Can I use Tyr of old Norse mythology as my patron god?
Interested.

Commander Lorelai

The inquisition was silent for a time on the Imperials side, the wall of armored guardsmen not shifting an iota out of place from their rigid formation. Contrary to what some of the Black Pentacles thought, these were not sloven or lax men lording over a small town and they took to their work with a zeal passed down from their commanding officer. Said officer quirked her head curiously as the first to speak was every bit the bard she claimed to be, siver tongue included, yet Lorelai held her own and turned her gaze to the next to speak.

It went unnoticed that Akiko's gaze peered beyond the surface layer.

A wooden scaffolding dominated the village square, the freshly cut lumber sweet with sap from the haste of its construction. Sweeter still was the fresh blood dripping between the boards, hastening with the thump of another head cleanly severed from a criminals body. A child's perspective took it all in from atop the broad shoulders of her father, happily curling her fingers amidst blonde locks as yet another bandit fell to Imperial justice, never to threaten the roads again. But to the child's mind, all she could focus upon was the executioner with hair a vibrant crimson, her sword stained much the same as she swung and she swung, smiling beautifically all the while.

Her heart thrummed.

While Akiko was struck with memories and a feeling of blind adoration for the bloody figure, the present Lorelai frowned in the face of Umi's objections to the interview. "They are already gone, but it is the nature of a thief to strike yet again. Their capture is an eventuality and in the face of greater concern, it is one I will accept the responibility of forestalling fu- Excuse me?"

Her composure wavered, genuine surprise overflowing as she, and several of the normally stolid soldiers, turned to eye Rose speculatively. Yet Durgan wasn't signalling Rose out for blatant falsehood, leaving the Imperials with more questions then they were comfortable with.

"It would seem you are an....ecclectic troupe. Treasure hunters too. You'll pardon me if I insist, but I would not be comfortable leaving those so unaccostomed to our ways to roam about. I shall escort you to the most honored Lady Asgard's chateau and we can better orient you there." Lorelai said, gesticulating vaguely with one hand that spurred the encirclement to break into two neat lines girding the sides of the avenue with steel and discipline. "Miss Akiko, perhaps you could tell me of your journey here from the east. Surely you must have passed through the Rexicorg if you were in search of treasure? I've heard of it only in passing but I'd be delighted to hear a first hand account as we walk. The Lady's abode is only an hour away so the time should certainly fly, no?"

Commander Lorelai

A commanding roar was followed with the thunder of steps, heralding a bulk that could be seen with ease over the helms of mounted knights with ease. A mane that looked like like the flames of the sun wreathing a beastly visage was the first to be seen by the adventuring party. When the knight's parted, the terrifying maw of a beast larger then most peasant houses was angled towards them with jaws agape and eyes unnaturally focused. It spared no notice of armored man and horse alike, a familiarity borne from service leaving mortal and monster to tolerate each other without outward issue.

Atop the beast was a saddle, two open sacks on either of its flanks that clanged with a racket of metal, the hilts of swords pearing from one while the other had the more noticeable hafts of spears. Between them was an armored maiden, eyes a pale amber taking in the surrounded group with a mixture of open curiosity and irritation. In the crook of her elbow was the thick shaft of an Imperial standard, the flag waving proudly behind her, while the opposite hand drummed along the spine of an onyx tome marked in scarlet filigree.

"A crowd of foreigners barring the road in time for a brigand to escape my justice. Complicit or not your fortunes are as ill as mine this day." She tutted, looking afield to find some sign of the cloaked figure only to settle back upon them with a palpable ire. "I see no Tomes upon your person yet look neither like a peasent or a member of gentry. Are you some mummers troupe here to entertain, or perhaps you hold some Warovian allegiance we should be awares of? Speak candidly, for Durgan will sense dishonesty, and his appetite is already stoked from that cloaked coward's flight."

Her words brought a sense of tension to the gathered soldiers, as even as her posture remained unchanged and her gaze still steely, the gathered knights gripped their weapons tensely, some of the older ones scowling at the mention of the Imperium's bloody neighbor and their barbarous people.
Kanbaru Otoko

"Black Pentacle, huh? Spooooooky~ I like it." Kanbaru said with a snicker of dark amusement, watching her former partner seeth in her typical vitriol with a nostalgic fondness. It was for the best she didn't get Touka's card or she'd be abusing it to tease the acerbic Serei more then was prudent, at least with her in another's pocket she'd have some material in reserve. Kitten seemed a suitable substitute but bereft of past relations even Kanbaru thought this cat would sooner bite her then tolerate her affections.

