galvantula had made its mark, and Devon was feeling it's super effects. Crashing down onto his side, the Water-type writhed in agony on the meadow floor and clamped his eyes shut as he let out breathless groans. It hurts....Really bad....I-It still feels like I'm being hit by it....I can't think....We gotta move...

Slowly opening his blurry eyes once more and running them through the chaos, it gave him time to think as he brought his claws to the earth to struggle to push himself back up. ...Why did these guys even do it?...Kidnap a random kid from the village.....What were they expecting to get from this besides a bunch of angry Pokémon on their asses? A low growl seeped out of his throat as his pained expression twisted into one of [Rage]. Did they want money? Was this for ransom? Some sort of pathetic revenge plot that they wanted to take out, on a kid!? A random attack that really didn't have a reason!?....Oh ho. No no. They're not gonna do this....If they wanna fight so bad- A hostile red glow glossed over Devon's deep brown irises as a sharp toothed grin spread across his maw.

I'll give them one.

With the moves influence causing his mind to go nub to the pain racking his body, the Totodile snarled and threw himself into the wall of arachnids around him. Tackling, biting, and slashing at any enemy that was unlucky enough to cross his line of sight.

Letho the Sableye

Rubbing his chin a bit, Letho gave a slow nod. His body still merged with the door. "Oh yeah, that Gren kid. Seems decent enough. Always got alot of determination. Hopefully it'll be more exciting than my last job...Ugh, a grouchy old Breloom wanted me to go find this gross moss for em deep in the trunk. I'll spare ya the details." Pulling his face out of the large wood rectangle, the Sableye held it open for the Umbreon as they both proceeded to walk down the hall towards the lobby stairs.

When reminded to keep his guard up, the Darkness Pokémon gave a dismissive wave. "Yeah yeah I know. Alot of shit going down in Folio town baby. Some Gardevoir jumping folks in the Trunk, the Guild Master calling for high security, and something about some Totodile kid we gotta find? What's so special about him? I mean, I like kids as much as the next guy, but if we gotta babysit a pair of razor sharp teeth with legs, I'll let the other guys take care of it." He finished with a shrug as the pair went out the front door of the guild.

"....And could someone please come to my study and accompany Karaha on his way to the Trunk? Thank you, that is all."

Strolling back to his desk in the same formal manor that he had previously, Glyph paused for a moment before turning his head to watch the Umbreon leave through the door. His antennae drooping as the heaviness of the situation began to sink in. "...These are dark times. Please be safe Karaha. I already have one fallen friend to look after, I do not want to have another."

Letho the Sableye

Slowly before the blue ringed Umbreon, the wood double doors pushed themselves open. The source of the movement? A short purple imp-like creature with eyes that gleamed like polished gemstones. The Sableye sporting a small messenger bag around it's shoulder strolled into the room and held out it's arms with a wide grin. Letting the two other mon in the room get a good look at the golden oak tree shaped badge clipped to the Darkness Pokémon's shoulder strap. "Yo! I heard there was an Umbreon in need of an escort? I'm your guy for the job!"

Glyph had sat back down at his desk, and was in the process of sorting through a stack of papers when Letho caused his head to turn up from the notes with a warm smile. "Ah yes, hello Letho. Your assistance would be most appreciated." Nodding at the two, he dug around in a drawer to pull a bottle of ink and place it on the desktop. "Good luck you two."

With a goofy sort of bow to Karaha, Letho spun around and exited the door in a flash. A mere moment later the imp's head came through the open door way. Tapping his wrist in a hurried manor. "C'mon! Whadda ya standing around looking mopey for Karaha? Don't you wanna hurry and go uh..." The Sableye's arms went slack. "...Do whatever you're doing in the Trunk? Don't tell me it's something lame like collecting moss!"

Devon looked between the two concerned Pokémon was a somewhat disturbed frown. "Actually, you guys may be on to something there. I was attacked while I was down there. Some crazy Gardevoir girl with weird black wings. I dunno what her deal was, but she said something about me and her not being able to be friends, and then she tried to kill me with a bunch of Magical Leaves. Luckily some Umbreon from town, Karaha, saved me at the last minute."

Standing up from the statue he was leaning against, the Totodile gave Ember and Selena a determined nod. "If these Guild dudes can keep me safe from that psycho, then I'm all for it. Lead the way guys!"

[Folio Town - Outskirts]

Then, two new voices sounded off that echoed through the outskirts of the town. Poking his snout out of the foliage that hid the entrance to the small cave-like shrine, Devon spotted the two owners of the voices as they ran towards him. Blinking, he stepped out of the grotto completely and waved them down. "Hiya! Do you guys need something or?"

Devon broke the hug with Lilisette smiling, and leaned against the small statue of the Time Travel Pokémon as Ember and Selena quested where escaped he and the Kirlia had came from. A somewhat curious expression came over the Totodile's face when Ember mentioned a Magikarp of all things climbing the trunk, but Lilisette's story made him even more so. "Dude, you just poked a rock and and it teleported you all the way to another continent? Well, that's probably on the same level of weird as the way I got here too."

Looking over at Selena and Ember, the reptile tilted his head and shrugged. "I just kinda just....Woke up here. In Folio's Trunk actually. I don't know where I came from either. My heads totally blank except for a few things that I guess don't matter too much? I dunno."

Devon sat and listened as the two newbie Trainers as they both explained what they wanted to do on their journeys. When Lily mentioned her interest in Contests, the brown eyed teen looked over and smiled. "Yeah, Contests are great. You really gotta love the spotlight though." His cheeks grew a little red as he averted his gaze. "You wanna know something stupid? I absolutely hate crowds, yet I managed to do that full Contest with Nasir. And I'm still, freaked out by big groups. I don't get it."

When asked about what his goal was in the Viore region, Devon winked at Brent and grinned. "I'm really that easy huh? Yeah, I was planning on hitting a few Gyms while I'm here. See the sights, might also do another Contest if Fuzzy over there is up for it."

The same lab assistant that had given everyone their Pokédexs reappeared in the doorway, causing Devon's head to turn back and look over his shoulder. "Oh uh, thanks but, I'm already stocked up. A few Great Balls, Super Potions, basic stuff." Looking back to the rest of the group he shrugged. "I'm also ready to go whenever you guys are."
