I like how two of the species of apes is named Troglodytes. My friends have ruined that name for me because we use it as an insult. It's not even insulting, it just sounds insulting >XD

Yup go ahead! I will say though that the first post is probably going to be delayed as I have some IRL things happening. Expect my first post to be somewhere between now and next next Sunday. School's starting up again and I may not have as much time as I did when I wrote this.
I'm still trying to work out magic in this. So do I just have dozen or so mages? Casually slinging fireballs or whatnot from horseback. Are people generally restricted to one kind of magic?
People aren't restricted to one type of magic. However, They'd be more powerful if they did. It's a tradeoff between versatility and raw power.

How are dragons and other mythical creatures here in this world. I could see dragons as being expensive and hard to breed making them something rare and even reserved for the best of the best.
They're rare, unintelligent, and have been nearly hunted into extinction for their valuable scales and bones.