She wouldn't lose any sleep over it, instead pushing herself off the bar as the newly christened group of magical women plus Tokuda turned to face a glowing door leading out of the inn. If nothing else, this Tower was heavily inclined to shorten commutes given how far one door could take them. The Imperious Expedition at least sounded to be more inviting then the openly supernatural horror one, the bluenette finding herself to be lacking the interest to plunge into the depths of castlevania till she had some more firepower of her own.

Firepower like a Serei of her own, something she didn't expect to receive till after they'd overcomed some further trial, yet the Mysterious Dude's gift shined with an inner power that just screamed 'Summon Me!'. "Why hello, handsome!"

There was a bounce in her step as she made for the door, card clutched tightly in hand as she bounded towards adventure pausing only to turn back to assembled cast of oddballs. "Well come on, everyone! We've got a Tower to loot and friends to collect!"
Kanbaru Otoko

The bluenette's dear reunion with Touka was cruelly ended by Touka herself. She purred past curled lips even as she staggered back from the low blow that freed her data-ex-compatriot. That fiercesness was a trait emulated perfectly, or so Touka said with her explanation about Serei and the cards that spawned them. "So you're a one way copy. Knowing all that your outside self does, but what you learn here doesn't go back out."

So basically Kanbaru could do anything to this Touka and the real one wouldn't know a thing. Not that there's much Kanbaru could do that she hadn't already.

The bar filled up soon after with even more people, another Serei being an endearing feline with a prickly attitude like an actual feline. Then a further feline, though one who could accurately be called an NPC, if a drunken one who proferred onto them complimentary healing potions. There was one for everyone, and while Kanbaru was a bit worse for wear from the explosives, she only sipped a bit off the top before stowing the majority of the vial for later. Oh, and one of the sleepers popped in, looking more confused then the Harem Protagonist.

"Hey Rose, I'm happy to let you start grinding affection score on the bartender, but we have to start small. The Mysterious Figure with the ghosts and shit may have let us go with prizes in hand, but I don't think we're getting off that easy if we jump into a boss room unprepared again. Umi's got it right, we need some carts to carry the loot we need to take a pirate ship...and then a motorcycle. In black. And saddlebags for my stuff...."

Kanbaru had found that, even in the short time she had them, she liked her abilities. One was broad with nigh infinite potential, and the other was clear cut in its utility. They came to her as easy as one would curl their fingers, but just as any limb, they had certain limitations. Limitations like being unable to redirect herse mid-dash when the Mysterious Figure she had moved to engage exploded, a wave of force and water striking her like the back hand of an angry god to send her pinwheeling back from whence she came.

Her back settled amidst mud and grass, the later tickling her neck as she glimpsed the sky above while her ears rang incessantly from the force of impact. Alive, she certainly was. Stunned, even more so.

Yet even such she could still react with spine chilling terror as a black hole opened above them, swallowing her view of the starry sky with an inky oblivion that went beyond description. It pulled, and her body responded, fist-fulls of mud falling fruitlessly through her clenched hands as she was unable to anchor herself. With nothing to affix herself to she was yanked into the event horizon swift as could be.

The other side of a black hole turned out to be a tavern. Kanbaru's first thought upon realizing there was hardwood beneath her boots was that physists would be hanging themselves by their neck ties if they saw this. Then again, they'd probably be doing that just from all the magic breaking the laws of matter on a constant basis, but that was just getting off topic.

"Well...that was a thing. Still deciding if we picked the right door or not, but if this isn't the afterlife I can't complain." The bluenette sighed, resting her arms on the bar while she stretched her back out like a feline, a contented gasp parting her lips as a kink worked itself out with a pop of vertebra. Meanwhile her gaze turned to Umi, who seemed to have gotten a card somehow and was attempting to use it as Kanbaru had earlier.

Only, this card didn't open a door. It brought out a very familiar face. One that would be swallowed up in buxom as Kanbaru flung herself at a diminutive girl with wild green hair and a near constant aura of murderous intent that rebounded off Kanbaru without effect. "Touka! Oh I'm so happy to see you, jesus it's been ages and we've got this whole Tower adventure thing that would be so much smoother if we had the club together. Oh, you smell of strawberries. Must be a new shampoo, I like it. Maybe I'll borrow it sometime-"

She rambled on rather excessively, Umi's Serei being assaulted verbally and physically as Kanbaru lifted Touka upwards to rub her cheek to the girl's like an affectionate feline would a kitten.

