Sorry about my lack of appearances. At this point Im taking a much needed hiatus from here after 5 long years. Not sure when I'll be back, but it won't be for awhile... sorry about that... : (

Once upon a time, I used to cheer for May the 4th... now I cry with disappointment. *Except Clone Wars S7 and the Mandalorian - they are awesome*
@ZAVAZggg The Egyptian God of Chaos. Horus is not gonna like him lol
Also you're the first to actually claim an outpost for a non-gm monster. And for someone of his caliber, it's best that he's in there.
He's surprisingly balanced for someone of such toxic nature - although now that I see him in nature, I do believe his height ought to be a bit smaller. He can easily swallow a large kaiju whole if he's actually that big.
I say to make his height smaller. You can keep the length and wingspan, but maybe him maybe... say 50 - 60 Meters tall. Still big width wise but not too big. Hell, if he's gonna go the extra snake similarities, he could even split his jaw to swallow larger pray. It'll definitely take effort, but again, not to the point where he could swallow creatures in one pass. Again, he makes up with his length - think of the chinese dragon kaiju Manda from the Godzilla series.
Other then that, make his history and I think he'll be ready to go.
I was thinking she might be 😅 I kinda have a bit of a tendency to make underpowered characters (I know - weird problem lol). Do you think if I just gave her more powerful, more long-range abilities I could keep her confined to Loch Ness? I quite like the idea of her being stuck there just chillin' till the humans come and are like 'WAIT! I RECKON NESSIE'S REAL!'
Depends on what abilities you want Nessie to have. Show me what you have in mind and we'll go from there.
@Lmpkio Okies - got some ability ideas that might power Nessy up a bit
- Sensory projection - can project sensations onto both humans and Kaiju, regardless of where they are in the world, so long as she knows what they look like. Although only one individual at a time. (so like, she could make someone think they're drowning, or on fire, or nice things too :) )
- Memory projection - Can make an individual, human or Kaiju, experience a memory or imagined scene, wherever they are in the world.
- Remote viewing - can spy on both humans and kaiju, wherever they are in the world
Any good?
- Sensory projection is an interesting trait. The way you describe it sounds about balanced compared to Nessie's current abilities.
- Memory projection reminds me of a fan audio-drama - revolving around an ancient "hologram" that could unleash surreal simulations of certain past events. However your version is probably better in Nessie's case. If you're interested in what the audio drama is, click the link below:
An anti-hero huh? Nice! Most of the human characters I'd want would revolve around the good guys as involved with TERRA - or be that they start out neutral and then get on TERRA's radar.
There will also be some bad people too. However, I'd like if you refrain from making those characters for the moment.
I think I have an idea for a human character now. Is it acceptable to have a cultist type who worships the kaiju as gods?
This also goes for you - if said cultist is going to be antagonistic.
Looks cool! It's very traditionally based on what's described in myths and texts, but such monsters don't need to be exactly as they are told. Again, creative liberties can be taken if you want. Like, for example, the ancient people may mistake the tail for being a snake, but rather it's say a scorpion tail or something cool. Or combine the traits into one animal but with only one head and body that invokes all three traits of the lion, goat, and serpent.
Again, this is my idea if I wanted to go about utilizing the Chimera, but if you feel like really wanting the pic you're showing, then go for it! Just throwing it out there, you don't need to follow what I said - it's only an idea for a more "naturalistic" approach. :)
@Lmpkio Would these sizes for my creature, who's concept I've changed, be appropriate? Or are they too much?
{700 feet long, 350 feet tall/wide, with a wingspan of 1,050 feet.}
So basically:
213 Meters long | 106 Meters tall | 320 Meter Wingspan
Hi! I'd love to join this, and was wondering if I could play as a chimera, just upscaled? It would also have different animal parts making it up than the usual lion/snake/what have you.
EDIT: If I can find the reference image I'm looking for. Otherwise, I'll just go for a more normal chimera.
Gonna say this now - Nessie is definitely underpowered in her base form.
