The worst thing about mental illness is you have to look after yourself a disgusting amount. I know it's the only way to actually be in a fit state to look out for others, but it still feels wrong.

Judging by the Internet's definitions of introversion and extraversion, you'd think everyone's either an extreme hermit or a party animal with no in between.

Bio

A frazzled British thirtysomething cat mum with something of a tea addiction.

I like a wide range of RP genres, but have two absolute favourites: Pokemon and magical girls. (If someone manages to combine the two, I'll be VERY happy!) I post fairly regularly, but sometimes shit mental health days crop up - if that causes any delays, I'll try to resume posting ASAP.

@Heckno12 Yeah, I take it we'll be in Mesalon for a while, a few people will need time to recover. And everyone will probably have to try at least twice to get the gym badge, right?

Cici forced herself to laugh. "This is just how much I need my coffee in the morning," she said. As Amica finished eating, Cici watched Dulcet's attention shift to the sandwich on the plate. "I kind of need my breakfast too," she said to the Swablu before taking another bite of the sandwich.

When Tommy asked her which Pokemon she hoped she'd find, Cici had to think for a moment. She'd considered her options, but hadn't done much more actual planning than she'd needed to. It would mostly be a matter of seeing what happened. "Well, I'm hoping to get some electric types at some point," she replied. "I like fairy types too, though. It surprises people, for some reason, but..." She shrugged. "There are all sorts I like. Igglybuff's one I'm gonna try to get in Feyhollow. As is Cleffa." She drank more of her coffee. "There's another Pokemon I want to see, eventually... I want to find out if the rumours are true. Meloetta. You've heard the stories, haven't you? It'd be great to hear its song."

She finished her sandwich, much to Dulcet's disappointment. "How about you?" she asked Tommy. "As well as dragon types, which Pokemon do you want to see?"

Sophia Danvers

Beside the wrecked ambulance

There he was again, the man on the Dragonite. It was only due to adrenaline that Sophia could stand, let alone run. She managed a few unsteady paces before collapsing. The next moment, that unnatural chill was back as the Aerodactyl burst from its Pokeball.

This was it, for all of them. Alexis, who aspired to greatness. Oscar, who'd helped despite his dislike of her and Alexis. Rheese, who'd been unlucky enough to be caught up in all this. Kero, whose efforts to avoid getting dragged back into the situation hadn't worked. The two girls who had been in the wrong place at the wrong time. All of their Pokemon. Among these thoughts, another one, a selfish one, came to her.

She'd never be the person her family wanted her to be... She'd been weak. She'd failed.

"I'm sorry..." she muttered to her Pokemon as she curled up in the mud, shaking. She braced herself for the impact... which never happened. From the sounds behind her, it seemed as if there was still some kind of battle going on. She managed to raise her head in time to see the look on the round man's face as the Aerodactyl struggled against several opponents. Facing him was an elderly, bald man, perfectly composed even in the middle of the chaos. The next moment, the would-be killer and his Pokemon had fled.

The threat was gone, just like that. Sophia started laughing, and found herself unable to stop, no matter how much her ribs hurt and how light-headed she became from breathlessness. It was only now the group was out of danger, and there was no more need for survival mode, that the full weight of the situation hit her. That had been so, so close...

"A-Alexis? Oscar?" she called, unable to raise her voice above a whimper, once the laughter had subsided. She still couldn't keep her breathing even. "Rheese...? Rheese!" She started crawling towards the unconscious trainer.

There were several snapping noises above her. Twigs broke from a tree, flying outwards and scattering around her. She'd thought, hoped, she was too exhausted to lose control, but she'd been wrong... "K-Keep away," she panted, dragging herself through the dirt, away from the group. She had to calm herself down somehow...

A childhood memory surfaced. Her mother's Chimecho, who would sing to her to soothe her. Recalling the tune, she hummed it. The song came out choked and shaky, and breathing too deeply made the aching in her sides flare up, but she kept humming. After repeating the tune a few times, she flopped to the ground, truly drained.