What she'd taken for teleportation or some form of extreme speed was in reality a doppleganger as solid and menacing as the original. Intangibility along with copies? Now that was just unfair, but this Tower never did promise them an easy road forward...well, aside from their Benefactor, but Kanbaru was as liable to trust him as she was to join shield boys harem.

A prospect made only slightly less laughable as he came through the closing door to plant his shield between the other ranged girls and a freaking meteor falling from the starry sky. Glancing over her shoulder as she willed her water to swell upwards violently, she was impressed to see Tokuda endure the falling ball of rock and fire without so much as a step taken backwards. Kanbaru thought it only fair to spare him the latter half of the attack and willed her geyser to rise before him, splashing his shield and smothering the flames that could find little purchase on land turning to mud and marsh around them.

"Hey guys, has anyone noticed if their entire bodies are intangible or only certain parts? Cause if its the former then I think we can take them so long as we take a few hits ourselves. Just need to live...recklessly." The bluenette questioned aloud, uncaring if the speechless figures reacted to her words. Her attention turned fully to the one acting like a surrogate mage as they brought another card up to bombard them once more.

Tokuda could probably take those hits for them, but all the figure needed to do was target the more distant fighters and problems would mount like cord wood. The swampy plain bubbled beneath the caster's feat before rising in a plume of boiling water, both man and card vanishing in the plume. Holding every doubt that such an attack would actually hurt him but hoping the seperation between man and floating card would ensure the meteor was averted, she Quick Dashed towards him as the water fell and laid into the dopple caster with a wild flurry of bludgeoning blows. If for nothing else then to lock down one more enemy while the others fought on.

The land beyond the door was simple, almost serene if she wasn't bracing herself for confrontation. The grass crunched beneath her boots, the level expense stretching onwards beneath a gloriously starry sky. If there wasn't a spot of darkness deeper then the expense up above she'd have had reason to take her eyes off the hooded figure walking towards her with an alarming surety of step. Then without so much as a flicker of movement, the distance evaporated and body screamed in pain.

Being under the Mysterious Figure's full attention for but a few seconds was like going through a blender, but there was shockingly little blood or injury. The bluenette's key rose to block, the tool weighty enough to take the card blades but unable to match the ambidestrous assault fully. Her teeth gnashed hard as what few cuts where physical piled up, the clang of struck metal rattling in her ear as she was pinned on the defensive right from the start.

It was a relief to find that once more, she fought with allies at her side. Umi dashed in, throwing dirt and trying to grapple while even the shifty girl Akiko tried to draw attention to herself. Rose's actions had Kanbaru interposing her weapon between herself and the airborne dagger on reflex, but rather then deflecting a poorly timed bout of treachery it exploded into...flower petals. A rush of vitality hit her, the cuts along her arm and chest closing up as the roses scattered and faded away completely.

"T-Thanks." Kanbaru shouted back, whincing as the petals seemed to do nothing to dim the phantom pain of the less material card strikes and it showed in the lapse in her voice. Rather then dogpiling on the man she used her Quick Dash to launch herself to Rose's side, exposing her back to the figure while she slammed her key down into the grass and concentrated. The soil dampened and churned under the force of water surging down and out, worsening footing while she expanded her reach for a geyser of boiler water.

"Get ready, this guy is going to break off and hit whoever's easiest. Don't expect to keep him pinned for long."

A part of her expected the arrayed people to clamor for the door to what appeared to be Miso City at a glance and that she'd have to split off to explore the Door to Night on her own, but it seemed that the others shared more then just powers in common. Plastering on a cheery smile once the majority of the waking people made their desires known twirled her wand before settling it towards the Door to Night.

"Alright then, it sounds like we have a party ready to explore, so let's get a move on and see what creepy crawlies this tower has waiting for us!" The bluenette said, marching ahead to be the first through the breach and welcome the mysteries of the Tower. Better to set aside the peculiarity of the Benefactor's speech till later, and not question how a duplicate of someone could be here if the original was still missing from reality...assuming, the world they knew was real and the Tower was the oddity. One could question if the inverse was true, but that way led to madness. And circular logic puzzles.

Kanbaru would much rather confront an issue she could smack witha key and drown in boiling water, thank you very much!