Most of the monsters that had been submitted so far are about the typical size compared to other kaiju from the Godzilla, Gamera, Ultraman, etc series. Now, while I don't mind smaller kaiju messing around with the humans - mostly as minions to large "hiveminds" or later on as allies once arc 1 is finished - this creature would probably be anchored in Loch Ness and be unable to move outside of it. Hence she wouldn't be really able to move around with the cast and ultimately be of much use.
So you're going to have to one of two things:
The first is buffing her abilities. You can take several liberties to have her be able to walk on land with more developed legs or something, or even grant her some additional abilities/reasons as of her benevolency and to at least fight a bit. Making her bigger is also heavily advised.
Or two, keep her the way she is, emphasize on the traits that could make her useful to the humans, and make another kaiju situated to the plot at hand. Who knows if Nessie will get her time to shine either later in the arc or in a future one.
Either way, you're going to have to pick one or the other in order to have Nessie be viable in the titan "meta".
I am interested in this, but have a question if you don't mind. Can we play as a parasitic type monster? Like a small or highly infectious creature, or do we have to play as titan/Godzilla sized monsters?
I've mentioned this before, but while I do prefer titan-sized monsters for this arc, I don't mind maybe one or two parastic monsters depending on what they do. Like one example of existing parastical kaiju at the titan-sized monsters are the MUTOs from Godzilla 2014, who lay eggs inside their monsterous hosts or what not.
Crazier stuff can occur in future arcs and side-quests will be a thing in all arcs. Just show me what you have in mind and I'll see if it's good or not.
@Ubermensch Ooooh, another polar titan. He and Akhult are definitely going to have beef with one another. (You'll see him soon)
Btw, I think it would be better if you have the bipedal pic go up first and have the quadruped polar bear pic be hidden as a reference. Or you could emphasize on the appearance section regarding said mode. Either way works.
Flight: Using her massive wings, Camazotz can zip through the air at impressive speeds and turn on the dime.
Echolocation: Like all bats, Camazotz utilizes echolocation to judge what her immediate surroundings are.
Acute Hearing: Camazotz's acute hearing allows her to pick up very faint noises that others would fail to pick up. She can hear noises from up to several miles away and it's been theorized that she can even pick up the heartbeat of her opponents.
Sonic Screech: Camazotz can unleash a powerful sonic screech that can temporarily stun larger monsters and wreck buildings within her vicinity.
Blood Sucking: Camazotz's most notable ability is the ability to suck the blood out of her opponents. Utilizing said blood, it can allow her to heal and enhances her abilities temporarily. Depending on the blood that she sucks, she could even temporarily gain her attacker's power for several uses.
Hivemind: Camazotz has connections to nearby bat populations and can command them as she wills. Her own bat populace - think miniatures versions of Camaztoz - in particular will come to her aid and can swarm the opposing enemy, distracting it for long enough as she goes in for the kill.
Weaknesses:
Frailty: Camazotz was not made to engage head-on with stronger monsters. Her body is weak compared to other more bulky creatures and she wouldn't survive long if pitted against them with little room to maneuver.
Sensitive Hearing: While Camazotz's acute hearing allows her to pick up even the slightest of noises, it also makes her vulnerable to incredibly loud noises. Those who utilize this vulnerability are able to confuse, as well as disorient and ultimately disrupt her ability to navigate.
Personality: Camazotz tends to be usually a shy creature, often seeking refuge in dark environments. In containment, she appeared to have entered a deep hibernation as she hanged upside down on her giant perch. Little of her behavior had been documented otherwise, however Terran biologists claim that she would've been a social animal, hanging around with similar looking bats. The recent discovery of the large "Morteptera (Giant Death Bats)" seem to
In Mayan mythology, the people spoke of the bat goddess with both admiration and reverence. They both described her as a rather docile creature at peace and a blood-thirsty monster during conflict. Opposing tribes seem to demonize the creature extensively, focusing on her vicious ferocity for blood and how she'd suck it from the victims of sacrifices.
Meanwhile, Polynesian mythology presented the bat goddess "Leutogi" as a more benevolent goddess, being more of a protector of both bats and to her worshippers.
History: TBA
Other: - Despite her infamous blood-sucking diet, Camazotz is perfectly content in eating fruit and seeds if blood is scarce.
