Reluctantly retired roleplayer.

Except when I'm not.

Why are you here when you should be writing posts?

Keen eyes may note this is different to the brief ghost of a concept I floated in PMs but I thought I'd adapt the idea of doing a 'the Xavier Institute is a bit dodgy' Jean Grey concept into a 'The Strange Academy is a bit dodgy' story. I've done mutant stories a lot recently so felt like this might be a fun change. Involves quite a few magic based characters from both Marvel and DC I can trim down if required, or just rename.

With 24hrs on the clock and no one having announce competition. Zatanna and her Magical Academy are accepted.
I am so excited to see Roman play a bunch of his favourite characters.
I need flashbacks of Hal exuding this energy.

Having just read Absolute GL in its current entirety yesterday, this has me hyped.

Sorry didnt explain the idea too well in the sheet.

The idea is that the Academy has messed with the helm so there is no current Dr Fate yup. Happy to make it 'nebulous creepy magic artifact' instead but thought it might be a fun crossover for those who might want to fix that in the future.

I really don't see a need to change it solely for me to have a 'Dr. Fate' supporting cast member. Just wanted to ensure I was understanding the concept.
@Ezekiel just to be sure I'm understanding, there's no current 'Dr. Fate' as the Helm is owned by the Academy?

I only ask, because I had loose plans for Hector Hall being a confidant to Carter, but it's not a huge deal if he's not currently Dr. Fate since Hector has like five other superhero aliases I can draw on.

Godkin/Godborn: Mortals born of allegedly divine blood. True Godborn are said to be a demi-god, possessing a divine parent. These Godborn have ruled over Thrace for thousands of years, all through the line of ___. Though as the line has progressed, the divine blood has thinned, thus the term Godkin refers to more recent emperors who have only been related to their divine heritage and rarely possess the gifts of a true Godborn.

Trained by Court Mages, Masters of swords and sorcery
Framed for murder.

The Emperor is dead. His elite enforcers were framed for the murder.

-The emperor never produced any heirs. No divine blood, no throne.
-A Godborn was discovered, born in a distant village. The Emperor's elite guardsmen, the Crown's Caveliers, were sent to retrieve the child and its mother to be elevated to the palace and raised to inherit the throne. However, upon returning, the Caveliers discovered that the Emperor had been murdered, the murder weapon being that of a Cavelier's own sword.
-Framed for the murder, the Caveliers are forced to flee with the child and mother, while pursued by the guardsman, the wider law enforcement who report to the church rather than the Emperor. The church, being the vessel of the divine, operate the municipal government.

The bells tolled throughout the capital, citizens clambering for a look at the heir. But the Emperor had produced no such heir, the Godkin failing to secure the divine lineage, which meant upon his death, death to the entire Empire.

May our love endure like a shining star, illuminating a path forward for the roleplay and warming the hearts of all who wander into our thread.