She'd let her powers go out of control twice in one day. That was a first for her... Of course, she'd never been in a life-threatening situation like this before, but still, it was a sign of how weak she'd been when she'd needed to be strong.

She was vaguely aware of her three Pokemon approaching her, and of a voice in the background. She couldn't quite make out what the old man was saying, but out of the corner of her eye, she could see him examining Rheese. When she tried to ask him if Rheese was ok, only a groan came out. Closing her eyes, she resumed her barely audible, out-of-breath humming, trying to block out everything else.

Amber Pine

Beside the wrecked ambulance

At the sudden arrival of an unusually rotund man, and the reappearance of that Aerodactyl, all Amber could do was look away, preparing herself for what was to happen next. What did happen, though, wasn't what she'd expected. There was a furious screech, and a crashing noise. Amber spun around to see the Aerodactyl on the losing side of a battle against three other Pokemon. Approaching the battlefield was what appeared to be a group of monks.

Amber exhaled in a rush with relief as the formerly overconfident man, after putting up an ineffectual fight against the monk who led the others, gave up and fled the scene. They were saved, but... That boy, and the men in the ambulance... Tamping down the remnants of shock, she ran towards the wreckage.

A twig hit her. She raised her arms to shield herself as more rained down. What was this? A surprise attack? Some other Pokemon swooping from the sky, through the trees? She looked over. There was the dark-haired girl, on her hands and knees, shaking, skin tinged grey. "K-Keep away," the girl warned, hunching down low as more twigs snapped from branches and flew outwards around her. Amber blinked, pulling back, watching in bewilderment as the girl clambered away and hummed a quiet, shaking tune over and over.

Ok... If she wasn't imagining things from the shock, one of the group appeared to be some kind of psychic. She had a feeling that, after the start to this journey, nothing would surprise her any more. The start that had nearly been the end, for the entire group... She still couldn't believe it, how narrowly they'd escaped. As the girl slumped and lay unmoving, Amber slowly, cautiously approached her. The trainer was still breathing, still singing. "It's ok," Amber reassured her, crouching down. "We'll be in Mesalon soon."

She stood up and glanced over towards the boy beside the ambulance. "Is he going to be ok?" she asked the man who had called for help. "And... are they?" She gestured towards the paramedics.

Ok! Remember, all Pokemon who took part in that now go up two levels.

And yeah, Otomos, we could definitely do with more characters!
@OtomostheCrazy Combined with confuse status effect though...
@OtomostheCrazy Seriously, I was just lucky then. That Froslass... I thought you were going to sweep through my entire team with just that one Pokemon. It looked that way at the start.
@fer1323 Thanks. Constructive criticism is welcome though.

I'm taking part in a craft fair in December, so I have a ton of jewellery to make, but should still be able to post fairly regularly and do the other drawing.
@fer1323 Pic you wanted is finally done.

Sorry it took so long, there's been RL stuff going on. I'll be pretty busy for a while, but will still post as often as I can.

"Ah, it's ok," Cici reassured Tommy. "Yeah, I won't be long, I could just do with a few more Pokeballs." She wondered how many Trainer Points she must have by now.

At Amica's warning to Dulcet, Cici looked down and shook her head. "So food always tastes better to you when it's someone else's, does it?" she said. "You've had your breakfast. Talking of food..." She excused herself and ordered a breakfast sandwich, as well as another much-needed coffee and some food for the journey. Taking a bite of the sandwich, she glanced down again to make sure Dulcet wasn't causing trouble. Forte was trying to back Amica up, but a cute pink puffball who whispered could only warn so convincingly.

Although the coffee was still hot, Cici kept taking small sips, trying to drink it as quickly as she could. She leaned back in the chair, attempting to appear relaxed, but the conversation with Sarah was still fresh in her mind, even though the other girl had left. What Cici wanted was to get out of this cafe, and out of this city.
@Aspen Wren Yay, it's still alive! I don't know if Aurliena's still in this, so should I just post?
