<Snipped quote by Lord Wraith> And Owlman is his equal on Earth 3...Ergo, hello Owlman. Welcome to the "just as big of a badass as batman club." He's joined by Deathstroke, Rā's al Ghūl, and Katana. Oliver Queen's membership pending.
lol That's a rather short list. If we're talking 'One of the World's Best Martial Artists' there's... Ra's Al Ghul Talia Al Ghul Nyssa Al Ghul Batman Robin, Red Robin, Red Hood, Nightwing Green Arrow Black Canary White Canary The Question Sandra Wu-San (Lady Shiva) Richard Dragon Komodo The Sensei Katana Bronze Tiger David Cain Cassandra Cain And likely many many more who make that list. Being one of the 'World's Greatest Martial Artists' in the DC Universe really isn't the title it's cracked up to be.
Rocksteady has proven themselves well at making a single character driven game. I don't think a colourful cast like the Suicide Squad would translate as well. Firstly, multiple characters always seem to make a game less enjoyable. I mean while I like playing as Catwoman, Robin, Nightwing etc in Arkham City, they just feel like watered down versions of Batman. Deathstroke was really no different in Arkham Origins either. I'm interested to see if this improves with Harley and Red Hood for the upcoming Arkham Knight. Should it actually improve then perhaps I could get behind a Suicide Squad game but as it stands I can't really think of a game with multiple player characters that has been well done. Honestly the Lego Games and Donkey Kong 64 are the only things that jump out in my head (The Lego games have been some of the most faithful adaptations in years compared to other Superhero games out there). Fighting games have large varied casts and generally are alright, Injustice Gods Among Us was a great fighter game with DC Characters. Rather well done if not a little odd in the art department (Seriously what was up with Harley's default costume?), but I mean it was a fighting game. The story was weak and contrived (I'm surprised the comics are still going, should I be expecting a sequel game soon then?) but it was comic book worthy I suppose. I would like to see Rocksteady tackle other heroes and do for them what they've done for Batman before running off to do a Suicide Squad movie. Honestly though, the Arkham games owe quite a bit of their success to Paul Dini and his involvement and influences especially the numerous connections to what is arguable the best best Batman series ever... Batman The Animated Series. On that note, I think once Rocksteady is done with Batman they should take a crack at Superman or maybe stay in the same vein and try Green Arrow out. Alternately I could see a game based on Flash being fun but Green Arrow seems like he would be rather at home in an Arkham styled game. They could finally make 'Green Arrow: Escape From the Supermax' a reality. though likely a better title and probably go with the grittier and now more familiar 'Arrow' name instead of 'Green Arrow'.
I found a Catman respect thread which has a list of his feats http://www.reddit.com/r/respectthreads/comments/2up0o5/respect_catman/
Batman dodged Darkseid's Omega beams. Argument over lol
<Snipped quote by Natorix785> <Snipped quote by Lord Wraith> Owlman has no Wayne Manor to go home to, so it doesn't matter, Thomas doesn't care. If anything, Bruce is the one with the most to lose. Ultraman on the other hand, this is a world where his Kryptonite is limited. Deathstorm in this version CAN transmute elements into Kryptonite; but only sparingly. Ultraman is bulletproof, and such; however, once again, Superman has more to lose.
I was referring to Bats and Supes' identities being know because of their Earth 3 Counterparts.
<Snipped quote by Lord Wraith> I was pumped about it as soon as Rocksteady announced the project lol And I hope once their done with Arkham they move onto the Suicide Squad. A first person/cover shooter were you play as Deadshot, with all the loving attention to detail that only Rocksteady can supply? That would be my dream game.
Well yeah that too lol
<Snipped quote by Natorix785> I think a few of the characters have picked up on this in the RP. I know Boomer has for sure! Although I doubt that many others would know at this point. I guess anyone on the team could go about and try and do something, although i'd suppose that Bruce would have some kind of plan. Although if Injustice was anything to go by, he just gave up as Bruce Wayne though he wasn't happy about it!
Open season on masks!
Wouldn't the people who know that owl man is a wayne make the logical leap that batman is bruce wayne? or am i just overthinking this?
Double that for Ultraman/Clark Kent who unlike Owlman shares the exact same name with his Prime Earth counterpart.
This just in, Batman Arkham Knight will be rated 'M'. I am officially pumped for the story now if it was dark enough to bump the rating up.
<Snipped quote by Lord Wraith> Who has Onomatopeia killed already?
I haven't stated any names. I imagine some low level vigilantes who thought they could be the next Batman or Green Arrow.
No worries! Always here for any questions haha.
